We ordered a bottle of Fiano (a wine we really enjoy and was on the menu). They didn't have it. We settled for Chardonnay. It was good. We asked for bread. They didn't have any!!! (What? An Italian restaurant with no bread?) not a great start. Having said all that, the rest for our food was amazing! The arancini and the eggplant were exquisite. I ordered the steak (yeah I know) but it was amazing. The sauce, the potatoes. Just delicious. Our guests had the lasagna and my husband ordered the pizza. They were very satisfied with their meals. The ambiance is quaint. Old Italian. Clean. I would train servers to know what's available and what's not. Prevent from ordering and being disappointed. In addition, if you don't have bread and make pizza, you have bread. You can make it out of pizza dough in a pinch for those who ask. Italian red sauce without bread... it's a big miss. If your equipment is broken, buy the bread. I think they should have given us the dessert based on the misses. Nonetheless, the entrees were very good.

The presentation of the dipping oil/vinegar was pretty, delicious and fun to play with. Now this pasta.... let me tell you... phenomenal!!! I ordered the ravioli d'anatra because I love duck and this blew me AWAY. The taste of the savory and salty of the duck melting into the tangy sweet of the pear and port wine reduction was something I could've never expected. Plus, the ravioli squares were browned hard and perfect and topped with a succulent dollop of truffle butter. The sweet port wine reduction elevated the savoriness of the pasta and really went well with the crunch at the end, which rounded out the bite. 20/10!! My cocktail was also delicious and perfectly balanced! Genuinely can't wait to come back here.

It was still pretty, but I wished they did a bit more for the table back there to match the rest of the gorgeous interior. And as the cashier/register is also there by the back table, we had a lot of waiters moving in and out of our space to complete chores/tasks for other tables, which occasionally took away from the ambiance and immersion of the restaurant as our table felt like a prime hub. Again, this was only an experience for this table in the back, but something to note. Regardless, my group ordered two appetizers, a bottle of wine, and six entrees to get a full spread and taste of this nicer Italian dining. The Italian Sausage and Polenta appetizer was phenomenal - deliciously buttery, smooth, and a springy texture I've never experienced before. The bruschetta platter was good for what it was, but not stand out. I ordered the carbonara, and was disappointed. It was incredibly salty while lacking any other savory, spiced flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the salty pork and then further salted sauce overpowered anything else. I tried to salvage it with chili flakes and a lot of black pepper, but nothing could give it the rich flavor I was looking forward to or expecting. The ribeye, though, was phenomenal. Excellently executed, rich, juicy, perfect. Worth the money if that's in your budget. The other dishes were all delicious as well, and you can't go wrong with ordering any of them. I wouldn't recommend the carbonara, but I have seen other reviews rating it highly, so maybe I just got a hiccup this time. The waiters were kind and attentive when we asked for them. They seemed quite busy a lot of times, and it took a few rounds of them rush-leaving/coming back after we ask for us to be able to order cocktails or appetizers. It was also a busy night, so completely understandable. But overall, a really nice experience, and a beautiful date spot.

I decided to do four courses, and every single one was incredible. I started with the Crudo de Salmón Hawaiana with mango pascual, watermelon radish, and hibiscus flower. Then the Robalo al Horno de Leña with coconut beurre blanc, salicornia, and tamarind. For the main course, the Mofongo de Pato Criollo with duck chicharrón, duck and shiitake broth, and guava hoisin. And dessert was the Café with requesón, pâte à choux, and carambola. This was one of the most dynamic meals I've ever had. Every course was completely different, yet everything felt intentional, creative, and incredibly well-balanced. The flavors, textures, presentation, and creativity were on another level. What made the experience even more special was knowing that the ingredients are locally sourced and thoughtfully incorporated into the menu. You can genuinely taste the care that goes into every dish. And the hospitality? Unforgettable. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. Cocina Abierta absolutely blew me away. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I suffer from severe food allergies but wanted to experience their tasting menu. My server spoke to the chef directly and then took the time to walk me through every option. I TRULY appreciated that they did not take anything off the menu but rather told me how they could adjust for my allergies. That is very rare and so very much appreciated that they went that extra mile for me. I highly recommend the tasting menu. It's 5 courses and they give you 3 options to choose from, within each course. And for the price ($85), a great value. Everything was delicious but I highly recommend the Breadfruit Gnocchi, Rainbow Runner Crudo, and Criollo Duck Mofongo. Chefs kiss! There were four of us dining, and we started with two appetizers: the Setas Rellenas and the Chorizo al Vino. Both were excellent, but the Chorizo al Vino was my absolute favorite--absolutely delicious! For my entrée, I ordered the chicken lasagna. I expected chunks of chicken, but it was made with shredded chicken, and wow--it was incredible. The flavor was outstanding, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of our trip. My husband ordered the beef lasagna, which was also made with shredded beef rather than traditional ground beef. He absolutely loved it. Our friends ordered the Milanesa de Berenjena and the Milanesa de Pollo with a side of gnocchi, and both raved about their meals as well. Since nearly every table seemed to be ordering pizza, we knew we had to try one. We ordered a small pizza for the table, and each of us had a slice.
