The food here was delicious! I drove for an hour to eat here and was not disappointed! The cafe con leche was so just as delicious as the food! The service was great and the servers were so friendly. If you are craving Cuban food this is the place to be. read more

Mojito - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

One of our favorite places to eat in Seattle. The food is fantastic, the drinks are great, the staff are great, and the owner is an amazing human being. He will personally talk to each and every customer to make them feel welcome and make sure they like their meal. read more

I have to say I love, love, loved this place. One of my biggest complaints about Seattle is that they don't have a good amount of Cuban restaurants in the area. I frequently crave a papa rellena and (non-dessert) empanadas. Unfortunately Mojito does not serve these. Mojito presents itself as a Latin restaurant and not a Cuban place, so I can't get too mad at you guys for not having them. Might I suggest you guys start? :) Pretty please, with a loyal fan on top? I ordered the milanesa de pollo. It was a generous portion and the guasacaca sauce went quite well with the chicken. I've had this dish before at another Cuban restaurant with a minced pineapple salsa too, and it was delicious. Also a little hint for you guys ;) I have to say the milanesa de pollo is a great dish! I ordered the signature drink - the mojito of course! It was on the Seattle Foodie 100 list, afterall. When I walked in I saw a bunch of glasses with the limes sitting in them, seemingly ready for muddling. I have to say it wasn't the best mojito I've ever had, but it was alright. This place is intimate and the staff is incredibly friendly. The owner came out to chat with us. You could tell he had a passion for making sure his customers were happy. read more

Delicious and memorable Carribean food. After looking at the menu online, I couldn't wait to eat here. We grabbed some friends and headed here for a wonderful night. I highly recommend getting reservations. This place can get full fast, especially at prime times. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is laid back and really transports you out of Seattle and into a hip vacation spot. The mojitos are amazing. They aren't just sweetness and rum. They have a depth and complexity to them. And are worthy of just coming here for a drink. But the food is not to be overlooked. We ordered the variety of appetizers. Which really gave us a nice variety of yummy things to try. I loved the plantains. I ordered the banana leaf fish and enjoyed it thoroughly. The other member of our party did not like it as much. It was a tad bitter and the flavors are definitely either a love it or hate it. The pork seemed to be a big hit with everyone. Very impressive. I highly recommend coming here to get away from it all. read more

Mojito! You have to love places that just exude their personality through their names. No games, no frills, Mojito is laidback, chill, good food, good drinks, fun atmosphere. I only learned recently that La Casa del Mojito changed to just Mojito, but everything else is just the same. Such a gem off of Lake City - definitely google map/mapquest it if you've never been. I have been here so many times over the years and love everything about it. My sister has had her birthday dinner here for four-five years running and we are always treated to birthday drinks and a great time. The service here really knows their game and make you feel taken care of and feel like you have a good time. You know the ice you get on the ferry or at Taco Time that is small and crumbly? I don't know why, but I love that ice and I feel like it makes their already perfect mojitos that much better. Capirinhas are a must try, if you like mojitos. The food is a-mazing. I can't go here and not get the ceviche, best ceviche I've had in Seattle and ample portions too. I usually get the Vaca Fritas as my entree, lime juice is delish! I've also tried a few of the fish dishes, the pork, the steak (drool) and have never left disappointed, or left a morsel of food on my plate despite having sizeable portions. Hot sauce is incredible and delicious. They warn you... and it is hot, not for the faint of heart. They have two options, both spicy, but I love the spicier, orange colored hot sauce. Unlike anything else I've ever had. This place is best in the summer when it's warm enough to sit outside but you will never be disappointed. Go here! read more

Four of us went to Mojito on Saturday night for dinner, and had TERRIBLE service. We were told that a table would open up in 20 minutes, but it actually took 50 minutes. Which is fine, the number of tables are small and it was Saturday night, so it was annoying but I understand. Then we ordered drinks and food - including an appetizer (the ceviche) to start. We waited an HOUR and 15 minutes for the ceviche, meanwhile the waitstaff didn't notice that our water glasses were empty for 45 of those minutes. It took another 30 minutes for the food to come out (I started timing because I figured I was just tired and impatient). I've never had such terrible service - especially for a place where we spent $150+ for four people. I've been to Mojito about four times - all of which the food and drinks were awesome, but the service has been worse every time that I've gone. I wish that I could say I would go back - because the food really was tasty - but for the quality of the service I don't think I can. read more

Just went here yesterday for lunch and SO glad I did! Excellent authentic latin cuisine, total real deal. I have been to central america and remember having very similar tastes and textures. Had the best selling signature dish Parrilla De Luigi... My kinda meal... steak, fried plantains w/ super garlicy sauce, fried casava, quac, rice and black beans. Not a huge meal but very filling for $10.95. Service was decent, has indoor and outdoor seating right at the intersection of Lake City and I-5. SO need to come back here for the cuban sandwiches. Finally some real latin food! yay! read more

Mojito - Mojito's pariila de luigi - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

We've been here a couple times. After last night I had to review... The food is always great. I love their sauces. The cocktails are fantastic as well. We came early with our 2 year old son and just wanted to have a fun dinner for my wife's B-Day on a low key night. My son loves playing with the instruments provided by the restaurant. Our server last night was super nice, very accommodating and thoughtful. A bit later the owner (or one of them) Luam (hope I am spelling that right!) came out and greeted us, was awesome to our kid, and a bit later pulled up a chair and just talked with us for a little bit. It made a great dinner an awesome experience. Luam seems ridiculously genuine. Thanks for making our night more special. See you soon! read more

Had the Vaca Frita. Food tasted fine, but for the price and the service I don't think I'll ever return. Thought it was $12.95 turns out it ended up being $17.45 after tax. Server never checked up on me. Didn't offer to bring me a take out box, so I went in the kitchen to ask one of the cooks. Water was never refilled. Bussed my own table. Went inside to pay but no one seemed to care... I probably could have left and no one would've noticed... Finally got the check, mentioned the price difference of what I was expecting from the menu online. Waitress said it was probably the lunch menu price. Still no excuse for the bad service. I gave them a fifty and she said she had no change. What kind of place can't make change for a fifty when meals cost close to $20 bucks? So I gave her a Twenty, and ended up leaving her the change for tip. Never to return. read more

If you like small restaurants, so-so service, mediocre food, food not even cooked to your liking (ordered medium rare, got well done), and your appetizer after your meal then this is the place for you. Additionally, If you like to spend $17 per plate and don't care that it's value isn't worth that $17, that you could have spent that kind of money elsewhere and got better food, then Mojito it is. (I'm just very disappointed, not at all impressed. I choose this place because it was 4 star and good reviews. I thought it was that hole in the wall neighbor hood gem but it really isn't. I think that you have to consume lots of alcohol to enjoy the food. I'm sorry I cannot give you a better review Mojito). read more

Edit: Still love the food. Still love plantains and now I really only order vaca frita. Now that I'm older and wiser, I love to bring the baby and I don't think it's expensive. Yes, you can have a mojito while they give your baby a rhythm instrument. Life is sweet. It's a skotche loud and it is a grown-up restaurant, so don't expect a playground. But they're not baby adverse and I love that. The owner is still the nicest guy! Love these guys. ------------------------------------------------- I love love love the food here. I love plantains. I love meat. I love mojitos and meat and plantains. Couldn't be better. Order anything, you'll like it, but make sure it has platanos attached. I recently met the owner at a private party that he had catered and that was completely delicious too. Throw me a meatball! The location is interesting but accessible and I've never had a problem with crowds. Unfortunately, it is a skotche expensive, but fortunately I had my hot date on one arm and Mr. Entertainment Card on the other, so it was all good. read more

this place never ceases to amaze me. we've been here several times, and every single time we're treated like family and the food is consistently delicious. on my visit today, we opted to try our food to go, but when i picked up my order, i eyed a delicious looking soup. the owner graciously let me try it and boy was it good! apparently in the weekends they make ox-tail soup; it's hearty, comfort food to the max - yum! just when i think i've had everything in their menu, they suprise me with more goodness. i love this place and hope they stay here forever! if you're thinking of whether to come or not, stop wasting time and just go...you definitely won't regret it! :) read more

This place has become my birthday spot. l missed it this year because l got a surprise party instead, but for the three years before that, l celebrated my questionable life with questionably strong drinks and lots and lots of garlic. l regret that l have still only been for dinner, so there will be a followup when l try out their sandwiches. There are four dishes l can't help but mention: Pollo a la Parilla: one of the juiciest half chickens you'll ever eat. Lechon Asado: l want to buy tons of this stuff and just use it as a condiment, it's that good. Pabellon and Vaca Frita: l have a thing for shredded beef. Don't ask. These are similar in that respect, but distinct in flavor, and always extremely tender. The Vaca Frita is slightly better, but both are lovely. l didn't mention it because l've only had it once, but the vegetarian platter is also to die for. And don't be afraid to ask them to put together something special for you if your dietary needs are specific (though recommended ahead of time if they're slammed); you won't be disappointed with the results. There's not a dish on the dinner menu that isn't enough for two meals; the portions are ginormous, and be careful; unlike most place, the drinks get stronger as you go on, not weaker. And the drinks are good enough to make my teetotaler grandmother weep. l have to make a point about the ambiance. Sure, the food is wonderful, but it's got a living room style atmosphere that l love. lf the owner is there, it is always a better time; the drinks flow a little heavier, the music is livelier, and if you enjoy dancing, there is likely to be more uninhibited action going on. Maybe the owner himself will sweep you up and spin you around a few times. lt's a great place for a date, as long as you're not insanely possessive. l will say that since the new location opened up and everyone (as in, old employees) moved over there to get things going, the old location isn't quite as good as it used to be. The food is still rocking, but it had three pimply teenagers playing with MySpace on their work computer, only a few feet away, yet failing to notice our drinks were empty and we needed their attention (and on this particular night, we were the only ones there). After chatting with them, turned out two of the three had only been there a matter of days, and none brought the enthusiastic family vibe that l love so much. But l love it so much that it won't cost them a star in my book. Hey, Mojito owner man! Want that vibe at both locations? Hire me! And you won't need three people to take care of ten tables either. l'm dead serious. Trust me. The food here will blow you away, and you will get far more flavor from your buck than you expect, no matter how many good reviews you prepare yourself with before going. read more

Hell yeah! This place is great. The staff was super friendly, and kept chatting with us as we stood waiting for a table to open. (This restaurant is very small and the wait can be a bit long and uncomfortable if your not able to stand.) They also gave us each a Mojito which I can say with out any doubt was the best damn Mojito I have ever had. Food was very good, but they don't have a large vegetarian selection, so if your not a meat eater you may want to check the menu on line before going. Service was amazing. All the staff was super friendly and made every effort to make sure our dinning experience was wonderful. Decor is also very nice. Lots of festive bright colors. Again, its very small and can seem a little cramped in the winter. During the summer they have some outside dinning so that frees up some space. read more

OK folks lets get serious ... this fun little place should be listed under male revues- I hasten to add that this in no way detracts from the simple, well priced fare - but come on - really! Suggested by a middle aged female friend as an undiscovered Cuban/ latin American restaurant par excellence - our group,3 guys 3 gals, entered, or should I say squeezed in, with great expectations. While the guys were perusing the menu, the girls seemed mesmerised by the waiters who partied between the patrons juggling trays of mojitos and meals whilst being constantly in possession of two small buns (so I was told). The girls wiggled and cooed and the guys got spaz on mojitos. The mojitos were spectacular, as - I was repeatedy informed - the buns were . The authenticity of the food and those who served it reminded me of something an ex-girlfriend once said to me - she had a penchant for exotic seafood (and men) - "I like 'em fresh off the boat" The menu was decidedly hazy and my tongue had been numbed by a bacardi anasthetic by the time I slurred my order. From what I recall the food was lively and the music was fine. The mojitos were compelling and the company was stiff ...or was that the other way around? and the service was both deliberately and unwittingly accommodating. Expectations were met although not exactly in the way we'd anticipated. All in all a fun night ....hey... what more could you ask for? Two stars for the waiters - one for each bun- who seemed like really good guys and two stars for the mojitos and food. PS Kudos to reviewer Mindy who at least fronted up about the main attraction - to the rest of you - whimps! read more

La Casa del Mojito is a hidden jem of Seattle. I've passed by this street many times and would have never looked twice at the house turned restaurant right above the I5 on ramp. From the moment I stepped inside I forget that it was raining outside and was taken away to a tropical island feel. From the fun music to the festive decor, the small space is created into a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing! I got the steak, plantain, beans and rice and ate every last bit (I just couldn't stop). The drinks are also delicious...I had a sangria that was the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. To top off the experience the wait staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and even entertaining...cracking a joke or two. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu. It also looks like a great summer time spot with a big patio area, I'll have to check that out for sure! read more

I'm also not sure where the great reviews came from (the owner making multiple accounts?) or as another reviewer noted "I am assuming they had a few mojitos before eating." Went here with a mid to high expectation (due to the high ratings in Urban Spoon, according to our friends) and wanted to enjoy an authentic Cuban dinner. Hmm just the opposite happened here. Food was bland, and agree with another reviewer about the garlic on the food... OVERPOWERING (unless you enjoy raw garlic, then you will love it. Pretty disappointing experience.. The rating should be no more like 60% out of 100% because their Mojitos are the only thing that will keep this place going. Waitress was unhappy, made a mistake and plop down a bottle of beer that nobody ordered and when we asked if perhaps the beer was for the table near us, she told us we ordered it. We repeated our order... two mojitos and a rum and coke. She took the beer off the table and walked off rolling her eyes. Very very unprofessional and rude! Needless to say, but have to say... Service was a minus 2. read more

Man, I really wanted to like this place! I love Cuban and Venezuelan cuisine, and was so excited to have finally talked my husband into going here. Much to my disappointment, none of the dishes I tried were authentic and the aerpas were as hard as rocks! We ordered around 6 dishes and did not like a single one! It was heartbreaking since I had so been looking forward to it. Neither my husband nor I ate much of the food, and we both left feeling a little sick. I might have been able to forgive the bad food had the service been excellent, but it wasn't. There were two waitresses covering the entire place and there were several large parties. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone that knows what good Latin cuisine should taste like. read more

Wonderful casual Latin American restaurant. I have eaten there for dinner with friends and highly enjoyed the food. Our office catered from here for the holidays and it was so delicious! The meats are so flavorful and moist. The catering experience was easy and the service and delivery were excellent. Highly recommend! read more

After reading all the fantastic reviews, I guess I was expecting more. The service was great, and free tequila shots are always nice too! However, the food was just ok. I felt like it lacked a lot of flavor. Won't be back. read more

I went to Mojito around a year ago and am just remembering to write a review. Whoops. So things may have changed but this is from my experience here last May. The space is very small so there may be a wait for seating. To go you can just take out, in case the wait is too long. The staff were very friendly and the small space in the restaurant made it cozy, but could stand to be a little bigger honestly. The food was very good, but nothing extremely memorable. I am very very picky with my Cuban food and this place did a good job for the Seattle area. There are a few rivals for being the best ACTUAL Cuban food in the area and unfortunately I personally don't feel Mojito beats the other ones. Overall, this restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. They could benefit from a bigger space and faster service. I would probably come back and it wasn't bad for just happening upon it! read more

It's Friday evening, and I pick my girlfriend up after work. We head over to Lake City, and pull up along side the bright yellow exterior of La Casa del Mojito. Already some friends are inside. They've pulled three of the tables together to form one large seating area in the closet sized space of the dining room. As we walk in, the owner gives me the obligatory fist bump, and steals some sugar from my girl. The sounds are cranked as the room practically oozes soul. As the sun sets, the candles are lit, and the best mojitos in town keep flowing. Tostones start the night off - salty fried plantain pancakes topped with a garlic lime sauce. We ask for the "special" white sauce - habanero garlic. Trust me, you just gotta eat through the pain - soon the combat high will kick in. The Parilla de Luigi arrives - perfectly seasoned steak, accompanied by yucca, black beans and rice. More tostones, more habanero sauce, and more mojitos keeps the night rolling as the staff start rockin' the bongos. By the end of the evening, the whole room is salsa dancing. At the end of the night, the owner informs me that his credit card machine is down - but "you can pay me later, I know you're good for it". That's how you build community loyalty. I've been back about thirty times - I love this place. read more

We loved this place! So much so that we ate here 2 nights in a row, bringing friends to check it out the 2nd night. The vaca frita is fantastic. Be sure to ask for their homemade hot sauces. Service was also excellent! read more

Best meal I've had in a very long time. I didn't want it to end! So glad we were recommended this place.

Have had dinner here with the wife and friends in the past. The food made its mark the first time eating here, and hasn't disappointed since. There is something to be said for an owner ( Luam ) being on both sides of the kitchen. The way he makes you feel apart of the "mojito family" is an understatement. Ordered for pick up, and despite the virus restrictions Luam is awesome just like his food. read more

I've been meaning to go here for some time, and was pleased to finally make it happen. The food was good, but didn't blow my mind. I had slow cooked pork with rice & black beans on the side. The pork needed some acid - a squirt of lime or hot sauce. The rice & beans were amazing! And the tostones with garlic sauce were super tasty. I'd love to go back and try more, and hopefully bump up my rating. read more

Well, yes...I'm Venezuelan and the first time I walked into the La Casa del Mojito, I knew it was going to be a nice experience. One of the owners, Michael, took care of me and my boyfriend like we were part of his own family. Ryan, who is American, was trying these Venezuelan-Colombian and Cuban oriented Latin dishes for the first time (drum rolls!) He was thrilled and delighted with the tender, delicious parrilla and sides that Michael recommended to him, and with the mojitos. The first time we visited (we have been at this restaurant countless times) I had the Pabellon, which is my country's national dish. Delicioso! Overall, the food is really good. I have tried pretty much all the dishes on the menu and almost all of them are just like those I ate at home growing up, tasty, warm and home-made like food. The mojitos, OH Lord, maybe the best I have had in the US so far. More than going to a restaurant, spending time and eating at La Casa del Mojito is a home-like, lovely experience. It's a great option if you want heart-warming and unpretentious food with lots of great, thoughtful service. read more

There are three different types of restaurants: 1.) The kind you go to for one specific thing 2.) The kind where you get an idea of how everything else is by whatever it is you order 3.) The kind where you have to go back to try everything on the menu This is the third kind. And that is good. I miss this stuff. It's good for what it is where it is. I'm not going to say it's the best that I've had, but I doubt you can find significantly better in the Seattle area. It sounds like I need to come here for lunch. read more

Amazing food and great service. I went there recently and it was super busy but still managed to get seated quickly. It's a great date spot, the portions are very good too. I've literally lived two blocks away from this restaurant and today was the first time I hit it up with a couple friends. I went there around 1 and it was dead empty except for two older guys chatting away in some Latina-something. Of course there was soccer playing on the TVs, it's a Cuban joint. Speaking of which, this was my first time having Cuban food. I expected it to be like Mexican food but it wasn't close. It was soooo much better. The plantain was amazing and the 'mojito' sauce was amazing. Also, if you ask they will give you additional hot sauces which probably the best habanero sauce I've ever had. I will definetly come back here. I like how quaint the restaurant is and how helpful the staff was. Enjoy! read more

OMG. So good. SO. GOOD. The place is pretty small, but the patio is pretty roomy. I had the pescado guiso. You'll have to refer to the menu for the ingredients, but I can tell you that it was fresh, flavorful and delicious. I didn't feel weighed down or gross, despite the fact that I cleaned my plate. I've ate there for lunch and dinner now, and I'd have to say that the lunch is a better deal for your money. The dinner costs almost twice as much, but seems to be the same amount if not less food than dinner. All their food is always seasoned amazingly, and the mojito sauce is so delicious I wish I knew the recipe! read more

I have never had Cuban food before this restaurant, but I love this place. It is too bad it's located in Lake City, WA and not downtown Seattle, where it belongs! We arrived on a Thursday night and the restaurant had another couple there enjoying their food. For drinks, we ordered the Tucan and a Mojito. Both delish! If you want something fruity, try the Tucan and if you want a classic Mojito, they have the best in the city! For starters, we ordered the Camarones Carmen Miranda, which are shrimp with grilled tropical fruits, bell peppers and garlic. They serve it with a pinch of habanero and fried plantains. This dish is excellent and a must try! We were two people and it was the perfect starter for us. There were plenty of shrimp to go around, around 6 shrimps. For our main courses, the fiance had the Vaca Frita and I had the Parrila Mojito. The Vaca Frita was kind of like a Latino fried rice with beef and veggies. The Parrila Mojito is a steak served with white rice, black beans, fried plantains, fried yuca and a guacamole like sauce. We asked for the habanero dipping sauce because we like our food a tad bit spicy. Every bite was perfection! There was plenty of food, I even had to take half of my dish home. My fiance managed to finish every bite, because it's so good! We also had the tres leches and it reminds me of tres leches I make at home. It was juicy, moist and delish! They even added chocolate sauce to top it off. We will try to come back as often as we can! The service was immaculate, he was attentive, not disturbing, and paid attention to our drinks and our food. He knew the menu and as soon as he observed that we like the habanero sauce, gave us a refill for each course. The atmosphere is very casual, the decor is super tropical, the walls are yellow with red and green borders, the decorations are musical instruments and other native statues. They have flat screen tvs, so if you want to watch football, you can. It super casual and super fun. The two times I have been here, never had to wait, so no need to make reservations! read more

I wrote a review late last night, they may pay for yelp advertising so it did not make it. I will not be back I paid a lot for steak dinner (parrilla mojitos 17.00) that was well done and dry and it could have been tasty but instead it was dried out with no flavor. I asked for medium btw. The owner never even checked back to see how it was, I would have said well done too tough and hard to cut. A matter of fact the owner who introduced himself as one of the owners proudly pointed out to us his business partner in the kitchen with the glasses. He asked us how we found this place we told him that my son found you on yelp. This would have been the first clue to make sure that the food would have been medium not well done. We got here kind of later and we definitely were one of their last customers. The last one were behind us still drinking when we left. There was the problem, I saw the owner/server for us bring out drinks to the back table after that our food was waiting to get placed in our table. I think it sat at least five minutes. Then the owner/guy in the back came out to give the bill to two tables and take care of them. Then once they were done he got our food to us. This was wrong all the way. Usually good food makes up for bad service for me alittle because I will come back but bad food and bad service will have me never come back. Unless a friend really wants to go there but I would tell them my experience. The owner told us it took him 14 years to start making money and the restaurant is not a good business for a marriage because the business becomes the marriage. He was personable in the beginning but really after he took our order it went down hill. I hate to do this for small places but no one should get the service or food we had. Even if it was Sunday night and late there should be no excuses. I had it as a 4 star but it didn't deserve it. I had it at a lower score and my review didn't make it so I mark four. For me it was like a 1 stars but 3 for the rest of the group. They didn't refill the water, the slow service and it bill was expensive 72.00 for 4 people and waters only. We all order dinners not the sandwiches that may be better. read more

The place is pretty straight forward and simple. The only bad thing is the super flat coke. The beer is just fine. :p Wish this place was bigger because the food is pretty darn good overall. I had my friend order something different so I could eat half of his stuff too!! We tried the Cuban style sandwiches and I love the crispy outside (not too hard) and the plentiful amount of meat in the inside. They were both well seasoned and flavorful. The waiter gave us a habanero salsa that is just awesome. The sauce was not too hot to handle and had a good heat to taste balance (for me). The Guacamole that came with our side order of shredded beef stuffed pockets married well with everything including the side order of course. Really laid back place on a small corner street. Prices were very reasonable and the theme of the place was a humbling Latin ambiance that assisted in the full experience of relaxation. Thanks! read more
