Moignet really specializes in mochi beignets and they taste good! Highly recommend eating them fresh - the moignets are slightly crunchy on the outside and have a nice mochi filling. I also got mine with a strawberry dipping sauce which was light and had a hint of strawberry. Definitely a unique spot.

Mom needed coffee, so we stopped in. Only an Americano. No biggie! They had a little counter with napkins, utensil, and straws, but the cream was behind the counter. So she had to get it for us. It wasn't enough but my mom didn't want to bother them. I did finally got to try the mango mochi! I'd go back for another for sure. There were several tables that were occupied but this was a Monday morning and it wasn't packed. I've seen the line out the door on a holiday weekend.

Yes, the hype for the mango mochi is real. Yes, order it. Yes, it's worth every bite. I believe it's a real mango inside. It's juicy, sweet, and ripe. The mochi is the perfect texture, and I didn't know that mochi pairs well with real fruit. I usually have frozen mochi, so it was a nice surprise to eat it this way. I also ordered the beignet mochi, but the filling was left to be desired. Inside, the beignet was mostly empty with a small dollop of mochi. I don't think I will order it again. But I will definitely order the mango mochi again. It's truly memorable. Moinet Cafe calls itself a social cafe, but I'm really unclear about what that means. Most social cafes offer community events, support social causes, or act as a local gathering hub. I'm not sure if these things exist at Moinet. I didn't see anything on their website or in their cafe, so it's a bit unclear. Chef's kiss to Yuka Takamizawa, who is the Lead Pastry Chef at Moignet Café. According to their website, she has full creative control over the menu. She combines her Japanese heritage with French pastry influences. If Moinet Cafe is looking for a social event to host, I would recommend a meet and greet or a Q and A with Yuka. I'd be curious to know more about her and how she came up with the concept behind her unique pastries. I would definitely come back for the mango mochi. I'm looking forward to seeing what more Moinet Cafe does with their self-proclaimed title of "social cafe". This part of their business could be improved. Mango mochi, beignet mochi, and cakes served with a social cause... now that would truly be unique.

We went to Moignet yesterday for some breakfast Matcha Mochi Beignets. The wait was about 20 mins for the 6 Beignets and there was plenty of seating inside. The Beignets were just ok, they didn't have as much flavor as we had hoped unfortunately. The cafe was nice inside though.

I was so excited to try this place. Maybe too excited? The beignets were made fresh with a dusting of matcha sugar powder? It could be a tag sweeter since I didn't get the dipping sauce or maybe that's the point to have to add on a sauce? I also got the mango mochi was tasty but the ratio of mochi with mango was off. Which it was more of a balanced bite. Service was great and very cute place! Not sure if I would go back but glad I at least tried it

5/10 /26 ... got their before opening so I could get a hold of their popular mango mochi. Ordered 5 pieces , $7.50 per piece and also the beignets. The mango mochi is good . I wish there was a little bit more cream filling in it but I can definitely make these. Mochi Beignets are good and you have a choice in dipping sauce: strawberry, hazelnut, mango, yuzu and not sure what else. Service was good. There are seatings inside and outside. Glad I was able to try them. Happy eats!

Dropped in on a whim and tried the mango moignet that everyone has been hyped about. Luckily, I found a spot and made my way to the place. It was busy and there was a long line. The place was packed but everything looked worth trying and the wait. Freshmess you can taste. Next time I'll dine in as it seemed very cozy. I'll be back for sure.

This place gets busy! I was there about 30m after it opened and they didn't have much out. Im not longer listening to any influncers or TikTok videos my husband sends me. This place sucked! They are slow at making what they are famous for and they dont have many selections. What's worse is their beignets, the mochi ones, was one of the grossest things I've ever eaten. They're famous for it but it was just outright terrible. This was NOT my cup of tea. Its insanely small inside and with how many people who fancy this place, it gives me anxiety. Luckily there are plenty of benches and tables outside to sit and wait about 30m for your food. This place just isn't worth it. If I had just gotten the mango dessert I got, id have a bit of a different opinion. The mango was excellent. As far as everything else, its overpriced and terrible tasting.

Wow! Is all I can say, it's like heaven in your mouth. There's a line for a reason, the mochi mango cream is the main character, something so simple, yet so tasty. I've been here back to back days just for it. I am now on my 3rd mango mochi in the last two days. addiction is an understatement. The moignet is really good but I'm just not a matcha girly so I did not enjoy the matcha powder on them. I would really prefer regular sugar powder. On my second day, I decided to try the mochi ice cream which is literally a scoop of ice cream wrapped in their delicious, soft, pillowy mochi, it was pretty delightful. I may be back Tomorrow.

The mango mochi was $7.50, and Moignet were 6 for $9. I thought both were good, but nothing that makes you want to deal with the super crowded parking lot, and the crowd. Mango mochi used two sides of the mango, wrapped in a soft mochi, and powdered over it. It has the texture of soft and softer, so this could either be your favorite food type or something you would avoid. Flavor was fresh, light in sugar, and subtle, but for $7.50 it's a bit of a splurge. Moignets were best served fresh, and comes with some dipping sauces if you like to make it more flavorful. This was perfect to go with some coffee or tea. Dipping sauces I tried were strawberry and a lemon yuzu... which I prefer the lemon flavored. I would come back more for these than the mochi Mango dessert. Tight seating areas inside, but has outside seating as well. Decor is modern, and was the Las Vegas type of vibe to it... golden trims, chrome accents, etc.

I've visited this place a few times now and I thought I wrote a review a long time ago... but I guess now. So here's my review... I enjoy coming here for the food however the layout of the sitting is a bit cramped inside. When there's a line waiting to order and then a lot of ppl sitting down eating there's really no room to move around so it's a bit uncomfortable. Now for the food, I absolutely love their mochi beignets. It has a sprinkle of matcha powdered sugar and it's just so yummy! Best eaten warm and be warned, it gets messy with the powdered sugar. Second thing that I love are the fresh mango mochi, with or without the cream - they are both delish! I had also tried their butter squash soup (it's a seasonal item) and I also enjoyed it very much, it was rich and creamy and I wanted to drink a gallon of it. I like the concept of the egg sandos however it was difficult to eat and then became quite messy. So I'll pass on those in the future. I actually haven't tried their chocolate cake but my boyfriends manager loved it the first time I got it for her so I've gotten it a couple more times for her bcs she said it's the best cake she's ever had. Parking in this shopping center is crazy. I think a lot of ppl park across the street at the 99 Ranch Market and walk over. If you are dining in, they have outdoor seating as well. They do have a server but I believe there's only one so they are bringing out the food, grabbing stuff, cleaning off tables... but there's still some self service aspect as well so it might be more helpful if they either hire more servers or make it all self service and ppl go pick up their own food when it's ready. When I dined in, my mom and I had to wait quite a bit to flag the lady working to ask for boxes and stuff. All in all I enjoy this place and I like how they do seasonal items.

    Jieun L.

Ambiance: a cute cafe - loved their outdoor seating option Service: not a lot of staff so it's a little slower to get food but they try to be fast and get things over to you Food: got the mango matcha. enjoyed it but wish they had almond milk as an option. only has whole milk and oat milk which i prefer neither but got the oat milk. would've liked to see what it would've tasted like with almond milk. my boyfriend got the ice mocha & said it's sweet and can't really taste the coffee flavor. we both got the jockys egg sando. i got it with ham & he got it with bacon. ham was harder to eat cause i had to keep cutting it. next time, id pick bacon. but it was really good!! mango mochi was amazing - 10/10 would come back to try out other items!

The beignets were not like what I expected. They have the consistency of a Chinese donut versus a beignet. I was expecting light airy beignet with mochi center. The mochi itself was good but the outer part was too thick and sticky. The mango on the other hand was amazing. I would come for that. Long lines but worth a try. Not my favorite beignet but worth the try.

Ask the Community - Moignet A Social Cafe

If we buy the mango mochi in the morning, will it still be good to eat at night?

If you refrigerate the mochi it should be ok.

Is there anything vegan here to eat and/or drink?

Mochi is usually vegan but not sure about this place since e haven't been

Are the mango mochi and moinets gluten free by any chance? And any other gluten free options on the menu?

Mochi is made with rice flour. The mango mochi will be gluten free. If the moinets' recipe is only rice flour and not any other flour, the moinets may also be gluten free but it would be ask the cafe staff.

Is this table service or order and carry your tray?

When I went, I ordered at the counter and they brought my order to me at a table where I sat myself.

Do they still offer moignets? I read a recent review saying that they don't.

Yes they do! At least in November

Takeout follows similar rules -- you'll still likely have to wait, just like dine-in customers. If 2:30 PM passes and they can't seat you, they'll let you place a takeout order for whatever's still available, based on your position on the sign-in/waiting list. If you're only coming for nigiri, expect a wait, but the line moves fairly quickly. On a recent Friday afternoon around 1:30 PM, we waited about 20-30 minutes. They bring people inside in small groups and hand you a basket to carry your items. As for the nigiri itself, it's very solid. The seafood is noticeably fresher than what you'd find at a typical Japanese grocery or market. For example, the salmon is cut from a proper fillet rather than taken from a can, and the difference is clear. Stay tuned for the bowl review...

The deep-fried shrimp and tuna were fried perfectly with a nice crisp texture. If it wasn't so late, I probably would've kept ordering more. But the real star? The Otoro (bluefin tuna belly) sashimi. Absolute must order. It literally melts in your mouth and had zero fishy smell, just pure buttery goodness. My wife isn't usually a sushi person, but she ended up loving it and ate way more than I expected. That alone should tell you something. It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture.
