I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The service, food, and ambience makes it a great place to eat with family. The pizza here is very good. The chicharrones de pollo are a must - get them as an appetizer so you don't miss out. Although the pizza is the go-to here, the entries and daily specials are also very good. The chillo fish filet with white wine and mushroom sauce is one of the best I've had here. They have a comfortable parking area on the back of the restaurant. I've seen this place always packed and finally decided to give it a try. I sat on the patio which I highly recommend. Though they were packed and I had a slight wait the staff swiftly cleared tables. I got the Via Appia pizza which was good and the veggies were fresh and full of flavor. The baked lasagna was hot and cheesy, couldn't ask for it to be any better. The name is different than here, it was labeled Perino on their sign. But the exterior patio is the same. The eggplant parm is underwhelming. It was smothered in cheese, to mask the dullness of flavor. The garlic bread was unique, as it was minced garlic on bread with a dab of butter. read more

I was in town for a work trip and it was a Wednesday evening. Very convenient and close to Ashford where all the hotels are in the Condado area. It was pretty busy and there was a bar in there for anyone dining alone. I decided to take out so there is a hostess desk right when you walk in. I was greeted immediately and she took my order. I asked how long and she said 15 min. While I was waiting - I was offered a glass of ice to enjoy my bottled beverage I grabbed from the cooler. So I'm felt the service was pretty friendly from the few I interacted with. The restaurant is not fancy and the prices are reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. I asked if bread came with my meal since most Italian restaurants give you a bread basket to begin and she said yes. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I got my food in less than 15 min and head back to my hotel to enjoy. Again, I got a lot of food for what I paid. The bread I was given was complimentary but it was garlic bread which i don't mind but wish I would've known so I could ask for plain. The spaghetti sauce was decent and the pasta good. The meatballs were just okay - they didn't see like fresh meatballs. Overall, the restaurant had a fun vibe - patio seating and indoor - very lively. The service was pretty friendly. Good pizza and drinks are waiting for you in this Condado area restaurant. We visited on a weekday evening, during a short vacation in February. Party of two were seated right away, on an outside table. We got our drinks within minutes and ordered pizza. It was great - not too thick or thin, just right. In Puerto Rico, it rains every day, and this was not the exception - luckily, although we were outside, the table umbrellas provided the necessary cover. Have not tried any deserts here but, if I am back in the area, I will check them out. read more

Went here on a Wednesday night with my best friend on our girl's trip. It was OK. When we arrived, the area to wait for a table was confusing and when someone finally came up to us we thought the menus in their hand were going to us - nope, they were going to the table across from us. After a bit of confusion, we were sat in the corner of the indoor portion of the restaurant without a menu. When we finally did get a menu (about 10 mins in), we were asked what we wanted pretty much immediately. This felt like a rushed dining experience and we didn't feel like we were welcomed here (not sure if they just don't like tourists). Otherwise, if someone on the waiting staff knows you, you're treated like royalty...it was just weird. The food was OK. Something I could get back home. Wish I could've tried the tiramisu but we weren't even given the option to order dessert. The waiter just came by to ask if we wanted our bill right as we had finished. Come here if you want a "no-frills" dining experience and are hungry for Italian. read more

Horrible service! Waited an hour for butter pasta and a medium cheese pizza! After waiting we decided to just pay for pasta and the drinks. Right before we paid the pizza shows up we tell them we don't want it and the manager comes out with the bill and says we discounted the pizza! Like for real?! Do not come here! read more

We met a bunch of friends here for pizza and drinks and had a great time. The server was friendly and he suggested the supreme pizza which tasted amazing--great tasting crust and fresh meaty toppings. The bread they provide is too airy and light. The pepperoni pizza was good but after a supreme slice, tasted too plain. They had Ultra Beer and I stuck to that. Horrible service. Waited 15 minutes for server after seated and this only after we went to cashier asking for a server. Could not get server's attention so I had to grab a water pitcher from bar for refills and fetch extra napkins. We saw our food up ready to brought to table. After it sat for 10 minutes I walked over and pointed it out until another server brought it over. Had to grab random servers to get anything done. My pasta had a bland taste. Dishes were supposed to come with garlic bread which never showed up. Crowded tables, servers kept bumping into my chair. read more

Come here with time to spare and drinks to be had. If you are very, very hungry or with little ones suggest you order an appetizer and chill with that islander pace. Lovely Italian folks sitting around over pitchers of Sangria laughing and shooting the breeze. Beautiful guys and girls on group dates sharing platters of Italian family style dishes. I luv it and I live for it! The energy was just nice. We sat outside. I had the house Italian wine that our waiter filled to the brim of a full tulip shaped glass. In an upscale restaurant that would count for 2 glasses. I mean official red wine from Italy. The flavor was saaavory. $5 a glass! For my meal I had an authentic lasagna made with ground beef, ricotta cheese, and handmade pasta. Can I just tell you that this was THE BEST LASAGNA THAT I HAVE EVER HAD! You know I ate slow.... For dessert a lemon creme pie with graham cracker crust. I got up and walked into the deli before my lasagna came out to see stacks of carrot cakes, pecan pies, coconut milk custard, and an array of cheesecakes. It gets no better. The man brought me out a sample piece of pie before my lasagna came out. THESE PEOPLE ARE WONDERFUL, THEY FEED YOU JUST BECAUSE THEY LIKE YOU! Well guys this place is the inn place to eat in the Condado area. It is located were other restaurants share it's same great atmosphere. Went to this restaurant Nov. 14, 2010 with my dear boyfriend and let me tell you it is great. Ordered the "yautia soup"and mmmmmmmmmm.........delish then we ordered a chorizo pizza and it was excellent. We first sat in the outside area but then moved to another spot right in front of the Ashford st. and although it rained we enjoyed every minute of it. We got the chance to experience all the tourists and local people waiting in line to enjoy the food this place has to offer. For me it is as good as it gets for a Sunday evening!! :-) read more

Our food took forever. Then it arrive cold plus my tuna melt was just a cold tuna sandwich. They took the order back and return with a warm calamari with no marinara sauce. That's so much mediocre pizza persists in an age when there is every opportunity for excellence is a little disappointing. The pizza is not bad, it is just ordinary. The age of thick Doughey crusts, sparse toppings, canned vegetables and tepid sauce should truly be behind us, but sadly in so many places it is still front and center. Salads: we ordered 2 salads which were swimming in murky water (see photos), had almost no Gorgonzola cheese on them, & they never brought the garlic bread. Pizza: The pepperoni pizza was ok. Nothing worth going back for. Sandwich: this was the winner! The Julius "Cesar" sandwich was a mix of deli meats & cheeses and was actually good. Couldn't tell if it was supposed to be served warm or cold because it was a little of both. But far better than the rest of the experience. Service was ok. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go when I'm really not interested in the "normal" chain stops. Not that I'm really into those places, but I often forget that some of the smaller establishments are far superior. This particular restaurant has excellent pizza and pasta with really reasonable prices. The atmosphere is always very pleasant and the staff is usually very helpful and kind. I don't like to just default to 5 star ratings very often, but this is one of those places that truly deserves it. If you are in the area, and unsure about where to go, do yourself a favor and give Via Appia a try. You won't regret it. read more

PIZZA This is an iconic place in Condado area. Americanized Italian food. Pizza is the only thing I would eat here. They have just a few options including, pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers and eggplant. I ordered a large size Via Appia one which has all except eggplant. It had a thin crust and crispy. It really tasted great but too small. We were 2 and nothing was left. It seemed as a small size of any other pizzerias. Price was reasonable for this location. I felt like being at South Beach Miami's Lincoln road area. read more
