Angelo is mostly open at night, especially this time of year... as he says the lunch crowd is almost non-existent. I finally got lucky today, while out wandering around downtown. I asked Angelo to make me an OG with au jus on the side, so I could take it home and have it for dinner. He was very accommodating... and got me fixed right up! Enjoyed chatting with him too... great guy! After I got home, about dinner time... I heated up the sandwich in the oven, wrapped in foil. Nuked the au jus he sent me home with, and got out the giardiniera that I had in the fridge. Loaded the sandwich up with giardiniera, poured the au jus over the top (I love these sandwiches wet!), and then devoured it. I did have to add a little salt, and even hit it with some hot sauce, because I like it that way. Great sandwich... LOTs of meat, the smoked provolone was perfect, and the roll it was on was tasty too. Definitely a full meal! Highly recommended, and I hope to see you there.

The sandwich was solid and definitely worth getting too. The macaroni was a little mediocre compared to everything else, but the rest of the food made up for it. Hands down one of the best food trucks/dining options in town. I surprised my dad with the soul bowl, and hoped he would like it. He devoured the whole thing (minus a bite, which I had and it was amazing). He couldn't stop saying how good everything in it was. The chicken sandwich with pepa chicken was delicious. My one complaint? Too much bread. I love me some carbs and bread, but the chicken was so so good that the bread just didn't match the awesomeness of the chicken. I got through half the sandwich minus a couple bites and was stuffed. I have a healthy appetite, and couldn't even think of eating the second half (right now). The Mac was delicious too. The crew was super friendly, and they obviously have a great relationship with their regulars, but they were kind and energetic and happy to see every single person that ordered when I was there. I will absolutely be back, and can't wait to try the other things they have!

It's a fairly plain looking truck and the options were straight forward. I got the brisket mac and cheese. The gentleman running the place was the only one working it so we were prepared to have a bit of a wait, it cannot be easy to run a whole kitchen all by yourself. He was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait nearly as long as you would think, definitely quicker than a sit down restaurant. Thankful that he wrapped my meal in foil within the recyclable cardboard container so I didn't have to worry about leakage or the thing falling apart. I loved this. The mac was creamy and flavorful, the brisket was melt in your mouth and so good. I also appreciated that he didn't drown the whole thing in BBQ sauce (too many supposedly good BBQ places do). Couple things that count against this place - price can be a bit high for people but you really get two meals for it. A somewhat unclear operating schedule. And for the mac, I thought, at first, it would have been nice to have the brisket broken up into the mac. But considering how easily it comes apart, it isn't a huge deal. Try this place!

"Come to Eugene - get some Poutine!"…read more Anybody can pull together two of the three parts of a good poutine - cheese curds (buy them), crispy fries (make them); but the gravy is what really makes the dish. . . Do these guys have the gravy? Oh YEAH! Crispy hot fries, great curds, but an incredibly flavorful sticky densely-reduced demi builds this gravy. Perhaps a little mirepoix in there - this gravy binds the dish and warrants a full five star rating. Had the plain "true" poutine tonite, but going back for the bourguignon topping or foie gras next. Absolutely prime pub food or a mid-day snack; this food truck is worth the visit and adds a unique new dish to the truck scene in Eugene.

Good tacos... lots of cheese, fair amount of meat, and fried up in some of the drippings. The consomme was ok... very lacking in salt (and since I am on a low sodium diet, I guess that is good? lol! ) Beans and rice were good also. I would order again.

This was my first real foray into the Mexican food scene in Eugene/Springfield... and I really,…read moretruly hate to be harsh, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not sure it could have gone much worse. With my dad being in town with me, the two of us decided to go on a late-night taco run. We went with a big order that included 2 carne asada tacos, 2 tacos campechanos, an asada burrito, and a chorizo breakfast burrito. Starting with the asada itself: it was just depressingly, woefully bland. The meat was crying out for any sort of seasoning. Somehow, though, this wasn't the worst part -- even more strikingly, it was clear that liquid smoke was likely used as well. If you've never tasted liquid smoke before, it's a horrible, powerfully artificial flavor that should go nowhere near any quality piece of meat. Color me thoroughly impressed if this was not the case here. The asada burrito had almost no asada in it, despite my dad requesting "double" meat. The chorizo had a strange aftertaste, not super pleasant. Furthermore, proper chorizo gives a bright punch of acidity, a stout kick of spice, and a rich unctuousness (aka: that sinful, I-hate-myself fattiness... you know the one) -- this had none of those things. Making a duo of the asada and chorizo in the tacos campechanos did not elevate either meat; it ended up kind of just being a tandem of sadness and regret. My dad -- who never, ever says anything bad about Mexican food -- may have put it best: "Yeah... this was pretty freakin' bad." I will say that the service was friendly and informative... I will always, always appreciate and recognize that in a business. The food, on the other hand, I'm sorry to say might have been the worst I have had to date as far as Mexican goes. I am hoping (praying!) that I find a go-to taco/burrito spot around these parts soon -- I may go certifiably insane if I don't.
