As far as food trucks go it's a solid bet. Used to be in the beer garden in Eugene but not reside in the grocery outlet parking lot in Veneta. Prices are solid, menu used to consist of fries, burgers, pouting or just greasy food. They now have, daily soup and sandwiches with a few rotating special. My favorite has been the crab cheese pretzel and teriyaki chicken mandarin orange tacos. Not such a huge fan of the meatball sub or grilled cheese pretzel. Since I am a vegetarian, The Zingaro isn't my typically first choice in a food cart whenever I visit Beergarden. However, on the crisp day I wanted something deeply savory, cheesy, and loaded with carbs and their breakfast poutine checked all these boxes. I made the exception for their dill gravy being made with beef stock, my curiosity and craving was just too strong. I ordered it without bacon of course. I'm glad I made this decision because the poutine really was perfect. Two perfect fried eggs stacked on fries drenched in gravy and melty cheese curds resulting in a perfect cheese pull. This would be a perfect thing to eat after a few rounds of drinks or to consume the next morning recovering from too many rounds of drinks. This is not something to have often as it is not good for your waste line but something to enjoy once in a while as it is good for your soul. read more

I am loving the caprese dog! It's packed with flavor in every bite! I'm a sucker for the tomatoes, and fresh basil! I usually am not a dog person but, this one is my guilty pleasure I guess! Not for sure on the name but it has Elvis in it because it is a burger, with peanut butter, banana, and bacon with a brioche bun. I love anything with peanut butter pretty much! I'm doing a pandemic covid take out review for frame of reference. This is my first experience with this establishment, I've never heard of or seen them but saw they had cheese curds and didn't skip a beat! We chose two sauces and neither were disappointing. Ranch taste unique, homemade and a great consistency. Although it had a slight twist, that was not good or bad to me, I could not put my finger on what it might be. It was a flavor that just kind of intrigued me to try it like 5 more times.. of corse. While the Carmel sauce was the sweetest, most delightful surprise. If you're looking for some good hearty comfort food with a twist, Zingaro is where you need to go (located inside Beergarden). Their signature cheeseburger was worthy of popping my 2-month burger cherry. It came loaded with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, mayo, ketchup, & mustard. It was fantastic & well-constructed. I'll probably return for it next time I need to soothe my burger craving, maybe ask them to throw some green chiles on it. I lucked out because they had a special on the menu -- a pretzel smothered in a blend of dungenous crab, cheddar, and green onion ($8). Oh man, this was amazing. The fluffy soft German-style pretzel, the rich warm cheese n crab...so good. This is definitely a fork & knifer. Probably best to have someone to share it with, its quite decadent. You might want to call beforehand to make sure it's available. I tried their German mac n cheese (made with spatzel, part of their Oktoberfest menu) and it was damn good, especially when paired w/ an Oktoberfest-style beer. I also had some salad made with kale, almonds, golden raisins and it hit the spot. The crew was super cool and they seem dedicated to providing a quality eating experience. The staff at Zingaro are always supremely pleasant. I used to pick their brains about vegetarian options but recently had to become a huge pain in the behind due to a sudden onset of mystery food allergies. The girl at the window was amazingly kind and helpful. I ended up with the Fungus Amongus burger (my fave!) with a veggie patty on a gluten free bun. Important discovery- their fries are gluten free ! Woot woot!! The gluten free bun is solid for what it is but it can't possibly hold a candle to the Reality Kitchen buns. Those are bomb. I also used to indulge every so often with Zingaro's grilled cheese on a reality kitchen PRETZEL with a side of their soup. It was greasy for sure but salty and delicious and, well, I did use the word "indulge". You should definitely give this food truck a try the next time you find yourself at Beer Garden. It's good for meat eaters, vegetarians, and those of us sadly limiting the deliciously gluteny goodness in our lives. But ... get the "real" bun if you can!! read more

Zingaro is Italian for Gypsy. So, The Gypsy, is often traveling from place to place, peddaling their grub. We always spot this truck whenever we go over to Oakshire. The last time I visited Oakshire, I was starving and The Gypsy was hanging around. They have a decent menu, however I chose the simple Burger and Fries for $6. I wasn't too thrilled with the fries, I like mine crispy on the outside, and these were just kinda....bluh. However the burger was surprisingly good. Tasted fresh, and reminded me of a well thought out Pub burger. I seen a few people order a hot dog from here that looked rather devine. From what I remember it was wrapped in bacon as well. My wife and I were out and about and well it was taco Tuesday so we stopped by and each ordered a pepper pulled pork taco and their new Thai Beef taco. The combination of flavors was symphonic. With the pork taco there was the bite of the black pepper, and the tang of the Serrano cream cheese with the soft sweet kiss of strawberries all wrapped in a warm corn tortillas with spinach and topped with a gentle drizzle of balsamic reduction. For the Thai beef taco the flavor combination with the fried chilis, perfectly seasoned beef and topped with grated carrots, cilantro and a dash of a Thai sauce really worked. Wow I dont know how long this cart has been around Eugene but I am glad I finally learned about it and had the chance to test it out. I had the jalapeño popper burger with a side of reuben poutine and all I can say is it is worth the money. The poutine with cheese curds and shreds of reuben and sour kraut were enjoyed by myself and the group I went with. The ingredients tasted really good together. The burger was awesome in taste and a good size. The jalapeño poppers gave it a nice added flavor, possibly some spice for most although I usually like the spicier foods. Currently located in the back of the beergarden which is a lovely location with lots of seating indoor and out. There is a Revolving beer selection there so get some food and a a beer and have yourself a good time outside by the stage. Every time I go to Beer Garden I usually go with another cart, but last night I tried Zingaro and was blown away! I got a chicken sandwich with a salad and my boyfriend got the triple bacon cheeseburger with fries and queso. I loved my food, but the cheeseburger was out of this world! Damn, you folks in Oregon are lucky! These guys started out in Albuquerque, and were a hit with the locals. I tried their food on the recommendation of a friend, and was instantly hooked. I followed this food truck all over town just to munch on their goods. I even crashed an employee only party at Intel to get some grub once. If I could follow these guys to Oregon I would, but that's one helluv a commute! I've had just about everything on their menu, but my absolute favorite has to be the Caprese Burger: tomato infused patty cooked to perfection, laid atop fresh basil, tomato, mozzarella, and doused in a healthy helping of balsamic vinaigrette. My second favorite item would have to be the Caprese Dog: same ingredients, but the dog is stuffed with mozzarella, and wrapped with bacon before being stuffed into a hot dog bun. Of course its a winner--its a bacon wrapped dog stuffed with cheese! The Kristine Burger is also bomb diggity. That over easy egg makes the burger for me. If I'm feeling really exotic I'll spring for a Bahn Mi Burger: Vietnamese inspired flavors packed into a burger. The seasonal specials are equally mouth watering and awesome. Every so often they'll bust out one of the best Schnitzels I've ever had. Pumpkin soup in the fall/winter. Chili made with local stout. They are really quite creative with their menu. They use local produce, and everything is cooked to order and fresh. These guys handle special requests too. Are you on a low carb diet? Doing the Paleo thing? No problem, they can turn that burger into a salad for you. Are you allergic to something? They'll leave it out. Do you want to challenge the chef and ask him to create something with peanut butter, mint, and bananas? He'll do that too, but you better be willing to eat it cuz he's going to want to know what you think. Truly some of the best food I've ever had anywhere. I went to High Pass winery and the only food truck was Zingaro. We are vegan and looked at the menu prior to coming. When I went to order they had cut everything that I could eat off the menu. Went I went to order I was going to order the spinach salad without cheese. Finally made a trip to the beer garden a couple of weeks ago. My Aunt gave me a Groupon for the Zingaroo so we thought we'd give it a try. From my previous checking in on Yelp reviews, I knew that I did not need the Groupon, I would go there anyways. My wife is friends with the onwer of Lani Moku, so she had to go there. I had $20 to spend all by myself! I got the Billy Burger + Bacon with a side salad to share with my family and also the Cartman with poutine. Both were amazing. My wife loved the hotdog, but was full from her food so I scored and got both meals and gave her the salad. The Cartman also came with cheese dip to dunk that bad boy in. The burger had a nice spice to it, was cooked perfectly, and had a great bun. I have had many burgers around town and this is one that definalty is well worth the price. The poutine was amazing and just salty enough. The Cartman was beyond my expectations. Huge hot dog with cheese stuffed in it and wrapped in bacon then fried....Dipped in corn dog batter and fried again!? Until we meet again, friend!. I only hope they try some other creations like that. Here are a couple of ideas: The Elvis: peaunut butter and pickle spear wrapped in bacon and friend, then corn dog batter. Served with peanut butter/jelly dipping sauce? Reuben: Stuffed with cheese and kraut and corned beef...wrapped in bacon, then fried with corn dog batter...Served with 1,000 island Jalapeno Popper: Stuffed with cream cheese and jalapenos, wrapped in bacon. I used to love going to this food truck, not anymore. The staff is still friendly and engaging but the food is sub par. Most of my chicken BLT basket was made up of fries and there was one thin piece of grilled chicken on the Chicken BLT. The toast was burned around the edges of both pieces of bread and it was still edible but just not done well for what I paid for it. My burger was 11 dollars. I guess it filled me up and tasted alright. It came with a side "salad" that was nothing more than iceberg lettuce and diced tomato on top. I find it insulting that they asked $11 for something that should have cost me no more than 8. It was a good burger - no more no less. If you want a decent burger go somewhere else. I am a homeless fellow who travels somewhere new every month, trying new places to eat. I tried several spots in my Eugene, OR run, and this one was MY FAVORITE OF THEM ALL. I got to try them four times, and they actually made me wish I lived in Eugene permanently. They're open late at night, and also even after all the bars have closed. It is a food truck in an open lot that blasts music and is just an all around fun atmosphere. The chef inside the truck is a VERY amiable character, who will get out of the truck and talk to you in those rare moments he is not busy. The first time there, I tried something off the menu; which is always evolving. A burger that was indescribably good. I tell you, I know my burgers. And apparently so does Zingaro! So many flavors mingling together in perfect harmony, one not over-powered by the other. You can tell this fellow really tested these recipes out and worked hard to perfect them, before cramming them into anyone's gullet. The last few times I arrived, the fellow stepped out of the truck and offered me off-menu items that he'd been recently working on, which I found to be pleasant and fun. If you have a chance to try these off-menu options, I suggest you do. Also, his menu is always changing and therefore the selection never becomes stale. This is what food trucks are all about. Friendly people who are not restrained by normal menus and are defined by their unique flavors and tastes. Zingaro is definitely full of fresh flavor. By fresh I mean quality fresh ingredients as well as the flavor. I've tried their caprese burger, caprese dog and one of their corn dogs and would recommend them to anyone. Their french fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. In fact everything has been great, amazing really. Definitely not your normal burger or hot dog.
