Wow what a fantastic find in the heart of old San Juan. We stumbled upon this spot waking around looking for a snack. We were intrigued by their lite bites and entertaining cocktails. Service was phenomenal and loved the bartenders energy. Highly recommend this local spot!

The vegan options did not fail. Absolutely delicious. We asked if we could get the risotto vegan and the chef agreed. Probably one of the best risottos I've ever had. They also have gluten free dough options which were so appreciated. The staff were great, friendly and relaxed. Didn't make you feel rushed and answered all our questions. The interior is absolutely beautiful. I loved it. Great wine menu also. A must try if you're in Old San Juan.

Great pizza, drinks, and service. We tried 4 different pizzas and the sangria. Highly recommend dinner there.

This place was such a vibe, it was dark and had dim lighting; they were playing great music. The food was so delicious, my steak came out perfectly how I ordered it. The truffle was the best with mushrooms, just amazing! Our server was very attentive to us, made sure our cups had water or soda. He was a very nice guy.

Lovely spot in Old San Juan. Warm and friendly atmosphere with cozy seating options and decor with character. The pizza options can be a little overwhelming, but the ones we picked were great - and the grouper skewer was lovely, great texture. Lavender cocktail was fun too, with the garnish being lit on fire. Great attentive service and a good experience.

Visited with local friends and had a refreshing experience in both food & drinks and enthusiastic service. All we ordered was on point; food and drinks. These people do care. Beautiful ambiance inside.

DELICIOUS. I'm not a pizza person and a picky eater but the pizza here was so so good. Our server was wonderful and pretty attentive. Love the decor, the place is dark but that's not a problem for me. Over all loved it.

Most of the restaurants in Old San Juan were packed, and La Ó was able to accommodate us with no reservation. All four in our group were vegetarian and there were SO many items on the menu. Cocktails and mocktails were great- specifically their ginger & lavender lemonade. We got the hummus and arancini to start, then shared a pumpkin pizza, beetroot pasta, and beetroot salad. The food was amazing and I was happy with how flavorful our vegetarian dishes were. I was also impressed by how unique their menu was. Lots of dishes I had never seen before! Our server was great!! When we initially got seated at 6pm the host did warn us there was a reservation at 7:30 (it was holiday season). We did not feel rushed at all and our food came out at a decent pace. I would definitely recommend this spot specifically for vegetarians, but anyone who is looking for a great Italian spot with an interesting menu in Old San Juan.

This is a beautiful restaurant with many cool details, featuring vintage/antique decor. The last time I was in Old San Juan we went somewhere that was horrible. I was determined to choose something amazing and La Ó definitely delivered! We had the arancini trio and lamb sliders to start. Both delicious. A pitcher of Sangria, that went down sooo easy! My fiancé had the steak and I had the stuffed pepper salad with a side of risotto. Both of my dishes were explosions of flavor- in the best way possible. The risotto was so so so good, I made sure to take my leftovers to our hotel! The service was fast and friendly- the staff clearly work as a team and it's nice to see. Overall, if you have one dinner in Old San Juan- make it at La Ó.

MUST TRY! My taste buds were screaming with delight at La Ó. We had ordered plenty of appetizers, and dishes, and each one blew me away. perfectly balanced flavors and portions. Cocktails here are creative and delicious. The prices are fair and well worth every penny. Service was quick and attentive. The decor is unique, this place truthfully is a hidden gem. I think about these dishes often and cannot wait to return.

AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to Old San Juan, it get get pretty busy - best to carpool or do public transportation. Seating: Indoor seating or private cabana set ups for groups. Room for a total of 100 people. Feels: Welcome to Old San Juan, a mix of touristy and culture. The spot itself is popular for locals and tourists. As for the space itself, what's unique about this spot is this place isn't just one bar. It's actually a series of connected rooms (about 6-7 different spaces), each with its own vibe - speak easy, dance, casual, house, live music and more! I'm surprised each room can contain it's sounds while maintaining its own energy. It feels like a speakeasy maze meets nightlife experience. Dim lighting, vintage touches, and just enough chaos in a good way. DRINKS/EXPERIENCE It was such a fun night, not sure what I ordered but there is an abundance of flavors as every room has different selections. But popular drinks if you're looking for guidance - lavendar mule, espresso martini, a classic mojito. They got the classic to your well-crafted cocktails. Some spots provide food while others is sip and chill or sip and dance. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Fast-paced but solid. Staff keeps up with the crowd and still manages to be engaging. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars! Good choices, reasonable prices, and a vibe like no other. As a gemini that can be quite indecisive, I enjoyed this spot - especially with its multiple options. This is more than a bar - it's an experience. A spot where the night can go longer than expected. TIPS: * Walk through ALL the rooms--you'll miss half the experience if you don't

We were thrilled when we finally walked through the door again after wracking our brains to remember our favorite spot in Old Town. Upon entering, we were greeted by a young woman who, mentioned it was her very first day as an assistant to the bartender. Despite being brand new, she was warm, engaged, and genuinely welcoming, excited for us that we had made it back after several years, and impressed with our efforts. Shortly thereafter the bartender on duty approached us mid-conversation, visibly irritated. When I mentioned that we hadn't yet decided on drinks but were being well taken care of in the meantime, she interrupted sharply to bark at us that she was the bartender and the ONLY one who could help us. The tone was unwelcoming enough that after a moment, my companion and I determined that we would prefer to move on and left without ordering. The atmosphere is truly special, and it deserves to be matched by the experience guests receive at the bar. Our experience was simply not the vibe that night, and I truly was disappointed FOR the new hire who was doing what she should in engaging us until we could be served. I sincerely hope to return on a future visit to San Juan and to rediscover the experience that first brought me back to La Grieta.
