They sell a large selection of meats and cuts. We were waiting for 2.5" thick pork chops. The butchers called us to let us know when they got an adequate amount of pork in so that they could actually cut the pork chops that thick. They have various meats Including Wagu beef and dry aged. Aside from meats they sell pasta, cheese, veggies, fish, ice cream, beverages and a variety of spices and cooking liquids like honey, jam etc. I was happy to find cheese from yancey's which is a local cheese shop close to my family in Buffalo NY. Biggest confusion is the excessive styrofoam and plastic used here. The meats we selected were wrapped in paper with styrofoam. All of the prepackaged meat is nicely vacuum sealed with styrofoam inside of it. This makes 0 sense to me. I would be happy to buy the prepackaged vacuum sealed meat without styrofoam to sous vide it... it's such a waste and so bad for the environment of this beautiful island. There is no need for the styrofoam!!! Otherwise I recommend this shop if you're looking to spend a pretty penny on some meat.

The pumpkin with pesto and cheese was the best side I ordered and enjoyed it, but I felt a bit guilty because it had so much cheese and fat. The mamposteao was ok: flavor was good but it is not a real arroz mamposteao, so the consistency wasn't great. The risotto with mushrooms wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The server was very attentive and responsive. The ambience is like a Spanish store in which they sell you a can of anchovies, a kilo of cured ham and serve you a $100+ dinner in cheap cafe tables and chairs... all of this to say ambience doesn't match the food and its price, at least not in this country.

I need to go here. If it seems that I base some of my travel (*most of my travel) around food, well..that may be true..! Conveniently located in Viejo (Old San Juan) you can find this little kiosk at the plaza de colon, the central square in the old part of town with the statue of the guy on a tall post. Can't miss it - truly. The kiosk has a couple of quick, delicious (to go) options available .. hence the punny name. Thirsty? Get some fresh, tangy lemonade. Or better yet.. buy a fresh young coconut.. they will drill a hole in it for you and give you a straw. So good! Hungry? Well.. listen up. Get an alcapurria or two, these things are so good you'll probably want another. They are essentially fried oblong things filled with meat, cheese and surrounded by a mixture of plantain and yucca. Crispy but also soft on the outside with a savory meat filling.. quite addicting! Then, mofongo wise they have several options which is kindof neat if you want to change it up. To start you pick your base, either regular mashed plantain, sweet mashed plantain, mashed yucca, or trifongo; ra combination of all three. Then, you pick your topping.. I recommend the beef paired with regular green plantain. The veggie is quite good as well, it has several different kinds of marinated beans in the mix.

Customers should feel welcome and treated with courtesy regardless of whether they choose to communicate in English or Spanish. Puerto Rico is a bilingual community, and no customer should feel judged or mocked for the language they use.
