This review is based on a single visit on 9/11/2025. I was looking forward to a delicious matcha drink and the Ube Latte with Matcha creme I ordered HIT THE SPOT! The drink was an ube-flavored milk topped with a thick layer of matcha creme. I loved seeing the wide variety of drink options on their menu... so many interesting choices - including Coconut Creme Matcha, Chestnut Creme Matcha, Pistachio Creme Matcha, and a plethora of matcha-based desserts. The entrance is a bit confusing as the sign says Bobae Noodle shop, but rest assured you're going the right direction. Upon entering the vibes were immaculate. Very bright and green decor which leaned into the Matcha experience. The young lady at the front was very helpful in me deciding on exactly what I wanted. I went with the True Matcha which she stated was their most popular. It was a regular Matcha with Vanilla Cream. I was given the option for an alternative milk along with determining the level of sweetness I wanted. I received my drink fairly quickly . Upon tasting it, I did request to add strawberry syrup. I thought I was a "True Matcha" drinker at other places but this establishment truly provided an authentic Matcha taste. For anyone who doesn't really like Matcha and wants all of the artificial additives, this is not the place for you. I thoroughly enjoyed my Matcha Latte and will be back to try something different. Matcha your vibe all day!!! I wanted to see if there were any new matcha places in Spring Mountain since some places have lines pass the door on a weekend and I happen to find this new place on Yelp! What a find! It's located in a bigger plaza next to Tours de Jours. It was kind of hard to find at first but you'll eventually find it when you walk in the door. It's next to the noodle house. Cute Matcha Spot, But Service Could Be Better This is a cute little matcha stand tucked inside the entrance of Boba Noodle House. Drinks run about $7-$8 for a 16oz cup, and while they tasted decent, nothing really stood out. Seating is minimal, but it's convenient since you can grab a matcha and enjoy Korean fried chicken in the same spot. The cashier didn't seem very knowledgeable about the drinks and had to ask her coworker whether they contained dairy and if substitutes were available. It turns out all their drinks contain dairy because of the cream, so my husband couldn't order anything. I tried the Chestnut Matcha ($7) since I'd never seen that flavor before. The chestnut didn't really stand out, and although they claim to use ceremonial matcha, I couldn't taste it at all. The drink just came off as overly sweet. Truly, quickly, greenly. True Matcha is one of the newest ventures of the massive Kanji restaurant group, known for hits like Nalsso Korean BBQ, Jjanga, and next-door neighbor Tous Les Jours. I first heard about it when trying Puradak Chicken, a baked-then-fried chicken spot, a month or so ago. The menu (sans prices) was already up for viewing, showing their heavy emphasis on matcha drinks and desserts. I had an errand in the same plaza today, so I quickly stopped in and ordered a True Matcha Latte ($6.50), no adjustments requested. The matcha flavor is rich, and it's pure since I didn't get any of the various variants with other flavors. It's creamy enough and every bit as delicious as another matcha drink which I tried recently. Your mileage may vary on the use of the term "ceremonial matcha" but the vibrant green color and pleasant lingering bitterness seem about right to me. Now that I've tried and loved the namesake drink of True Matcha, I'm definitely more excited to try other matcha variants and desserts. My husband and I decided to stop by True Matcha for their grand opening. They were running some specials that day too! The first 100 customer gets a free matcha donut and matcha macaron with their purchase. And the first 200 customers that day will get a raffle ticket too enter into their grand opening giveaways! We got there at 11AM and there was already a line, which is expected. We waited for maybe half an hour to get to the front, which wasn't bad. They are located inside Puradak so them and Puradak share the same space. They are all owned by the same person too so it makes sense. I decided to go for their chestnut matcha while my husband tried their pistachio matcha. The pistachio matcha was actually very good -- you can taste the pistachio in there and it incorporates well. The chestnut, however, got a bit lost and I couldn't really tell it had any chestnut in the drink so it was OK to me. Both drinks were creamy and not exceptional sweet. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind coming back but I probably wouldn't get the chestnut again. I would try for something different! read more

Double Matcha | The taste of matcha was noticeable and strong, without any bitterness at all. The umami flavor was definitely present. Despite my preference for almond milk with matcha, which is not available, the drink still tasted good with oat milk. Compared to other similar establishments, the price is somewhat high for what appears to be a 16-20 oz cup. Clumps of powder were stuck to the side and bottom of the cup, likely due to not being sifted or whisked well. We were enticed to try this place by the photos of a strawberry matcha parfait outside. The place shares a dining area with the chicken place. It felt like a mini food court in there. The service was okay. The cashier didn't seem happy to be there. They also didn't have any of the ingredients and toppings for the parfait that was advertised outside. I had high expectations coming in, and while True Matcha didn't quite become a new favorite, it's still a solid stop if you're in the area. I tried the strawberry matcha and chestnut matcha. Both were decent and well-balanced, and importantly, not watery--which I appreciate. That said, the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as advertised. The menu photos show a much deeper, richer green than what I received, and the taste reflected that difference. Still enjoyable, just more subtle than expected. Service staff was helpful. Ordering is separate from Puradak even though the seating area is shared, so don't let the line confuse you. The cream puffs were a pleasant surprise. Both vanilla and ube were good and worth adding on if you're already there. Overall, it's a cute spot to hang out and a decent option in Chinatown. I might stop by again if I'm nearby, but with more spacious cafés next door and stronger matcha options (with negligible price difference) just a few minutes away, it's not a place I'd go out of my way for.
