Nutterzzzzz
Weston P.

Came in on a rainy day, which in hindsight wasn't ideal. It quickly became clear that the best seating is outdoors when the weather cooperates. Inside seating felt disorganized and a bit chaotic. I'm a fan of dark beers, so I tried the Nutterzzzzz. It had some interesting flavor notes, but overall it felt unbalance almost like a car engine misfiring. With a little more harmony between the flavors, it could be a really solid beer

Another good Sacramento Brewery. Tried a hazy and a fresh hop wcipa, both were great with well balanced hops. The brewery itself has ample seating both inside and on the dog friendly patio. Seems to always be a food truck though I just stopped for beer this time. Perfect stop if you're in town or need a break as you drive through.

I will say that "Moksa Brewing" is one of the better breweries in the greater Sacramento area. Located in the city of Rocklin and directly at the corner of Pacific St & Sunset Blvd, this place has been serving up some of the most delicious and tastiest beers dating back to early-2018. And to those reading this review, there is also a "Moksa Barrel House" which focuses way more on food since they are an actual restaurant that serves a wide variety of the beers that the brewing company offers. I came here during the evening of Friday 8/1/2025 at around 6:00pm while meeting up with a group of friends. Since the food truck, "Señor Burger" was hosting their delicious food offerings, we took advantage of that while enjoying our beer. However, since this review is specifically on Moksa Brewing, I will focus on everything that this business has to offer. First and foremost, the interior is quite impressive with a generous seating area. Additionally, there are a ton of beer barrels towards the rear of the business. And throughout, they offer some very cool merchandise that includes caps, beanies, t-shirts, hoodies, and outerwear. The beer selections are outstanding with a huge assortment of lagers, stouts, IPA's, and even a couple varieties of beer slushies. Since the weather was a warm but comfortable 89°F, we took full advantage by sitting at their generous outdoor patio area. Since it was the dog days of summer, my first drink of choice was their "Summerthyme" which was a light, refreshing lemon flavor and has an ABV of 5.2%. My second drink was far different as I was curious to taste what these slushies were all about. Therefore, I went with their "Lava Flow" which is a combination of Sunshine Fluff/Dragonade. It was a refreshing blend of sweet and sour while it was the perfect pairing for our burgers/fries. All in all, "Moksa Brewing" is an excellent place to enjoy and admire all different types of unique beers. And it caters from the rookie beer drinkers to the more seasoned veterans. With outstanding customer service, a huge assortment of progressive and unique options, and a cozy yet upscale interior, this is one of the better places in Placer County and the greater Sacramento area for that matter. My rating, a perfect five-stars.

They have food trucks yum! Service is okay, nothing outstanding, the place is clean, could use some Updating. Has outdoor seating. Clean restrooms.

First I must say I am not a beer drinker. My Yelper hubby, Tom S. is a beer drinker. So we came here to try the Cousins Lobster Food Truck experience. This place has an amazing number of in house beers! And the description of the flavors seem to match the beer. Hubby ordered a beer that matched the description perfectly. Since I am not a beer drinker, I tried the Rice Lager, which is light and perfect on a hot day for me. Moksa has a big outdoor shaded patio, but it was 100 degrees when we arrived and I could not imagine dining and drinking out there! So we went inside and they have a good selection of seating, some TV's etc. The staff is courteous and friendly. They get the job done. We were there at 5:00 and just about every indoor table was taken. If you are a beer drinker, you should check this place out!

Moksa has a nice open space inside with lots of windows. Also, has a large outside patio. Large selection of rotating beers. Plenty of Moksa merchandise to purchase & canned beers to go. Liked the Pilsner Both pet & kid friendly. No dining option. Friendly folks

I think we spent $25 for a hummus plate with veggies, a side of kettle chips, and a couple of drinks. It was not too busy, but you could tell many people were regulars, which is always a good sign. I spent about 7 minutes at the counter unsure if I had actually ordered or not because the interaction was so bizarre and then suddenly my food showed up... There was only one other person in the place, but our drinks took another 10 minutes after we had our food and we ordered the drinks first. Food was decent. I think maybe the ratios were off when it came to the cracker/bread/chips vs. the dips themselves. We were left with just piles of crackers, bread and chips but the dips and cheese all gone, which was odd. (But I suppose people complain there aren't enough crackers or chips sometimes?) I loved the idea of all the fermented beverages and foods and they were tasty but also not super memorable. Maybe just paired with the super weird service made the food more forgettable? I loved the almonds and the whipped ricotta. I guess I would give it another try, but I'm not chomping at the bit to go back at all.

Self-pour taps, sushi, pizza, and indoor golf?…read more Waymaker Brewing in Roseville brings them all together! It's a fun concept where you can enjoy drinks and bites, book a golf simulator to play a virtual round, or spend some time practicing your swing. They also host events like live music, UFC fight nights, and private parties, adding even more reasons for beer and golf enthusiasts to check this place out! I didn't try the golf simulators during my visits due to back injuries, but I enjoyed watching others have a great time. I got to try all of their sushi offerings and the pizza! The sushi is unique and tasty. They use smoked salmon instead of the usual raw salmon, and honestly, it hits! The smoky flavor gives it a delicious twist. The sushi has crunchy toppings, too! Very tasty! I really like the variety of textures. The pizza hit the spot, too. Between the two, there was plenty to enjoy while sipping my current favorite beers: Breaking Bud and Gummy Worms! I really like the self-pour taps because I can try different options and pour just the amount I want. They also offer wine, which is nice when I feel like switching things up and giving my taste buds something different. The owner, Jacques, is great to talk with. I enjoyed hearing about his concept and love the idea of bringing golf, self-pour drinks, and tasty food together in one place. I hope more people come out and discover Waymaker! Whether you're interested in the golf simulators or just want to hang out with a drink and some good eats, there's plenty of reason to stop by. The sushi, pizza, beer, and friendly conversation already give me plenty of reasons to come back!

Me and my husband are novice golfers and thought it'd be fun for practice and with our family (took our 7yo and MIL). Pros: Very cool concept. Loved that we could practice our swings, use different clubs, and be able to see all of our specs. Loved the idea that they had sushi cause it's our kids favorite. And loved that they had not just beers, but a good variety of seltzers, ciders and even wine on tap! Cons: VERY limited food menu. What they had listed on their website was NOT what they had available for purchase. There were only maybe 10 food items to choose from, and very high priced for what it was. A couple of hand rolls (1 each for $8-$10), Poke Nachos (on tortilla chips - big no no! - use wonton chips!) for $20 (price ok since you got a few small pieces of fish per chip, but they skimped by using tortilla chips, on both price and flavor! And they had 3-4 sushi rolls. Their "special" roll being $20 alone. There wasn't really anything special about it. Definitely not worth $20!! The fish tasted fresh, but so does the local sushi place down the street with massive rolls, full of fish, for $16-18/roll. So don't expect much from the food. I went to ask the guy at the front of if it was user error on the mobile app... he said that they run out of food and when that happens, they just take it off the menu. LAME! Put a disclaimer on your website! Additionally, the guy at the front desk (upon check in) - unhelpful! He asked us if it was our first time, which it was. He set us up and told us if we had questions to just come ask. We did, and each time he seemed like it was more of an annoyance that we were taking him away from his phone time (that he was on every time I went to ask a question). And instead of explaining to us how things work, and how to maneuver through the screens and set things up, he just did what we asked/needed without showing us so we could never fix it or do it ourselves. We figured some things out on our own, but if you have newbies, it would be worth showing them how to use the system so it doesn't take a ton of our paid for time (at $50/hour) to figure things out. Such a waste and makes the cost to worth ratio deteriorate very quickly. So overall, would we go back. Maybe. Definitely not with our kid (which makes it more rare that we'd return). I like to give everything a second try. But for the cost, it would take some convincing and a MUCH better second experience for me to ever go back or recommend this place to friends.

The gravy brought everything together, making every bite hearty, flavorful, and pure comfort food! The fries deserve some love too! Ask for a side of curry ketchup. When the waiter brought my drink, I immediately noticed it didn't look like a traditional Piña Colada, and after tasting it, I confirmed it certainly didn't taste like one either. I politely asked if I could exchange it for a different drink. The waiter returned and said the manager wouldn't allow an exchange but would offer me 50% off instead. I explained that I wasn't happy with the drink and simply wanted to order something else. The manager came over and explained that the menu includes a disclaimer stating the cocktails are made with soju instead of the traditional liquor. In my opinion, the waiter should have mentioned that when I ordered, especially since it significantly changes the flavor. I hadn't noticed the disclaimer--I simply ordered what I thought would be a classic Piña Colada. Unfortunately, I was still charged half the price for a drink I didn't enjoy and wasn't allowed to order a replacement. The manager emphasized that it was too expensive for the restaurant to remake drinks, which I found disappointing. I've never had an experience like this at any other restaurant. On a positive note, I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries, and it was delicious. That was the highlight of the meal. However, the service was also lacking. Our waiter was slow and couldn't answer several of our questions without repeatedly leaving to ask someone else. Because of the poor customer service and how the drink situation was handled, I won't be returning.

Once I finished my drink, I happened to be the next person in line anyway, since there was a person at the front register already being serviced & the person at the register closest to me had just received their drinks. The employee in the picture below asked to "help the next person in line." At that point, I'd already stood up and was waiting to get another & someone else had just walked in, but stood in the "main line." In retrospect, maybe I should've stood in that main line to begin with, but the employee clearly saw me standing there looking directly at her w/ an empty glass in my hand. Then after I spoke up & said I was indeed next in line, told me "Oh, well yeah...." & proceeds to let the gentleman who'd walked in after close his tab first. He didn't say/do anything when she asked who was next in line at first (b/c he came in after)...until she summoned him over. I informed her directly after that I'd heard cashiers calling people over from both sides & was just saving a step by going to the one that I would've ended up at anyway. As a manager in the service industry previously, I can't imagine not helping the only person that CLEARLY stated they were NEXT in line first. Lol

Unfortunately, a couple of negative interactions with staff these past couple weekends have overshadowed what should be a great experience (we came twice and brought friends whom have never been before both times). On the two separate visits, I encountered employees (2) who were unfriendly, unwelcoming, and uninterested in customer service. On my most recent visit, one bartender was noticeably rude to me on more than one occasion during the same visit, so it didn't feel like a misunderstanding or an isolated moment. Later, I asked who the manager was because I had a question about the air bnb and was directed to another girl who appeared inconvenienced and offered no greeting or assistance. Even a simple "Can I help you with something?" would have gone a long way. I assumed the less-than-warm service might have been due to the crowds and busy environment, but after experiencing the same thing again on our next visit, it feels more like a personal issue than a one-off bad day. It's unfortunate because the property is beautiful, the beer is good, and this brewery has so much going for it. We bragged about this place to our friends and then felt embarrassed after we got the eye-roll treatment. With so many great breweries to choose from, friendly customer service matters. A smile, a greeting, and basic courtesy aren't a big ask, but they make a huge difference in whether customers decide to come back.
