The Duck Duck Oolong Gelato is a great dessert for tea lovers. The oolong is not too sweet and the tea flavor is prominent. 9/10 The Mango Sticky Rice Gelato is amazing. I will be dreaming about this gelato when I go back home. The sticky rice on the bottom so make sure to eat that with a scoop of milky cloud and mango. Definitely 10/10. OMG Tea Lab has always been one of my favorite tea places--especially the Avomango. I love it so much that whenever I come in, I usually buy 3-4 at a time because I drink a couple myself and get the rest for my mom and my aunts. However, recently the Avomango doesn't taste the same as it did a couple months ago. It tastes watered down, the flavor is weaker, and the mango amount doesn't feel as good. It was thick and flavorful before, but lately it feels more diluted, and it's been pretty disappointing. Today I came in again. I ordered three Avomangos and my sister ordered the Mota, which is supposed to come with mochi and taro. When the drink was finished, she noticed there was no taro. She asked about it and they said they decided to remove taro because it would take too long (they said it would take about two days to make). But the drink still comes with mochi and taro--so if you're going to remove an ingredient, you should tell customers upfront and either adjust the price or substitute it with something else. They didn't offer my sister options, and the drink just isn't the same anymore. Because the quality feels like it's going downhill (and the flavors don't match what they used to be), I probably won't keep coming back to this location. I may try another location or a different tea shop instead. read more

I'm a big fan of mochi and this mochi is the most unique version I've ever had. It's warm and gooey and not as chewy as other mochi. We order an extra side of mochi just to have a little more. The Milky Cloud Gelato is exactly how it sounds, the milkiest, softest, creamiest perfectly sweetened vanilla gelato. The mango sticky rice gelato absolutely nails the combination of a mango sticky rice dish with gelato. This also comes in a milkshake version which is equally delicious. My other favorite is the brown sugar boba gelato. Imagine that perfect milky cloud gelato with brown sugar boba; it's dreamy. Came here for the first time. Parking can be a bit difficult since it's in a small busy plaza with other restaurants. The inside is clean and has ample seating to hang out. If you love the color purple this place is calling you. The server was friendly and recommended his favorite drinks. Since I just had dinner, I only ordered a drink (Duck Duck Oolong Milk Tea). Since I've been on a roll as of late trying new tea bars (and loving them), I jumped at the chance to try another! Unfortunately, I didn't exactly exclaim, "OMG!" at first sip like the slogan alleged would happen. The teas tasted brewed, not mix-/powder-based, which I appreciated. They were a touch heavy-handed on the sweetener so I would opt for 50% Sugar. I wanted a try a variety of toppings so I ordered a Snowy Jasmine Milk Tea w/ boba and a Mota (black milk tea base layered w/ homemade mochi, taro paste, and salted cream or cheese foam on top). The Snowy Jasmine was about what I expected: creamy, sweet, faintly floral. The boba kind of surprised me with its herbal aftertaste vaguely reminiscent of cough syrup. It wasn't very sweet at all and definitely not al dente like I'd hoped. The Mota was a peculiar concoction I haven't seen elsewhere. The black milk tea was very good but, again, the toppings (particularly the "mochi") were a letdown. While sweet and custardy, their mochi had a gelatinous, oozy, goopy consistency that may or may not have resembled certain bodily fluids. I wouldn't call it "firm" at all like another reviewer described but I do agree that it can clog up the boba straw. Not bad but not my favorite spot for boba. Matcha latte comes with a scoop of ice cream. We went down to 0% sugar. The cream added sufficient sweetness and creaminess to the drink. It was also not a bitter drink as matcha is typically bitter. They recently took over the old Sweet Boba spot, and it was pretty quiet when we stopped by on a Friday night. We ordered a double mixed gelato and a Mota drink. The matcha and Duck Duck gelato flavors were amazing--creamy, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. Honestly, some of the best gelato I've had so far! Service was good and the people a super nice. The wait to get our order was a bit long considering there were just two others already waiting for their order, however, that is something I feel that will improve once the owner and his employee get the hang of things, as this was I believe only the second night of their grand opening when I was there last night, 9/26. For the following 30 days, I believe until just before the last week of October, they're offering a bogo deal for anything! With that said, my friends and I ordered three teas and one Matcha gelato. All of the teas were delicious and the Matcha gelato as well. They offer different levels of sweetness for your tea also. I ordered a Jasmine Matcha tea and it was SO good! I did ask for 50% of sweetness, but my tea was still pretty sweet if it were just 50%, so not sure if maybe they made it the original way before I had changed my sweetness level order. It wouldn't hurt though to just play it safe and have less sweetness since it's easy to add later on. The cups they use are also a really good quality! Not a thing plastic cup, they are pretty and sturdy! Definitely give this place a try, and be understanding and forgiving of the wait. They want to be sure they make your drink correctly and to your satisfaction! I really want to go back everyday but I live kind of far... and I'll probably get in trouble from my doctor if I have a sweet drink every single day. After a yummy lunch with the besties we decided we wanted a sweet treat and stumbled in due to it being right next door to where we had lunch. And let me tell you they did not disappoint!!! The young man who helped us was sweet, a little soft spoken but was patient with us. He also let us know everything was buy one get one free! The ambiance was okay, looks like they have just opened due the little decor that was around and their was seating but the tables were small and there were only a few. My husband tried a boba place up in San Francisco that had mochi topping in their drinks, LOVED it, and has never been able to find a place that did mochi topping outside of Frisco. It's pretty obvious once you taste it that they use VERY high quality ingredients in everything here, including the tea leaves. They also have gelato and it's delicious. I am not a gelato connoisseur though, I just enjoy ice creams and similar frozen treats. If you enjoy mango sticky rice desserts from Thai restaurants you HAVE to get their mango sticky rice gelato dessert. Mangos are not always in season I'm going to cry when it goes away temporarily but it literally tastes like the best mango sticky rice but in a cup that you can take with you. It's SOOOOOOO good.
