No idea why or how this place has 5 stars. The mofongo has no flavor and it is microwave heated. Not authentic in the least bit.

We ate here on our last night in St. Croix. The restaurant is upstairs and the disco is downstairs…read more There is a spacious eating area upstairs and a patio area outside for dining. No one was using the outside patio while we were there. It was not very crowded but a few more tables came in while we were there. The staff (I believe they are the owners) were very sweet and welcoming. There was quite a long wait for our food to come, but the food was very good. I had the salmon with capers and seasoned rice with vegetables. It was a large portion and very tasty. My daughter and son both had shrimp and my husband had fried snapper. There is a bar upstairs and I believe one downstairs as well but don't quote me on that because we didn't go into the club portion of the place.

Hit every mark for us. Food was great. Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was inviting,…read morenoise level was medium inside bc there was a birthday celebration and dancing in the 2nd floor covered patio, but we expected it, and were still able to hold a conversation. Plenty of free parking across the street if the spaces in the front are full. We did have to walk up to the second floor. I don't know if there is an elevator for those with mobility challenges. Shrimp Alfredo was garlicky, but not overly so. The butter shrimp with seasoned rice was homey, filled with red bell pepper and onions. House salad was very fresh with green leaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and cucumber. The fried chicken was slightly sweet. Our very picky "chicketarian" loved it. It's open late which was perfect for us after spending all the daylight hours on the beach and then coming back to our Airbnb to shower and change.

The wine selection is pretty impressive. They have a nice selection of craft beers too. I would recommend double checking the dates on specialty items, like craft beer, gourmet breads, etc... They aren't things that most people are grabbing so they tend to sit on the shelf longer. That is why I prefer going to specialty grocery stores for certain items. La Hacienda is one of them and it is across the street by the Pep Boys. The cafeteria food is really good. They have a few tables for you to eat there, or you can take it to go. Overall, it is a good supermarket and I come here when I can. I'm just usually put off with the packed parking.

It pretty much has everything you need. The wine, beer, and liquor section is huge. The produce section has items that most other supermarkets don't carry, maybe only specialty markets will carry it. That is the other thing. You can find lots of specialty items here, so you have less of a reason to go to a specialty market. The cafeteria is also very good. Great place to get some tasty lunch at an affordable price. The biggest downside here is the parking. It is always packed. Also, most of the shopping carts are old. Costumer service is hit or miss.
