Having lived in Arizona for the better half of my adult life, I had high hopes for a restaurant name Mojave. I have driven past this restaurant during the work week and vowed to give it a try some time since we live in Northwest Cobb County, and it would be a trek but worth it, if as advertised by the delicious and promising sounding menu plus beautiful venue. First, we ordered a pitcher of classico margaritas. I have to admit, as a non-driver arriving at the restaurant with a slight buzz from a previous bar we had visited, I was able to totally sober up over a pitcher of Margaritas at Mojave---just saying! Our first disappointment came with the bland chips and salsa we paid $5.95 for. The "chips" were unsalted whole deep fried corn tortillas which seems to be the style in some of the "new age' southwestern/Latino style restaurants these days. After a while we were able to get our waiter's attention for shaker of salt which we added to the salsa in order to be able to taste our appetizer! Now for the food First, both of our dishes arrived COLD---yuk. My dinner companion had never had paella before, so I described for him the delicious dish complete with crispy rice crust as is traditional with any paella along with seafood, sausage, chicken, and vegetables. In addition to being cold on the top layer, the rice was soupy, sausage was non-existent, and over-all flavor---BLAND. No crispy crust. I had the enchiladas--One steak and one chicken. We ordered a side of Mexican street corn to share. The first thing I noticed was that my enchilada plate was cold. I was able to get the waiter's attention and asked him to please have my plate warmed up, which took less than a minute before he brought it back again, only slightly warmer: never asked if it was ok and never saw him again afterwards. During that time, we tried the street corn, and it was "meh". It just didn't seem cooked, was barely warm, and was underflavored compared to other street corn we've had. The worst was that the tortillas on my two enchiladas were totally RAW. They had not been cooked before the tortillas were rolled which made them inedible. We piled the seafood shells and raw tortillas on a small plate in the middle of the table (we asked our waiter earlier for a bowl for the seafood shells and he said -"oh, just use that empty saucer"). The plate soon ran over on to the table but no one ever stopped to replace it. We saw several manager types stick their head out of the kitchen and one who strolled by several times but seemed more focused on how quickly to process the bills for all us diners. Only giving this place 4 stars because it took someone at least 10 mins to even acknowledge our table. People just kept walking past us until a very sweet server came by and started getting our orders. The food came out quick and was very good. The were a bit slow with service which I did not understand because all the tables weren't even full. Maybe they were short on waiters. I wanted a margarita and decided to visit Mojave. Ordered the classic margarita and it was disappointing. Came on a highball glass and hardly any salt. The plantain chips were obviously reheated and soggy. Ordered the steak Tacos and the fish tacos. Both were lacking in flavor, not to mention that the server went on an on on how good the flour tortillas were since they were made in-house. Ordered the tacos with flour tortillas and they brought corn tortillas. The truth is that the whole experience was a very disappointing meal. Brunch review - I think dinner might be better? Idk. The atmosphere is really nice here and feels a little more upscale, Bloody Mary was good. The food is another story... Calamari - extremely rubbery, likely not even calamari tbh. Sauce was good. Eggs Benedict - Abysmal. English muffin was not toasted, rubbery Canadian bacon, hollandaise sauce was sparse and tasted like instant, nothing exciting going on to make it feel upscale just looked and tasted like any old diner. Home style potatoes tasted like the frozen kind and came with cheese.. the cheese was overly toasted which resulted in the entire top coming off in a large melted slab. No flavor. French toast - good, we all enjoyed it but def recommend the sauce on the side as it was insanely sweet. Overall, would not dine here again. read more

Wow, what an amazing experience at Mojave, the new Latin-American restaurant on Powers Ferry Rd, near the Chattahoochee River. The Mojave Burger was very good. Plus, I tried a pork taco (peach salsa) and a tamale with chicken verdi, all very tasty. If you were a regular at Rose & Crown, you see many of those same staff members now serving at Mojave. Not a good first experience with this restaurant. My wife and I were excited to give Mojave a try for the first time. We had a reservation for 8:45pm, we did happen to arrive early, as I asked the host for outdoor seating, early enough for one to be available by our reservation time. We were actually sat by 8:20p which didn't really mean anything... as we sat there for 24 min without a server, as PLENTY of them walked by, no one stopping to ask if anyone had been to our table... as there were no WATER or silverware. We tried to be patient, as we know wait staff has been short everywhere. But the fact that we had to STOP someone else to let them know our presence hadn't even been acknowledged, was the beginning of what only got worse. We assumed that once A server finally spoke to us the night would have gotten better... it didn't! After finally getting waters, we ordered two cocktails and two appetizers. At that time our host, whom may also be a manager came by and said he hadn't told a server they had been sat and would comp one of our appetizers. The appetizers came to the table, of which we had to begin eating with our hands, to enjoy hot, as we had yet to receive any cutlery. We stopped a busser and asked could we please have silverware, that alone was another 6 min. As we're FINISHING up our appetizers, we finally receive cutlery and our cocktails. Pretty much over the whole dinner at this point. But with it being so late, at this point it's our only option. We order our entrees, and although they were hot, the paella was VERY salty. My wife ordered the same cocktail she initially had but in a different glass (a shorter glass in size) the drink was so different to the point that she didn't even drink it. We took like 2 bites of our meals and were more than ready to go. So that's just what we did. For the amount of money spent, I definitely expected MUCH more and better attentiveness, ESPECIALLY having had to wait 22 min to even just be greeted! read more

The Ceviche tasted like cucumber and tomato, I could not taste any of citrus. I had the Paella which was not good either for $27.00. Made a reservation for our anniversary and this place was not worth it. The hostess greeted us with attitude and once we sat down it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Ordered a few appetizers: meatballs, corn bisque, and the blue corn bread. All were mediocre at best and meatballs were not good at all. Ordered the paella - rice was so watery and the seafood was not fresh at all not to mention it was saltier than the ocean and had to send it back. Ended up ordering the chicken enchiladas which was okay. Sort of hard to mess up enchiladas. Drinks were good but over all the atmosphere, service and food were very poor. read more

Wonderful restaurant. My boyfriend and I went for the first time tonight. The set up is beautiful and felt nice and quaint. We were greeted and seated immediately. Service was top notch. Our waitress was Julia, and she was very knowledgeable on the menu and was able to answer all of our questions (we had quite a few). She checked on us throughout the evening and really did go above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our drinks came out pretty quick and the wait for out food wasn't long either. Now the food is beyond AMAZING. The menu has a variety of options, but it's not overwhelmingly large. Portion sizes are huge, food was flavorful and presented really well. Prices range. You can get a plate for $38, but there are several options around the standard $15-$25 range. (And a la carte tacos for less than $4!) Overall I would give this spot a 100000000/10! We will definitely be back to check out their brunch (featuring bottomless mimosas) or one of their wine and tapas event! read more

The scenery is soooo pretty, I was hoping to get a seat in the patio or next to a window, but got sat in the middle of the restaurant. And warning, it is kinda loud in the restaurant especially because there are very big parties of like 10+ mostly at night. Not their fault at all tho, I would just request to be sat elsewhere if I went again. The food is delicious & you can tell they use high quality ingredients to serve to customers. I was really looking forward to coming here after Rose and Crown closed. My friends/coworkers and I frequently visited Rose and Crown and always had a great time there so obviously we were excited when they told us they were rebranding and moving down the street. When we got there, we were all impressed by the aesthetics of both exterior and interior. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks.. Still super impressed we even texted OUR manager and suggested having OUR company Christmas dinner here. However, when we all got our food we were all a bit confused. The menu is set to seem a la carte, so I, unknowingly, ordered an extra side of potato wedges w/ my burger.... when l saw my burger already had fries, I told the serve my mistake and he said "well you don't have to eat them... it won't change the price". I-- We all continued our meals and tried to make the best. One of my friends told us how much she didn't like her food and had us try her mole tamale and we all were disgusted, one of my friends even spitting out the food. When our server came out she asked if we wanted her to clear anything, my friend told her how much she didn't like the tamale and she followed w "aw that sucks... maybe one of your friends wants it" we all said no and all she said was "oh man that's my favorite, that's too bad" After all of us couldn't deal w the service and attitude, we finally decided we needed to speak to a manager. When we asked, all the server said was "that's fine". I saw her speak to one in front of us, and she seemed very nonchalant. A manager finally walked over to us and we told him how we were trying not to complain but our server clearly didn't seem to care, and that we were just all hoping to have the same experience we had at Rose and Crown. All he said was "Ok, i'll take care of it". I thanked him for listening and told him we were more than happy to pay for our drinks. ...... the server came back and STILL charged us for our food that we clearly didn't want. What did he take care of?????? We spoke to different managers and servers and expressed our disappointment and yet, no one even apologized or asked how they could make things right for us. We sat down and everything was perfectly fine initially. Then it progressed down hill. The drinks were great (they served an underage person alcohol btw), however when the food came it all tasted TERRIBLE and none of us enjoyed anything that we ordered. The staff was rude to us when we made a complaint and they said it would be taken care of, however, my two friends still had to pay for their meal (which we were all very confused about). I have never complained at a restaurant before, but this was absolutely disgusting; disgusting service, disgusting people, and disgusting food. I hate having to do this, I really do but I highly suggest not coming here. We were never told sorry, or anything of that nature. It was just straight up rude. This is a beautiful restaurant whose food does match up to the ambiance or prices. I ordered short ribs with the potatoes au gratin and Mexican street corn. The potatoes were raw and hard with cheese on top. I had to send them back only to be served raw potatoes a second time. The spare ribs were all fat with a few strings of meat and bone and the Mexican street corn was flavorless and charred too long . We ordered wings for an appetizer which were also charred too long and were fatty with no flavor. It is safe to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. read more
