Original Matcha Latte with Whipped Matcha
    Annie L.

Very clean inside and clean bathrooms. Not as spacious but very narrow. Seating is not chairs and tables but long against-wall seating with small stools for tables. Definitely for Yelp & the Gram where servers ask if you want to record them making your matcha, haha! Ordered original matcha latte with whole milk. It wasn't overly strong matcha but not sweet. Next time I would ask for it to be sweeter. Caution - the area and parking lot is a bit sketchy and I went daytime at 2pm.

During my quick trip to Vegas, I decided to try Hatoya. Since it was our second matcha consumption that day, my bf and I decided to share the Midori matcha latte, which cost almost $12. Extremely expensive given how much ice was placed in the cup prior to staff asking if I wanted to film them pouring the matcha into the cup. The drink itself was just okay. The staff was friendly and welcoming and luckily, it was pretty empty when we walked in. Don't think it's worth the visit in my opinion.

Omg this place is so good. I came back twice and will visit every time I'm in town. Matcha is addicting! We got there right when they opened to avoid any lines. The menu is straight forward with 4 types of matcha (original, roasted, midori, joyo3). You can have it straight up or latte style. It comes unsweetened with raw cane sugar syrup as default at no charge. Anything else is extra like brown sugar or fruit syrups. You can also add toppings like ice cream, matcha whip cream or sticky rice balls. After you make your purchase at the first registered, the next table over is where they make your drink. They have it down to a science like in a lab. It's IG worthy when they pour. The first time, I got roasted matcha latte with brown sugar and espuma whip cream. This was so creamy, roasty, and rich. Sadly I finished within a few sips due to the amount of ice the cup. Second time I tried the original latte. This was more earthy, grassy, bold like your typical matcha. Next time I'll get it straight up. If you're a matcha fan, definitely try this place out. It's their first and only US location.

This was such a cute cafe with very minimal seating but is very aesthetic. The drinks are much pricier so you are definitely paying for the quality since the baristas hand whisk and make the cream top on the spot for each order. However, I wouldn't get this again but because it was so pricy. The drinks were amazing, the midori match wasn't bitter, and the coconut matcha had the perfect ratio. But, the matcha icecream was too icy and wasn't smooth.

Matcha lovers, this spot is legit. Yesterday afternoon, the Hubby and I finally checked out Hatoya in Spring Valley! The whole setup is so modern, zen and peaceful. From the individual ceremonial stations, stone seating, down to the super cool neon matcha-in-a-cup decor, I really enjoyed the ambiance. Watching the entire ritual in person was such an experience. They whisked the ceremonial Uji matcha right in front of us and invited us to record! That alone was a plus! I had the Matcha Latte with Salted Cream Foam and the Hubby had a Matcha Float with a cute ball of matcha ice cream on the side. That rich umami flavor in every sip, OMG! 10/10 recommendation for a Sunday matcha date.

This is my first visit to Hatoya. To preface, I love my matcha drinks and make my own at home as well, so I was excited to see how this place was. I came in with the expectation that the drinks will not be too sweet and more tea-forward. Service (5/5): The staff were friendly and helpful. We asked about the different matcha types they carry and their recommendations. You get to see your drink being made from start to finish which is a nice touch. There was a small corner where merchandise and matcha powder is sold as well. Ambiance (3/5): The shop itself was small, and monochrome themed. It was a little too dark for my liking, but there's a tiny seating area for those that want to sit and enjoy their drink (not so much for studying or anything like that). Food/Drink (3/5): We opted to get their signature matcha latte with ice cream and mochi balls, lightly sweetened with rock cane sugar. The matcha was smooth and not grainy at all. The flavor was slightly nutty and full bodied. The ice cream flavor was bold but not very creamy. To my surprise, the mochi balls were a little on the denser side, and lacked flavor. Even with these elements together, the whole drink felt 1 note. There wasn't any particular component that stuck out to me. Even with light sweetness, it didn't show through. Like others have mentioned, the price is on the higher side. This drink was around $14 because everything is an add-on. Overall (3.5/5): It was worth a first try. The matcha is definitely made with premium ingredients and the staff were hospitable. However, considering all the points above, I personally prefer other matcha places in town.

I can see why this is a popular matcha spot in Vegas! Definitely a little on the pricey side with all the extra toppings but I wanted to get the full experience haha. I think without all the toppings it's just as good. The ice cream made the matcha flavor deeper. I think the rice balls can be skipped though. It didn't have much flavor and the texture wasn't as chewy as expected. However, if you're a fan of matcha for its rich, earthy taste rather than sweetness, I 100% recommend.

Let me start by saying that if you want the classic matcha with the matcha ice cream on top and the rice mochi balls, expect to pay around $20 for the drink. The quality of the matcha was good, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. Personally, I wish it had been a little sweeter. I asked for extra sweetener after they made my drink, but it still wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste. That said, I do tend to prefer sweeter drinks. I think it's worth checking out, especially since it's the first U.S. location. If you've been to Japan, I'd say it's pretty similar to what you get there. Overall, I'd consider it more of a one-time experience just to try it.

They're so cute, they asked if I wanted to record them pouring the matcha! How can I say no? They make it right in front of you, I loved that. It was so cool to watch. They were very friendly and respectful, they interacted well with my It's so elegant and clean inside! I only ordered one drink to try today, and I loved it! Definitely one of my favorite matcha spots now, can't wait to try more

Came with a friend and we got their roasted matcha and regular matcha. We got explained the different types and taste. I really enjoyed the matcha taste and flavor was definitely very strong. It is on the pricier side, but definitely worth it if you love matcha! The inside was a chill shop with a couple tables and benches.

For a cafe that specializes in premium matcha the drink falls short of all expectations, especially at its price point. We got the Joyo3 and the taste was flat, no strong matcha notes. Feels like a gimmick when asked if we wanted to take a picture of the matcha pour. For $13 there are plenty of places you can go to where the matcha will have 1) better taste 2) bigger portion size 3) better priced and value. Do yourself a favor and skip this - for the owners of this establishment - please reevaluate what you are serving and how this compares to the surrounding competition.

Hatoya is yet another matcha spot in town! It is located near Chinatown in a smaller plaza with decent parking. We were greeted once we walked in. They have menus on the counter and a small seating area. They have a variety of drinks and topping options. My daughter ordered an original matcha latte and added strawberry syrup, I ordered a hojicha latte with cane sugar. All drinks come unsweetened with cane sugar or brown sugar available for sweeteners. Once your number is called you go to the counter and they ask if you want to record the pour. We both liked our drinks, Next time I won't add any sweetener but it was still ok. Staff is friendly. They asked us how we were liking our drinks. A lot of people came in as it seems to be very popular. Will come back again to try more drinks!

I was so excited to try this famous matcha café! My friend highly recommended it after trying the location in Japan. Who knew that there was another one in Vegas, of all places? When I arrived, there was already a line out the door, which wrapped around the corner. However, it was still fairly easy to find parking. I quickly got in line and waited, though I cannot remember for how long. I think it was also extra crowded because it was the weekend that BTS was here for a concert, so it probably isn't usually like this. While standing in line, we got to review the menu and ask questions to this worker who was managing the line. He regulated the number of people inside the store, which I actually appreciated because it made the inside feel less crowded/stuffy. It was a little confusing to order, but the cashier lady was super kind and helpful in guiding me through the menu. I ended up ordering the Joyo3 matcha because it was supposedly the highest grade of matcha that they had here (and it was definitely the most expensive). I paid about $13. The experience itself is really cool because you get to watch the workers measure out the matcha, whisk it in a specific way, and pour it right in front of your eyes. It's perfect for a filming opportunity. Everything in the store was very aesthetically pleasing; however, it is more of a grab-and-go type of spot; you're not really sitting and enjoying your matcha there. There's not enough space in the store, nor are there real tables. Unfortunately, my drink was a real letdown--and I don't say that lightly. I was so, so excited to try Hatoya (I dragged my whole family here), so imagine my disappointment when I took my first sip and grimaced. I get that it's high-quality, ceremonial-grade matcha, but it was just so bitter...like it could have benefited from some simple syrup. I think perhaps a latte would have been a better option. But sweetness aside, the matcha itself was just very hard to drink, almost rough. That being said, this is more of a reflection of my own lack of expertise with different strains of matcha. Regardless, all I know is that I paid a lot of money for a drink that I could not even finish half of. So all in all, I guess I was just very disappointed with my drink, however, I did enjoy everything else about my experience here. It might be very authentic matcha, but I just sadly could not appreciate it to its fullest...
