    Frosty Kiwi Margarita
    Lauren M.

We called and made a reservation for a group of 8 for a Sunday evening. This was our last evening of our vacation and by far the best service we had at any restaurant while in Puerto Rico. Our server was very attentive and she didn't miss anything with our order for our larger party! I'm not a huge margarita fan but decided to try one since they had so many options to choose from. I had a kiwi frosty margarita. It wasn't really for me though and I didn't taste any kiwi. It seemed like the rest of our group really enjoyed their margaritas. One person in our group ordered a coconut margarita and I tasted that one and really liked it! The chicken tostadas were good, but nothing too special. I wish they had more sour cream on them. We had some chips and salsa for the table, and I really liked their salsa - it had a good kick to it!

This was such a perfect place to eat! Our waitress was super helpful! Shout out to Larisa for all the recommendations and making this a wonderful experience with delicious food!

The food was decent -my boyfriend felt sick after eating his tacos. The meat had way too much grease which is never good. His first bites he said were good but of course the longer it sat the more soggy -my enchiladas were fine.. nothing too special- i would say the pickled onions were a nice touch! The Margarita's liquor was nasty to me haha but i drank it. Didn't do anything for me. Service was good. Our waitress was nice and let us taste their frozen Margarita. I should've just gotten that one instead of trying on the rocks. The frozen one (though a sample) was very yummy! The restaurant itself has a great amount of seating and is filled with neon lights and painted "sayings". It was very colorful in there! This was right down the street from our car rental and we were starving so that's how we stumbled upon it. Didn't expect to be eating Mexican food when first getting there haha but definitely A LOT of Mexican spots in Puerto Rico

Passion fruit margarita, very good, these cups need longer straws

I will start with the ... Pros: Service: the waitress was very nice Happy hour: a well priced per the signs, I didn't take advantage of it but good to know Drinks: you get a little margarita sample and it was good so I ordered a passion fruit margarita which was yummy The carnitas on top of my mofongo was delicious Cons: The mofongo was horrible. I was under the impression that mofongo was native to PR so I assumed everywhere would make it well and I was craving it so I figured why not? Well, let's just say this was not the right place to eat this dish. The plantains were literally still formed and hard as hell. I had to cut into it with a knife which is unusual. This was like eating broken up tostones and it didn't have any flavor or sauce to accompany it. I had to ask for sauce so it could be edible. For all of that I could've just ordered carnitas with a side of tostones. I've had way better mofongo in NYC from Dominicans, no shade, but it's just the truth.

Shrimp tamarind with chipotle sauce and rice topped with quesabirria dip. The rice was originally plain, white rice.

The music and food are amazing! Best quesabirria I've ever had! The service is excellent as well, but only come here if you have time to actually wait for food. We loved it.

    Margarita

As an african american tourist this has been the best service we've received. We were greeted with sample shots of their frozen margarita and it was so strong and delicious! The drinks are great the vibe is awesome. I loved it and i'm so happy. Arianys is so kind and humble as well, she's doing a great job. The young man helping out is also very sweet. Thanks hijoles!

    Steak fajitas

This restaurant was just NOT it! My friend and I came here only because it was across the street from our hotel and only had a little over an hour until we need to leave for our tour... so we decided to come here, as soon as we looked at the menu, we should've left there weren't that many options that actually looked good from the pictures. Chips and salsa, which was so hot and unbearable. And i normally spice well as I eat a lot of salsa and other spicy food. So then the waitress brought out a green salsa, but it was so sweet and did not pair well with the chips. Moving onto the food, I ordered steak fajitas, and as you can see in the picture, there was no season on the food at all. It was so bland, I have never had tasteless fajitas like this before. I honestly didn't think that you could mess them up. My friend got the chorizo enchiladas and it was so hard for her to eat them because the chorizo was so hard like burnt bacon bits, and the sauce on it was so sweet and did not pair well Before our food came out, our waitress brought us a sample of a margarita and it was really tasty so we actually ordered one . If there was anything that this restaurant got right, it was the margarita.!!! We did the finish our meal first the most part . We would be billed for it anyways.. & we were about to go out and go drinking. We needed food on our stomach, even if it wasn't good. I will not give this restaurant one star, because the waitress was really nice and helpful, but I would not recommend this place to anyone ever !!!!

We wandered into Hijole and were promptly greeted and seated by a very friendly waiter. If you start with drinks, the Strawberry Rita not very "berry". If you order a Margarita, they offer rocks, frozen or Slushy". They like to make the slushy extra strong! The food was fairly typical/average Mexican cuisine rather than straight Puerto Rican. Also kinda pricey but that seems to be the norm around the resorts/hotels. We ate dinner early but this seems like the kinda place that would be fun later in the evening.

I found this place on Yelp and it looked very pretty; it was perfect for a tranquil start to the day. We called them to inquire about parking and whether this place was open to the public or if it was just for hotel patrons. We parked in the hotel lot and it is open to the public. They did have a person at the counter who could take our order with a menu above their head, but they also had kiosks. I chose the kiosk because it's less pressure; I was allowed to browse the full menu at my pace without feeling the pressure of someone behind me trying to place their order. I was torn between the iced matcha and the iced chai. I went with the iced chai with whipped cream (+$0.50). They ask for your phone number and text you when your order is ready. While we waited, we used the bathroom, which was on their patio area around the corner from the building. On our walk there, we noticed all the plants and greenery they have, both on the wall and around the perimeters of the tables. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but no stalls, just one. I liked that they had seating indoor and outdoor (both regular and high tables) but it was such a good day to not sit outside. The outdoor seating is completely shaded. We sat down at one of the corner areas. After about 10 minutes, our orders were ready. The ice chai was delicious! It had a subtle mocha flavor, with subtle taste of spices, and was very creamy. Halfway through, I needed more ice so I got some from their vending machine. When we went to validate our parking ticket, it came out to about $1.50 which wasn't bad for the hour + we were there.

Review #1,052 Posted on 5.1.26…read more We came here for coffee on Saturday morning April 25th. This spot is located at the bottom of the Residence Inn in Isle Verde. This place is super nice, it reminded my wife & I of Porto's a bit. They've got both indoor & outdoor seating. We ordered their classic coffee with coconut, called the Coqui. Now the place is awesome atmosphere, good drinks, good food, but it took way too long to get our order, amateur hour as far as that goes. It took them 45 minutes to get our coffee & food out, and we're not talking a four course meal chef Ramsey prepared, it was literally 1 breakfast sandwich. We weren't alone either, countless people waiting for a very long time with us, I don't get how it could get you that point to be honest. They had at least 10 workers back there, I could see 10 minutes, even 15, 20 is pushing it, but 45? Coffee & sandwich were good, but nothing special and for sure not worth the irritation that sets in when you're left waiting to that degree. I thought of giving this place higher marks because it's a very nice establishment, clean, lots of places to sit, and nice atmosphere, but they earned this 2 spot they're getting for the experience I had.

They were busy but the restaurant was small and there were enough servers to hold down the fort. There's definitely a management issue here. Anyway, the food was pretty good.
