Chicken mofongo with tomato sauce
Michelle M.

My boyfriend & I went to Puerto Rico for our birthdays last week. This restaurant was along a strip of a bunch of other restaurants. The waitress was outside passing out menus, that's how we ended up coming back up the block to eat here. We tried food at alot of places while on vacation, but this was the only place Mr. Picky didn't pick apart the food. I had the chicken Mofongo with a pina colada and he had the steak sandwich with fries and bbq wings. I actually didn't finish all my food because I was full. The service was great. The wait staff spoke English too.

good empanadas! Love the fry on them, just wish the chicken ones were a little bit more seasoned, but beyond that they were amazing

Review #1,052 Posted on 5.1.26…read more We came here for coffee on Saturday morning April 25th. This spot is located at the bottom of the Residence Inn in Isle Verde. This place is super nice, it reminded my wife & I of Porto's a bit. They've got both indoor & outdoor seating. We ordered their classic coffee with coconut, called the Coqui. Now the place is awesome atmosphere, good drinks, good food, but it took way too long to get our order, amateur hour as far as that goes. It took them 45 minutes to get our coffee & food out, and we're not talking a four course meal chef Ramsey prepared, it was literally 1 breakfast sandwich. We weren't alone either, countless people waiting for a very long time with us, I don't get how it could get you that point to be honest. They had at least 10 workers back there, I could see 10 minutes, even 15, 20 is pushing it, but 45? Coffee & sandwich were good, but nothing special and for sure not worth the irritation that sets in when you're left waiting to that degree. I thought of giving this place higher marks because it's a very nice establishment, clean, lots of places to sit, and nice atmosphere, but they earned this 2 spot they're getting for the experience I had.

Coffee was good and tried an egg sandwich and pancakes as a side cause they were little. I posted…read morewhat I thought on each picture.

Most folks are locals looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, and this restaurant is a practical choice. It's been clean everytime I've been here, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. The staff works with me since I'm Deaf, and lip-reading Spanish is 25% lip-reading and 75% guessing/filling in the blanks. Edit: Its important to mention that outside of the mainland US, when you say BBQ, you're thinking smoked meats like Kansas BBQ, Texas BBQ, Memphis BBQ with a variety of BBQ sauces, but in countries like Philippines and here in Puerto Rico if simply means like your backyard BBQ on your gas grill. Zero smoked flavor and sauces.

Once we finally ordered, things got worse: a group that sat at the bar a full 20 minutes after we arrived got their food before us. We ended up waiting over an hour total for our food. When it finally came out, it was cold and just not good. After that long of a wait, we expected the food to at least make up for it, but it didn't. Between the slow service and the disappointing food, I can't recommend this spot right now or will I come back.

Good service and excellent products. I ordered coffee, a media noche, ham and bacalao croquettes, a piece of Spanish tortilla, bread, and a quesito for dessert. As expected, everything was delicious. Their sandwiches are exactly how they should be and have no comparison. The tasty caldo gallego or fabada asturiana also stand out, along with a great variety of sweets, breads, wines, cured meats, seafood, and meats. This is a place that has been serving its customers for many years. The menu is very complete and varied. Due to the high volume of customers, parking (in front, on the side, and in the back) is often full, but it's always highly recommended. A mandatory stop so you don't just hear about it you can compare for yourself.
