This is my favorite restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. Caiparinas with empanadas for a warm up, leading to mojitos or more caiparinas. Or a fabulous main dinner entree. I'm not sure if I'm in Brazil, Argentina or somewhere between here in there across the border. The customer service is the best. They are really warm, and welcoming. I think I cried through my meal. Food is authentic Cuban/Caribbean --and although my little family is Dominican, it felt and tasted like home--all we were missing was the sea breeze and tropical weather. We started off with empanadas (my daughter ended up making this her meal so we selected a few: cheese, beef, chicken). Tip: ask for their special hot sauce! We also ordered a side of tostones (fried plantains). I had the fish guisado (the flavor of the sauce is spot on) and hubs had the Parrilla Mojito. We capped it off with tres leches cake (oh my). We came Friday evening and it was packed. Be prepared (clothing wise) to sit outside. It is also street parking and folks zoom through that strip so be careful crossing with little ones! Lovely, quaint place. Wait staff were all lovely in spite of how busy they were! We will be back and I've already added them to our company's catering list (yes--they do catering). First time trying this place, but saw that it offered take out / pickup, to accommodate the Covid shutdown and we wanted to support local business. Ordered the Parrila Mojito, Lechon Asado, and maduros. Picked up the food a little early, to avoid it being cold. The lechon had cooled slightly by the time we got home, which was to be expected. The Parrila Mojito was cold, like it has been sitting out for quite a while. The beans temp was as if they had just come out of a can. The Maduros were hot. This all just tells me that they made the meal way too early, and that they came out of the kitchen at different times. The only positive is that the lechon still had good flavor. We had dinner from Mojito: two orders of Pabellon. one each of Vaca Frita, Lochon Asado and Parrilla Mojito. The Pabellon, a Venezuelan beef stew with tomato base was terrific; the Lochon, a pork dish. was moist and flavorful; and the Parrilla, a steak dish. was cooked perfectly. The orders came with plenty of Mojito's fabulous hot sauce (don't try it if you don't like it hot!). read more

Great food...had the pescado guisado. But very disappointed that none of the employees I could see (3-4) were wearing masks when I showed up for pick up. With a seventy year old mother at home, the no masks is a dealbreaker for me. read more

If what you're looking for is the best, most thoughtfully prepared dishes served to you in the dining room of your best friends house, this IS the place to go. The food is truly incredibly. Wow! I used to love this place and they had such good food!!! Did they change owners? I recently ordered take out and ordered pescado en guiso and pabellon. The pabellon was sooooooo dry. My hubby couldn't finish it. Then the pescado looked like it was devoured by spaghetti sauce. Wayyyy too much sauce. It was not good at all. The white rice was drowning in the sauce. AND there were no olives in the sauce. It was not good at all. I'm so sad because I used to love this place. Oh.....we ordered dessert but they didn't include it in our order. So sad....I will not come here again. read more

Mojito is a favorite go-to restaurant for my wife and I. In fact, we often choose to go here for our anniversaries and other special occasions because of the amazing, flavorful food, the refreshing drinks, and the welcoming atmosphere every time we are there. Last night, we brought some family members in to share our favorite spot with them and, even though the place was hopping with hungry customers, we were all greeted warmly and enthusiastically by Luam (owner) and our waiter. The drinks were refreshing and relaxing, and the food -- as always -- was delicious and authentic. Mojito is the best! The food is fantastic, and the service is top notch. The wait staff, as well as the owner, are personable and attentive. I had the lechon asado, marinated pork, and it was incredible. The mojitos are definitely a big draw, best in the city. Came here today on an incredibly rainy day. So starved for social contact, when my friend from Florida said let's go get lunch, I was in. The reason I mention this, is how accommodating this restaurant staff is. They looked genuinely happy to see us. They greeted us like friends. There was a table of people eating outside and the staff treated them well while we waited for our order. One manager was bringing food and wine to a catering event. He joked with the table, me and his staff. Commenting on this, for all the unhappy and reluctant staff at other places I have been to. They love you here, I could just show up here and feel the love and be happy. But their delicious food! Got Pecado en Guiso. Great fish dish with a delicious sauce. Came with one of the best salads ever, fresh tomatoes and avocado. All of this for 15.00. Food came out hot off the grill. Really soft and succinct fish and us Seattlities are picky about our fish. Want to try more items from their menu in the future. Food is delicious, inexpensive and the staff is great. My idea of a great place to eat. read more

The congri was not good nor was it congri. It was unflavored rice with black beans and it had excessive water. I took my parents which are Cuban and we come from Miami which have a lot of Cuban food options. Firstly, my mom ordered a cafe con leche and she said it tasted like instant coffee. My dad and mom ordered the vaca frita plate which comes with "congri" I ordered lechon asado which came with "congri" and tostones and yuca frita, which it only came with one piece of yuca . The pork was flavorless as well. The manager was nice and gave us a free drink. If you are Cuban (or want some good Cuban food) don't go there! Had a unfortunate interaction with the owner here. I arrived to a gaggle of young men being buddy-buddy in the threshold of the pick up window. They moved aside except for one who greeted me. It was an awkward moment of not really being sure if it was an employee due to the "hanging out" energy. I said I was here for pick up and he started talking about my tattoos. I was pretty confused by this and asked if he worked there. He informed me he was the owner. I immediately felt extremely taken aback by this interaction. Then the peanut gallery basically made fun of me being like "who's this creep, who's this strange man talking to me" I didn't feel harassed or creeped out, I genuinely was baffled by this greeting. I'm straight to the point because I want to carry on with my business, it's been a long day and I'm hungry!! They all made me feel like I was the one being rude for being direct but when I walked away -- this whole interaction left a very unprofessional and inappropriate taste. I would give their food 4.5 stars, it's truly a unique flavor that's hard to find in Seattle and I love how full I feel without feeling heavy or sick. But I don't think I'll go back again when the owner is this unprofessional. It's almost 2022 let's stop making comments on other peoples bodies, but especially when you're representing your own business. read more

Went there last Saturday after reading some reviews yelp and this place did not disappoint! The restaurant is rather small and a full night, seating was quite tight but I guess it adds a bit to the quaint feel of this place. My husband and I started with tostones as and appetizer and chose mojitos! And omg, I had been craving flavorful Caribbean/Latin for a while and this definitely hit the spot! Haha my husband had the vaca frita and I opted for the pescado en guiso and everything was just so well seasoned and cooked! Delicious! I went to Mojito around a year ago and am just remembering to write a review. Whoops. So things may have changed but this is from my experience here last May. The space is very small so there may be a wait for seating. To go you can just take out, in case the wait is too long. The staff were very friendly and the small space in the restaurant made it cozy, but could stand to be a little bigger honestly. The food was very good, but nothing extremely memorable. I am very very picky with my Cuban food and this place did a good job for the Seattle area. There are a few rivals for being the best ACTUAL Cuban food in the area and unfortunately I personally don't feel Mojito beats the other ones. Overall, this restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. They could benefit from a bigger space and faster service. I would probably come back and it wasn't bad for just happening upon it! read more

Have had dinner here with the wife and friends in the past. The food made its mark the first time eating here, and hasn't disappointed since. There is something to be said for an owner ( Luam ) being on both sides of the kitchen. The way he makes you feel apart of the "mojito family" is an understatement.
