I being working in the food and beverage and hospitality industry for over 14 years and this is my honest review. This place was on my "places to go list" for over 4 years. Finally went with my family to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation for 9 people. First thing I noticed, none of the servers introduced themselves to us, at the end of the night we couldn't figure who was our server, is like nobody wanted to attend us, resulting in the service being so erratic. They offered appetizers, we ordered the croquettes, without being asked how many orders of that we wanted, since it was a big group, they just assumed that we wanted a whole croquette for each person, charging me 3 orders without letting us know, I would probably order more different appetizers than more of the same. They end up charging us 6 big bottles of water ($6 each), without asking if we wanted more water, I didn't even see them opening so many bottles. They offered a cold cut table at the beginning, we were 4 seated at the moment, because we were waiting for the rest of the group to arrived. They end up charging that table for 4, $64 DOLLARS!, for just a little bit of prosciutto & cheese. Also in their menu they had the truffle pasta listed as Market Price, my sister ordered and expected fresh truffle shaved, when arrived, it was store bought truffle spread, it doesn't make any sense, having something as market price and it isn't fresh, they didn't tell her the price for that, and charged her $55 for that pasta. My husband ordered a $46 dish of lamb chops, sadly the only good thing was the lamb, the mashed potatoes tasted old & horrible and the veggies were unseasoned and raw. At the end my mother wanted them to sing for me, since it was my birthday, they gave the excuse that the girl that sings didn't show up at work that day. What an excuse, I would prefer that they tell me truth about they don't sing, because restaurant's policy or something like that. My birthday was ruined in this place, by the lack of service, overpriced menu items, and their system designed to scam customers. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The food was TERRIBLE!!! Run away from this disgusting food as fast as you can!! I've never been so offended by a meal before. They try to give you Mortons prices for steak but give you a beat up piece of iguana meat. The nerve. Then, there's the service. WOWWWW rude to an insane degree. It seemed like I was being served by vagrants and maybe the most undesirable wait staff on the island. Where did you hire these people from? PR Craigslist?? Oh wait, the manager was just as horrible of a person. That makes the most sense. Trash will hire trash. The owner of this place really needs to step it up. Absolutely amazing. The best meal and best service we have experienced in recent history. An unexpected gem discovered in San Juan. We will be back. The food was impeccable, the wait staff were highly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was comfortable, intimate and romantic. We had 7 courses between the two of us, including two salads, two pastas, a fish, a steak and a dessert. Everything was perfectly done. It was way more than enough food and we ended up taking home almost one entire pasta dish and nearly the entire steak. In all, the bill came out to about $200 but a couple not over-ordering should be able to get away full on ~$60/person (excluding wine). In my experience, this is exceedingly reasonable if not underpriced for what you get. Do yourself a favor, scratch the trip to Italy and book a table at Seccarelli immediately. read more

I was the only person in there, I dined early. So the service was good and the recommendations were spot on. I had the Pear salad with shaved Parmesan cheese, risotto with mozzarella (delicious), and the fettuccine bolognese with ground veal. All delicious. The big elephant in the room with this restaurant are the prices. A $20 pizza, really?! Dominos pizza is right down the street along with smells of urine, feces, and homeless people sleeping outside. Yes, the ambiance was beautiful but the lack of toppings, cheese, and a thin crust does not warrant a $20 price tag. I should've walked right out of the restaurant but decided to stay to see if somehow I would be blown away. This did not happen. I can appreciate they had more than just Jose Cuervo tequila. For some reason many restaurants in Puerto Rico on serve Jose Cuervo and Patron, both of which I do not like. read more

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and gracious servers. Risotto croquettes were really good, though small portion for $8. Both the Burrata and Rughettea al grana salads were very fresh. The grilled branzino with fingerlings, brussel sprouts, and grilled peppers was exquisitely prepared; I am still not over it! The cacio e pepe completely outshined the truffle tagliolini, and was much more affordable. All of this was paired with a wonderful crisp Soave recommend by one of our servers. My first time at this restaurant. I must say that it was very disappointing. It pretends to be fine dining but is far from that, except for the prices. Wines are marked up too high. The waiters had no clue of what each was supposed to be doing. Ours, was more fitted to be at an auto part than a restaurant. He was borderline rude and the service was not up to par. Our Champagne was never served and we were serve a different one that what was on the wine list because they ran out of the one we ordered Food was good but expected. We have tried the other sister restaurant and they are far better than this one. It needs a change in personnel if it expect to survive the times. It does have potential but it is not managed right. I'm not a negative person, but after a bad evening I need to post my horrible experience. No one deserves to be treated as bad as we did. We have been at Seccarelli Rest located @ Centro Europa for my friend's birthday on last Sunday night. We were a party of seven, at the beginning we were very happy since we wanted to taste the "Sagra del Tartufo Estivo", the two first courses were ok but third course was Scaloppini and it looked horrible and tasted extremely salty nothing similar to Tartufo at all. We returned the dish and back and then came the Chef owner came into our table screaming "he haves thirty something years of experience and no one make false accusations about his food". We only let him know that everything was fine except the Scallopini. He was screaming so loud with no class at all. I try to tell him to lower his voice, that we were very happy in our friend's birthday, but he did not hear me at all, he was to concentrated on his bad behavior and manners, screaming in front of everyone. We felt so ashamed! . After that not a single waiters came in to our table. Very disappointed with the way Mr. Franco Seccarelli and his son Matteo treated us.
