This is my fave spot to get a poke bowl in town! I love that it's located at the Beer Garden so that you have a large selection of drinks to choose from to go with your meal. You also have the option of inside or outside seating which is perfect in the summer time. For the bowls specifically I like that I can do brown rice instead of white. I always do half brown rice, half spring mix as my base. Makes me feel really healthy! The food has always been quick and super tasty & all the ingredients seem really fresh. I like that you can switch up your order too with the addition of toppings (like crushed hot Cheetos) or add ons (like gyoza or coconut shrimp - my go to's). The spicy tuna is definitely my favorite protein to get, definitely try it! It's a nice meal to have out that's still super good for you! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it is definitely on the pricier side of a poke bowl. I tend to pay anywhere from $18-$24 for a single bowl. I will say that they're large, I rarely finish mine! Sometimes I wish there was a smaller option available. I think they used to have different sizing options but I think it's now just a standard size. Either way they're good so I'll continue coming back for sure! read more

Nice worker however I have paid $18 for a poke bowl to it only have three toppings (stale chow mein noodles, sesame seeds, nori). A lot of the items happen to be sold out but this isn't the first time according to my partner. I'm extremely disappointed in the amount this meal costed and the quality of it as well. read more

Holy cow that was horrific.. First and foremost, I don't leave reviews unless it is very bad. Secondly, for full disclosure purposes, I am Hawaiian and have eaten this type of food all of my life, so I have higher expectations than most. I ordered the kahlua pig w/ yakisoba noodles. The plate came w/ mac salad and slaw. Starting with the pork, it was shredded. That's the first red flag. It was also dry and tasted like it had barbecue sauce added to it while cooking. Second massive red flag. Thirdly, it was bland and I could barely taste any liquid smoke. Third red flag. Let's call this what it is: shredded pork. Was it edible? Yes. Was it worth $18? Laughable. Moving on to the yakisoba noodles: they were quite LITERALLY packaged top ramen noodles w/ a splash of teriyaki sauce for color. Yes, you read that correctly. Those little packages you get for $0.25 and boil for 2 minutes. Calling those yakisoba noodles is downright disrespectful and shameful. Lastly, the mac salad. not much here; just dry and had about 1/3 of a pound of pepper. Personally, pepper doesn't belong on mac salad. Not how we make it. But I would've been open to some pepper as I am a huge pepper fan. Now if I'm saying it had an incredible amount of pepper, that's really saying something. In conclusion, for the love of God, look elsewhere for Hawaiian food. This is perhaps the worst example of Hawaiian food I've ever experienced. read more

These bad ratings on here should not even be looked at because they don't know what real poke is unless you come from the islands of Hawaii and such. We drive from Yakima Washington's to Eugene for a basketball tournament and This place was actually good and we based it off of their pictures of the menu in making our decision where to go. It wasn't until we actually got our food that I had made the decision to rate this place. I'm an islander and poke is a daily for me. So eating poke on the mainland is hard to find spots to get good poke. To all my islanders this a pretty good spot the poke is good and not to mention is in the beer garden area and y'all know how we like our chasers with our beers. Cheeehoooo!! I got the spicy tuna and it was pretty good. Tuna was pretty fresh given the fact that it's further in from the ocean. Just found Moi Poki at 5th Street Public Market. Absolutely amazing. Possibly The best meal I have had in Eugene. The fish quality was on par with the best sushi restaurants in Eugene/Springfield and the toppings were on point. I had the Pele's Tears and it was phenomenal. I added kimchi and avocado with the furikaki, cilantro, and chili ginger dressing. The small over greens was the perfect light lunch. Obviously the med/large with rice would add some heft if your looking for that. The menu includes burritos and dumplings among other additions for a larger dinner service if you aren't looking for a quick bite. As for me, this will be my new lunch routine until I've tried each menu item. As for the lower star reviews I'll had to stop in the middle of my review to read some just because I can fathom why this place has anything but 5 stars. read more

The bowls at this 5th Street Market Pop-Up are incredibly overpriced for frozen fish and the flavors do not go together at all. For a store that portrays itself as an "authentic Hawaiian poke" this is far from it. Every single typical toppings for a poke bowl is an additional $1, and the sauces are so oily and bland you can't even find it in the bowl till it pools in the dry and overcooked rice. The fish, which I saw came out of a bag, all tasted the same although I ordered 3 "distinct and different" flavors. On top of all these things, I found a hair in my bowl and brought it up to the counter, and the woman working responded with, "Well, what do you want to happen?" Which honestly felt a little rude and all I felt comfortable doing was taking my dirty bowl and nibbling around what I could till eventually I felt so gross I just tossed the rest out. $15 for a bowl of mush and I will not be going back. read more

I just moved to Eugene from the Bay Area and I've been craving poke like crazy. My boyfriend tried convincing me to not get poke around the area for the obvious reasons but I was convinced otherwise. If you look up poke there's only two options in Eugene and I chose here since it's Oktoberfest and I wanted to see what Beergarden had to offer. I was a little disappointed with their toppings and sides selection. I have never been to a poke spot that didn't have crab salad! I almost considered just getting something else in the area but I had my heart set on getting poke that day. I got a small bowl with tsunami(ahi tuna marinated in siracha aioli), seaweed salad, Kim chi, furikake, green onions, mango habanero and chili aioli). The tuna did not taste fresh, it was mushy and smelled a little fishy (fresh tuna is not supposed to be that fishy smelling). The rice also seemed as if it had been sitting around for a while. The server at the counter was rude several times while I placed my order. Apparently, I was bothering her by ordering and she seemed exasperated by any questions I had. Asking for a menu got a super rude response, saying that the menu board was right there. Not all of us can read from the menu board due to our eyesight, thanks for calling me out on that. Then, I was treated as an idiot for ordering an item exactly as it was on the menu. She said it didn't exist, then realized it was on the menu and blamed it on a menu change. Presentation is great. But for someone that grew up making and eating poke it's lacking. Owners are very friendly and nice though. Poke is from Hawaii and there are many different ways to make it yet going to Hawaii for a month or two and living there are two different things. I give them a 3.5/5. Not a bad bowl of poke for the area of Eugene with some interesting items on the menu like a poke sushi burrito. Housed inside the garden of, well, the Beergarden, this off-white truck greets visitors with a knee-high wood fence and matching wood-framed blackboard menu written head-to-to with food. Here, the bowls are priced fairly well ($12 plus starting) and they come out fairy tasty. I ordered a medium bowl with mango shrimp, scallops in a mayo-like garlic sauce (aioli), ahi tuna in a shoyu base, edamame, seaweed salad, masago (tiny bright orange fish roe of the capelin), and ginger. The tuna was quite delightful; a subtle lean tuna covered in a slightly sweet, slightly citrusy, but salty sauce that paired well with everything. The scallops were soft and sweet, and the white sauce it was coated in garlic aioli was nice 'n' garlicky. Not too rich either, which was quite nice. The shrimp was interesting. The ingredients included mango, sea salt, black pepper, onion, and lime juice. It was like a shrimp cocktail, but slightly sweeter due to the chunks of mango in the mix. Personally, I just wasn't a fan since it did not mix with any of my sides/sauces. The seaweed salad was quite pleasant. For anyone unfamiliar, it looks like a group of green, almost transparent, noodles with sesame seeds scattered throughout. It's a slightly crunchy texture, not like salad or fried food, but like a pop. The flavor is sweet, slightly briny, all in all heavily delightful. The ginger and edamame and masago were simply just that, so nothing too unique there but still good. All of it sat on top of three quaint scoops of white rice, ready to be mixed with everything. Everything, all in all, was pretty tasty, but the price could be a bit better in my opinion. Staff is pretty friendly and the service is rather quick, even on crowded days. Note: All in all, poke is a rather pricey in Oregon thing due to it becoming a recent fad that's taken off. Now, I'm all for it since I've been eating it since the teenage years, but it is very hard to find a bowl that's at a more accessible price range here. read more
