Hey y'all! Guess what? Someone surprised me with an early birthday cake, since my birthday is this month and listen... This little red velvet cake from Tous les Jours on Spring Mountain had me asking one question: HOW can such a small cake give you this much BIG taste?! The cake itself is soooo moist, and whatever that creamy goodness is between those layers and on top -- whether it's cream cheese icing, buttercream, or a little bit of both -- it is SMOOTH. Creamy, light, and it literally melts in your mouth. And they got the cake-to-icing ratio just right. Nobody is fighting through three inches of frosting trying to find the cake. But y'all know I notice the little things, and Tous les Jours is DETAIL-ORIENTED. The presentation told me they care about what leaves their bakery before you even take the first bite. Look at the ribbon wrapped around the cake. Look at the beautiful packaging. They even included candles, matches AND a cake cutter -- and the matches were tucked right inside the cake cutter! Now THAT is paying attention to details. You could literally pick this cake up and have everything you need for somebody's birthday celebration right there in the box. And can we talk about the size? It's perfect. It makes you kinda want to keep the whole thing to yourself... but then it tastes so good you want somebody else to taste what you're tasting. Since I can't give y'all a slice, I guess I can at least share with y'all just how DEEEEEELICIOUS this is! And the price? Surprisingly NOT expensive, especially considering the taste, presentation and attention to detail. Hey, if you have a sweet tooth -- or heavens, even if you don't -- treat yourself. True Matcha is a cool little drink shop serving matcha, ube, and soon, coffee drinks in Chinatown. It was a little hard to find, but found it next door to Tous Les Jours. There was no line to order. The worker recommended the True Matcha, their most popular drink, which was a matcha latte with some vanilla cream. Even though it came with four pumps of sweetener, it still tasted a tiny bit bitter, so I was able to add one more pump, which made it taste much better. The shop was cool and a little dark, with plenty of small tables to sit at. I didn't stay long, mainly got the drink to go. The workers was nice and made the drink quickly. This is the spot for an afternoon pick me up and I love that it's so close to my place. I've been here twice now in less than a month and both times were nothing short of amazing. The double matcha half sweet is still really sweet IMO, I can't imagine the full sweetness but it's balanced and the matcha cold foam on top makes it ridiculously flavorful. The shop has such a cute, modern vibe with lots of greenery, and the decor is so cute. The staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming. They have self-order kiosks, which made ordering quick and easy. I ordered the True Matcha and a Matcha Float. True Matcha was so good! I'm still pretty new to drinking matcha, and this one was exactly what I was looking for. I stopped into True Matcha totally unplanned. We were driving in the area and saw that there was a matcha place here. We we're stuck behind a bus and then we saw that there was a big sign for matcha and that the reviews for the store or really good. We decided to come in and we just saw that it was a little bit hidden but it was in the far corner. We ordered a true matcha and then double matcha. Some of the other items looked amazing and we want to go back for sure. The shaved ice looks great and some of the other desserts look amazing too. Wow! This was a good spot for a sweet and refreshing treat! I am a fan of matcha and thought I should give this place a shot. It is tucked away right next to Tour de jours cafe/bakery so it could easily be missed. Upon entering, there were a lot of seating areas and felt like it was a tight space. Maybe less seating area and a wider spot for people to go to the counter since the counter was in the back. A group of 4 went in first then me and we were all standing right by the door to go in and it wasn't busy. I would suggest changing out the layout or a line separation to make it a bit clearer to browse the menu and order. I scooted my way in to order lol I would also suggest lowering the music a bit because I was expecting the ambiance to be a nice calm and quiet café to sit and relax while having my drink but it felt awkward with the loud music and seat arrangements lol. I got the Matcha float since I wanted ice cream and something creamy on a warm summer day. And it was my Friday, so it was a good day to treat myself. The matcha float had matcha soft served ice cream with a matcha latte. The matcha latte was pretty strong. The ice cream mixed in with the latte was perfect. They only use ceremonial matcha, and you can tell from the flavor - it tastes like quality ingredients. Stopped by True Matcha after lunch for dessert because we wanted to try their shaved ice, but unfortunately they weren't serving it that day. We ended up getting the matcha soft serve instead, and it was surprisingly really good--rich, creamy, and full of matcha flavor. The only downside was the wait. I came back with my family on my recent trip to Vegas to have them try. I can honestly say the quality of the drinks has not changed from 6 months ago! The matcha drinks are of the same quality and taste! They even have added a few new items to their menu since my last visit. The pistachio matcha was my favorite on this recent trip. Went to this place for the first time today and I am so glad I came here instead of the other cafe I was originally going to! Soon as I came in Ryan greeted me and was super polite and patient, since it was my first time Ryan recommended the Mango Matcha which was such a good choice!!! My second visit to True Matcha and so far, I am still a fan! Located in a shopping plaza, True Matcha may (or may not) be hard to miss. They're right next to Tous Les Jours. I really like how green or how "matcha" the interior is. For me, it's very inviting and fitting for what they sell. Not only do they sell matcha lattes, but they also have other matcha treats like a parfait. My vists here have been quick, so I've only ordered their Double Matcha. Yelp Review 2026 #35: This used to be a Korean chicken wing spot with a soft serve machine in the kitchen. Now, there's no more chicken wings and just all things matcha. They have matcha lattes, matcha soft serve, matcha desserts, and those 10 Yen pancakes (more life waffles/ taiyaki) that are popular in Japan. But their 10 Yen pancakes here at True Matcha have different fillings and not just cheese. Even when this place was still only serving chicken wings, there's only 1 employee behind the counter who takes orders, makes the orders and serves them! I can see how overwhelming it would be if this place was busy. But it also tells you that things are already pre-made. So, don't expect freshly whisked matcha. When I scanned the QR code to Yelp, she noticed and seemed to start to care. I actually got a half hearted thank you after I took pics & was walking out. The drink itself was a thick matcha cream top and the blueberry was super thick/sweet/artificial tasting. I honestly don't know if it world have tasted better if I didn't have such a bad experience with the cold service.
