Service can be slow but food quality is good. Love the Mofongo con Pollo con cuatro queso salsa (recommend adding bacon pieces ). Reading through many of the unjustified negative comments, never seen a dirty table, there is no sign saying fast food , if they tell you they are short staffed put your American entitlement away and tell them in advance you want to split the bill.. it is not rocket science, it is decency. May I suggest as your social calendar is so obviously full, that McDonalds next door be more your thing for fast inedible garbage. Great place, nice staff, good location missing only one thing.. WIFI HOWEVER, having said all that good stuff previously, today I just watched a waitress on Sat 27 Dec at 1pm humiliate a client because he could not eat pork. It was disgusting, no help, no substitutions for allergy or other dietary restrictions, Attitude, rude and impatient, hands on her f*t hips scolding him for wanting something different. He felt like he had to apologize for his diet. .. Normally all the servers are great. She needs to go, I would fire her on the spot if I owned the cafe. Oh my! After a long flight and grabbing a rental which was only seconds from this tasty restaurant it was recommended we try Odyssey. We were starving and needed something good to eat. After looking over the menu which was kind of pricey I decided to go with shrimp in creole sauce with rice and Parcha (passion fruit juice). You could sit inside or outside we opted for outside as you could watch the planes go by as it's literally right next to the airport. It was a nice scenery. While the servers were very nice the food did take awhile which was a little disappointing but the told us they're short staffed and there was a lot of customers. But we waited and I'm glad we did because this was the best creole shrimp I've ever had! The flavor, the taste, the way it was made perfecto! I was so happy with my meal and the jugo de chinola (passion fruit juice) was amazing even had pieces of pulp in it, which I'm a big passion fruit drinker and I've never had the seeds left in it or the pulp pieces and it was sooooooo good. I think everything was extremely delicious. Just the food did take awhile and the parking here is horrible, there's not much space and it gets packed quick. The food is very good. The service was good but it was a little slow for the salmon quesadillas it took an hour around to come. The place is small like a mom and pop spot so if you got a big group, you might have to wait cause it gets crowded but I did like the food. This spot was just about five minutes from our Airbnb, so we took an Uber since it was late at night. We arrived around 11 PM, and the place was packed. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, but it was well worth the wait. The food exceeded my expectations--especially the salmon quesadilla, which I had never tried before. As soon as you land at the airport, please go straight here... the first bite of the food here was the most welcoming gesture Puerto Rico could give us. Honestly, the area is pretty sketchy and my friends and I were pretty scared to park in the streets at night. When you walk in, most of the workers don't speak English so it took awhile to put our order in. Some ingredients were out of stock but we were able to make the right adjustments to still get the full experience here. Pina Colada was SO good and cheap here, and came in a big to-go cup so we were able to just take the leftovers when we asked for the check. This was our first stop in Puerto Rico because it was near the airport. We wanted a place to hang while the traffic died down before making the trek across the island. My buddies ordered the fried pork and I opted for the salmon. The service was friendly but a little slow but nothing excessive. Our food arrived hot and the portions are reasonable. The pork was very flavorful and tender. My salmon was a little over cooked but once I got some garlic butter it was fine. The rice and beans was on point though. Normally I am not a fan of beans but once I tasted them it was over. They were seasoned so well that I ate them all! We all did. Open late and in my opinion this is a plus. There is a place next door to them that is open 24hrs but I don't think they serve the same items. Upon entry, they took temperatures and sprayed our hands w hand sanitizer. We were seated instantaneously afterwards. The menu is vast with items such as quesadillas, ceviche, pasta and pizza. The ceviche was very good and fresh. We also ordered a penne pasta plate with steak and that was rich and creamy. Got chocolate cake as dessert. Sorry no pics of the ceviche nor ice cream. Last meal before leaving Puerto Rico and I am so glad we chose this place! My boyfriend and I wanted one last good meal before we left back home and this hit the spot! We ordered the fresh juices - both were delicious!!! I ordered the chicken tacos which were probably the best chicken tacos I've had - they were so juicy and so flavored. It was amazing! My boyfriend wanted a burger so that's what he ordered. He enjoyed it so much and was in love with how it was marinated. It was so inexpensive for what we got and the quality of the food. so it was the end of our Puerto Rico tour and we were returning our rental car. while going to the rental office, we saw this restaurant. it was 9 PM and we knew after returning our car and taking the airport shuttle, we won't get many options for a meal. So we stopped here, parked in a congested space which they call parking (its fine space, don't worry). not sure but the door was locked, you knock and they open the door for you- they have their own reason for this. anyway- small but clean, well-maintained restaurant. I guess it's very old in this area and like us, many patrons are those who were taking the airport shuttle. we ordered our favorite- Fish Tacos- before leaving, we wanted to have the last bite of local fish tacos- it was good, fresh. Kudos Burrito - it was heavy, I could not finish both halves, so I packed the rest and dare to pass it through custom (and I did) - and then slept through whole flight journey and next thing I know, I am eating the leftover at home in new jersey..lol Service was a bit on the slow side, as they were quite busy in delivery -to-go orders. but this is a good option in this area. This is the absolute worst "Latin" spot I have ever been to. I ordered the bistec, with arroz and habichuelas... what I ended up getting was cut up pieces of "bistec" , which tasted & looked like chewed up pieces of fat . They served it to me in a bowl on the side with 75% onions and 25% "bistec". The rice, which is supposed to be the easiest thing to make... was dry, tasteless, and cold. They basically heated up old rice in a microwave and served it to me. The habichuelas were warm on the top and cold at the bottom. Clearly they didn't finish microwaving it. Finally, the "salad" on the side was clearly an old bag of mixed salad that they sprinkled some water on . I have never been this disappointed with such a simple meal. If I could give 0 stars, I really would. As for the service, my waitress was kind and was clearly embarrassed by the food. However, the head waitress or whatever she was, claimed there was nothing wrong with the food. At that point, I realized she was clearly in denial and has not tried the food for herself. I decided to just walk out and pay it, did not even touch my meal and left. Absolutely horrible experience. Please avoid this spot, don't be tempted because it's near the airport. Great spot for our first meal after landing. We were pretty hungry and ordered a ton. We started with some much needed margaritas- I got the passion fruit and it was refreshing and delicious, but not very strong. The beef tacos were yummy and flavored well. I got shrimp flavored mofungo with garlic sauce- the portion of shrimp was very generous and the sauce they recommended paired great. My husband got the chicken filled mofungo with cheese sauce (I think?). It was his first mofungo and he was very pleased. Surprisingly our fave was the Puerto Rican rice. Drooling remembering it. This place is one if my best driving by finds. Driving on the freeway late when everywhere is closed and then an "OPEN" sign. It was an easy decision, however it did not mean you know what your going to get. Well let me tell you what you will get. Great service, family owned and staff on site very welcoming and friendly. I looked at their options and everything look tasty but the question I had was, how fresh is it at this time (3am)? The owner offered me tastings and WOW! I was sold and ordered Pulpo (octopus) ceviche & (fish) ceviche de pescado in a hard shell taco which was prepared with lettuce and cheese.. cheese? Right?! It was fucking delicious! After eating my octopus & fish I decided to order a Charusco taco with their homemade guacamole spicy salsa which was also . Great mix of Puerto Rican and Mexican seafood. Was a little intimidated by the reviews I had read but, wow were they wrong. The fish ceviche was so yummy with its unique taste. (I think it has giner). Also the house pico de gallo is so crazy good. My friend had a Mofongo with Salmon. Salmon was soft and juicy. Overall it was a foodys paradise and the ambience is real Puerto Rican. Hitting up again before I leave on my flight back to the states. read more
