Amazing service! Like all you students out there know, running from class to class gives you very little time to eat. I happened to come out to the Foodtruck as they were closing up. Feeling starved and hangry I stood hoping for something..anything! The employees on the Foodtruck were so kind and took pity on me they offered to make me some chicken strips (all that they had left). The truck was clean, attractive (the wrap on the truck is very eye popping and lets you know exactly where they are). I was also told during my wait, that you can also download the app to be able to order your food ahead of time so that your never late to class or miss out on eating! How awesome is that?! Lane Community College wouldn't be the same without this establishment there to serve students some real lunch-worthy food! Their burgers are superb (although, I'm personally not a fan of their "crush sauce") and cooked exactly to order. If it ain't right, it'll be fixed. If a burger isn't your thing, they have a selection of other options including but not limited to Chicken Strips & Fries, Fish Sandwich, and Brats. I finally tried the Crush Burger truck on campus at Lane Community College, and I'm so glad I did! The burger was freshly made and juicy, served on ciabatta bread with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and lots of onion, and it was priced at a very reasonable $5! I also tried their seasoned fries, which were generously portioned for $1.25 and a Diet Pepsi for another $1.25. It's great to see that this truck isn't trying to rip off the students who don't have a cafeteria on campus at the moment, since the student center is being rebuilt. Everything was fresh and hot, except for my drink, of course, and service was friendly and fun. I didn't try the Crush sauce, because I'm not a big fan of Thousand Island dressing, but there was plenty of mustard, ketchup, mayo or ranch to use instead. The food is delicious! Try it at least once before you really pass judgement. However... I miss this place, or at least how it was. It's noteworthy that the last review for Crush Burger was over 9 months ago, and the only other two were from 2015, when Crush Burger was a food cart. Crush Burger is no longer a food cart. It is a cafeteria-style (mall-style?) restaurant installed into LCC's cafeteria. This was a substantial improvement to waiting for hot food out in the cold and having to worry about it cooling quickly once it was done. Small note: Last I checked they had reduced their hours of operation to a very small interval of time. It was already only 4, maybe 5 hours previously, but LCC seems to have pressured them into reducing it to 3 or 4 for some reason... Were they out-competing the other cafeteria restaurants? Wouldn't surprise me. Unfortunately, with popularity or success, many restaurants lose particular qualities they original had when starting. Crush Burger is no exception here, and through new management they have raised the prices substantially. I used to go almost literally everyday to get a First Crush with one extra patty for $7, $5 for the burger and $2 for the extra patty. Well, now they've raised the price of the First Crush to $6 and the extra patty to $3. Maybe that's not a lot to some, but frankly- when compared to other hamburger joints, some of which are close by- it's no longer a competitor in affordability. Crush Burger's prices are now comparable to mid-priced burger joints rather than cheap ones. They did add a free drink to make up for the price jump, so if the price still seems reasonable to you, that may be a perk. Fountain soda is like 5 cents a large, though... To be clear, this review is a personal one from me. I'm giving Crush Burger 3 stars and not 5 because their new management is clearly prioritizing profit for a business that was (seemingly- this is an assumption I'm making) doing just fine, and a business whose customers are almost entirely community college students. You know, the students who likely couldn't afford higher priced education might not have an extra buck or two to spend on their lunch everyday. It destroys the viability of Crush Burger being a regular lunch destination for me, and I have trouble imagining it hasn't done the same for others. I do love their burgers, though. I'm giving Crush Burger 3 stars and not 1 star because not only are they still affordable, but honestly they are easily one of the best burgers in town when it comes to ingredients (assuming you're not shooting into the $12 and up range). For me, their current prices reflect a sit down, more private location and not a bustling noisy cafeteria. I can only hope to either get more income in the future or that Crush Burger's management realizes they could sell more with a dollar or two price drop. Finally, it's worth noting that I did not diversify my order much at all, if ever. I simply would get their classic, the First Crush, and often added a patty, as previously mentioned. I have heard people rave about their vegetarian burgers, and I've seen people get their chicken strips all the time, which seem to be particularly affordable (or at least were...). I love a good burger and this was not. Bland, boring and took them 3 tries to make the burger ordered correct. The burger ordered was the Crush Burger with no mods. Attention to detail is important especially on your namesake product. After demanding a remake I finally got the right burger. Still willing to give them a chance I tried it but lack of bacon and flavor the burger fell flat. 9.00 with cheese is very high for a food cart. I dont recommend them. Red Robin is a better value or even McDonald. read more
