They have food trucks yum! Service is okay, nothing outstanding, the place is clean, could use some Updating. Has outdoor seating. Clean restrooms.

Another good Sacramento Brewery. Tried a hazy and a fresh hop wcipa, both were great with well balanced hops. The brewery itself has ample seating both inside and on the dog friendly patio. Seems to always be a food truck though I just stopped for beer this time. Perfect stop if you're in town or need a break as you drive through.

I will say that "Moksa Brewing" is one of the better breweries in the greater Sacramento area. Located in the city of Rocklin and directly at the corner of Pacific St & Sunset Blvd, this place has been serving up some of the most delicious and tastiest beers dating back to early-2018. And to those reading this review, there is also a "Moksa Barrel House" which focuses way more on food since they are an actual restaurant that serves a wide variety of the beers that the brewing company offers. I came here during the evening of Friday 8/1/2025 at around 6:00pm while meeting up with a group of friends. Since the food truck, "Señor Burger" was hosting their delicious food offerings, we took advantage of that while enjoying our beer. However, since this review is specifically on Moksa Brewing, I will focus on everything that this business has to offer. First and foremost, the interior is quite impressive with a generous seating area. Additionally, there are a ton of beer barrels towards the rear of the business. And throughout, they offer some very cool merchandise that includes caps, beanies, t-shirts, hoodies, and outerwear. The beer selections are outstanding with a huge assortment of lagers, stouts, IPA's, and even a couple varieties of beer slushies. Since the weather was a warm but comfortable 89°F, we took full advantage by sitting at their generous outdoor patio area. Since it was the dog days of summer, my first drink of choice was their "Summerthyme" which was a light, refreshing lemon flavor and has an ABV of 5.2%. My second drink was far different as I was curious to taste what these slushies were all about. Therefore, I went with their "Lava Flow" which is a combination of Sunshine Fluff/Dragonade. It was a refreshing blend of sweet and sour while it was the perfect pairing for our burgers/fries. All in all, "Moksa Brewing" is an excellent place to enjoy and admire all different types of unique beers. And it caters from the rookie beer drinkers to the more seasoned veterans. With outstanding customer service, a huge assortment of progressive and unique options, and a cozy yet upscale interior, this is one of the better places in Placer County and the greater Sacramento area for that matter. My rating, a perfect five-stars.

First I must say I am not a beer drinker. My Yelper hubby, Tom S. is a beer drinker. So we came here to try the Cousins Lobster Food Truck experience. This place has an amazing number of in house beers! And the description of the flavors seem to match the beer. Hubby ordered a beer that matched the description perfectly. Since I am not a beer drinker, I tried the Rice Lager, which is light and perfect on a hot day for me. Moksa has a big outdoor shaded patio, but it was 100 degrees when we arrived and I could not imagine dining and drinking out there! So we went inside and they have a good selection of seating, some TV's etc. The staff is courteous and friendly. They get the job done. We were there at 5:00 and just about every indoor table was taken. If you are a beer drinker, you should check this place out!

Moksa has a nice open space inside with lots of windows. Also, has a large outside patio. Large selection of rotating beers. Plenty of Moksa merchandise to purchase & canned beers to go. Liked the Pilsner Both pet & kid friendly. No dining option. Friendly folks

Was a very comfortable place to hang out drink beer with our dogs. They had live music. The service was really good. I'd go back.

We been here before but stopped on the way home for a last round. 80's live band music, great beer, awesome environment and amazing food from West Coast Taco truck! Honestly the West Coast Fries and Carnitas Tacos from the menu was such a amazing combination to the beers and vibe that we had at Moksa brewery. The service was swift, delightful and we would definitely recommend others to attend or make it a first time visit

Stopped by on a early Thursday afternoon just as it was beginning to get busy. This brewery offers both interior and patio seating, with dogs allowed in either place, so that is very cool. The big dude that helped us seemed more like a bouncer than a server because he seemed indifferent, irritable, and not very interested in answering questions. Tried a flight of four beers and also tasted a few others to get a good sampling of what they make. The beer was good, but their IPA offerings were all too similar for my taste. Also, at the time we visited they had nothing on the beer menu that was malt forward. They do not have food, but there was a food truck next to the patio that had not opened yet. I get that they know how to make quality beer, I just wasn't impressed with what they had the day I visited.

Great beer - WORST "music" tonight (4/5/25). Loud noise masquerading as entertainment.

It's not a loud, chaotic bar and not a nightclub at all. It's one of those places where you can actually relax, get inspired, feel an unreal vibe, hang out with friends or even just sit and do your homework without anything distracting you.‍ The music is perfect -- great background, not overwhelming. The people who work there are super open, friendly, and welcoming. There's a strong feeling of acceptance and warmth. Even though my English isn't perfect, they were so kind and made me feel completely comfortable, which honestly means a lot. They also recommended drinks, and wow -- everything I tried was genuinely delicious. And the coolest part: if you're not sure what you like or can't decide, they'll let you taste different drinks, which is such a nice touch. Another thing I loved is that you can buy really cool jewelry and interesting little things for your home. Everything fits the same aesthetic -- relaxed, artsy, slightly mushroom-core vibe -- and it all just works together so well. Overall, the vibe is unreal. Super cozy, inspiring, and warm. I 100% recommend checking this place out -- it might just become your perfect spot to spend time, chill, and feel good.

We were seated in the patio in the shade, so it wasn't too insufferably hot on this very sunny, warm day. Jägerschnitzel is my go-to at German restaurants and the one at Kathrin's is one of the best I've had to date. My plate was generous and the jägerschnitzel was tender, the spätzle was too, and the mushroom gravy that topped the jägerschnitzel was just so good. I cleaned my plate. I also got one of their small pretzels to start the meal and loved how soft and chewy it was, and the mustard had a good punch of spice. I thought it was cool that their pretzels are sourced from a local Bavarian factory. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the dressing on the green salad that comes with the jägerschnitzel. I'm really not sure what it was and can't say I've had anything else that tastes like it before, but it was strong and I was good after just a few bites. However, that wasn't enough to ruin the meal for me with as good as that jägerschnitzel was. While I was only here because I was visiting family who live in the area and recommended this place, I'd be happy to return if my family wanted to come back on a future visit.

We found that they served the dinner menu all day and there was no lunch menu. We ended up ordering the Oktoberfest platter, which it was made up of five sausages, schnitzel, red cabbage, sauerkraut and french fries. 4 of the 5 sausages were extremely dry and over cooked. Schnitzel was dry and flavorless. It seemed as if they had heated everything up in a microwave. Overly hot and very dry. Happy hour started at 3PM and we arrived at 2:45. That would have given us a discount on food and beer. But we figured oh well, our bad for not realizing. We commented on it to the bartender / server, like "oh darn" and he didn't really react. It was not like we expected to get the happy hour prices, we were just commenting. Then, unfortunately, we overheard him talking to two men at the bar, saying "I waited until 3PM to ring up your beers because I wanted to give you happy hour price." Yikes! Why not us? (Only us and these two gents inside at the time. There was a handful of people at outside tables.) We are disappointed because we had enjoyed them before and they are the closest restaurant to us serving German food. The food and the service that day are not very motivating to return.

Whether you want to be inside, out on the patio, or tucked into one of the many outdoor spaces, there's plenty of room to spread out. It's the kind of place where everyone feels comfortable. Families were out enjoying time together, kids running around having fun, and it was great to see so many people bringing their dogs along. We had our dog with us, which made the visit even better--any place that welcomes four-legged friends gets extra points. We tried a beer and a mead, and both were very good--refreshing and full of flavor. We also ordered a pizza, and despite the brewery being quite busy, it came out surprisingly quickly. This was such a cool find!…read more We came to town for a family members birthday party and wanted to stop by a brewery for lunch and check out the area. The place was way bigger than what I was expecting! The parking lot is huge, and it was packed! You order your beverage and food at the bar and they pour you your drinks and give you a pager for the food. I was impressed to see the food was coming out of a food truck for how large the venue is. I was drinking the Mexican lager, served with salt and lime. I thought it was super tasty, I liked it a lot. My husband was drinking the hazy ipa which had a pretty high percentage, I believe like a 7.5%! It was surprisingly easy to drink and fruity. Food we ordered the BLT and it was served with house made pickles and potato salad. The potato salad had cheddar cheese inside it, I like that twist. I ordered the pizza pretzel and at first thought $18.50 is pretty steep pricing for a pretzel but let me tell you, the pictures do not do the size justice. It is literally the size of a pizza! So big, covered in mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Came with plenty of dipping sauce too. I loved it, it was so fresh and delicious, and perfect to share! I had more than half leftover to take home! Check this spot out it was pretty rad, they had live music and the vibes were great! We could've hung out here all day perfectly content.

Here's the hard truth, Hillenbrand has really good food and good beer. However, they are chasing away families left and right. Kids are not really welcome at all. The signs posted make it evident. The best seating area is marked with 21 and over on each and every table. I get it. Sometimes it's nice to have an adult only night out. However breweries in the area should decide who they want their customers to be. On a Thursday evening, it should really not be an issue for a family to have a nice night out. The highlight of our night for me was drinking beer out of a plastic cup. For the second round we asked for glassware, but were told we had to buy the glasses to have glassware. When we turned that down, we got a sales pitch for the monthly stein program. Sorry! For the monthly amount they want I'm pretty sure the winery around the corner has a better deal. We also asked if we could bring in our Hillenbrand glasses that we already have the next time to use and the girls behind the bar had no answer. The best part was when the bartender handed over the plastic beer cups and said enjoy your plastic. So the question is, next time we go out on a Thursday night to enjoy a beer and food is it going to be Hillenbrand or the 3 other breweries in the area. Also the girls behind the bar gratefully filled us in to the fact that Hillenbrand is not a brewery but in fact a bar. Too bad Ron wasn't there tonight. PS our two children were very well behaved and stayed by us the entire time we were there.
