This place is ON POINT!! We were just passing through and decided to try Moe's and I'm so glad we did!! I had the turkey sandwich, 'Bama style!! It did not disappoint and neither did the potato salad or green beans! The bun for my sandwich was soft and fresh and one of the best buns I've had. My son had the pulled pork sandwich and his teenage tastebuds were very happy. My husband has the turkey platter. He loved his food as well. We're originally from Kansas City and love that style of bbq and it's hard for us to find anything comparable but tonight we found it!! Here is what you need to know: Everything I have had on the menu is excellent. The smoked dishes are moist and flavorful, while the ribs are meaty and fall off the bone. The costs for the meals are also quite reasonable. The only reason I gave Moe's a 4-star rating was for the mediocre customer service. A very good value: good food in generous portions for a very fair price. We both went for the catfish dinner platters to go. Good catfish is hard to find where we live and this one was amazing. It was very nicely packed so it was no problem to bring it back to our hotel. It was delicious. A big surprise was that the coleslaw is not creamy. I love vinaigrette-based coleslaw and that is hard to find too. Very pleasantly surprised by Moe's today, the mark of a good BBQ place is both the quality of their meat, along with the sides. I had the brisket, which was truthfully a 4/5, but the sides of Jambalaya and Chile that I got (along with a rocking piece of cornbread) were what puts this place into a 5 star category. Ribs- Good cuts overly sweet rub very light to no smoke flavor drizzled in their BBQ sauce - sauce was not good and had a strong ketchup flavor Pulled Pork- overly moist No smoke flavor very little bark on the outer pieces Tasted like it was prepared in a crock pot Corn bread- I like the way it was prepared thin with a crispy top however I have never understood jalapeño corn bread, I prefer butter and honey flavors. Not great. Not even very good. The pulled pork sandwich tasted like it was microwaved in a package. No smokey flavor. The sauce had a consistency comparable to water. Freakin' good, amazingly FAST bbq. We stopped in before hitting up a local brewery to grab a bite, and we barely made it to the end of the counter after paying and our food was already up! The pulled pork was perfect and the baked beans are good. The cornbread was just okay (add honey) and my buddy said his banana Nilla wafer pudding was tasty. It seems like restaurants in Colorado's resort communities are either very expensive and good, or an expensive but mere caricature of what one could find in the metro area. Moe's Original Bar B Que in Eagle is neither - as they have good prices, solid BBQ and good service speed. On a recent trip, from order to service for 5 people was a mere 10 minutes. With kid's meals being $1 with the purchase of an adult meal (which isn't advertised well, if at all), I was nearly dumbstruck by the final total (in a good way). The flavors here aren't exceptional, and neither is the portion size, but the value was tremendous to try a variety of sides and options (sides were $1 with purchase)/ I had a Catfish sandwich with a tasty tartar-style sauce on it. The baked beans were very good, and the cornbread also hit the sport. The mud pie was small but also a nice dessert. At $10 for the aforementioned meal (including some coleslaw which was tough and didn't seem overly fresh), Moe's represents a solid option in an overheated and overpriced region of Colorado. read more

Worth a visit. Not a lot of BBQ places in this area. The food was ok. The meat is decent. The sauce is not at all what I think of for southern BBQ though. The sides are kind of weird. Who puts jalapeños in black eyed peas? The sweet tea was legit. Not my favorite place, but it'll do for a BBQ fix. read more

I was here a few months ago with a crew working with the wildland firefighters at the base camp in Eagle (this was in August). Our crew wanted to go to a place to eat that wasn't the food from camp, so we found this place. And Man! The food is amazing! I had the Smoked Turkey, Mac and Cheese, and Potato Salad. Nice...my husband and I live 117 miles away in Grand Junction, CO. Sadly all we have in GJ is a Rib City and a Famous Daves. We are certified KCBS judges so we tend to avoid chains. Tried Moe's Original BBQ a few years ago and never wrote a review. Went back yesterday and realized I needed to write one. This place has a great vibe..great prices and excellent side choices. I had the ribs platter with two sides. Had the collard greens and mac and cheese. I have never actually had collard greens before. Not sure why not but I am a huge fan now. Tender, vinegary and hot. Their ribs were perfectly cooked, just the right bite through. Nice dry rub and their sauce is a good basic bbq that goes great with the ribs. My husband had the pulled pork platter and it was wonderfully moist. They fry their cornbread on a flattop as someone else mentioned and that is a great touch. A little crispness on one side. Keeps the cornbread from falling apart. Our only regret is we did not get more to take home. We will be back for sure :) read more

We had a rack of ribs takeout. It was pretty good. Love the spice rub , not too overly salty or smoky. When paired with BBQ sauce it was just delicious. Meat was tender but not falling off the bone. I'm from the south and this barbecue reminds me of it. This place has great pulled pork, great tasting sides, the cornbread tastes like it's made from scratch and the sweet tea is spot on. I'm glad I moved down here and Moes is close by now. read more

Have eaten at Moe's for years sporadically, mostly because my first experience was not so good, and I don't travel to the Eagle area much. Went on a trip to Bonfire Brewery and headed down to Moe's as a result and it was not a good experience at all. End of shift, and out of pulled pork (its a pork place after all), was told I should have come earlier. Got a 1/2 chicken instead and it was bland, and gave me the squirts the next morning like water. Staff no so good either, but not terrible. What ever happened to the notion and practice that customers are first, and they make the business go around? Have decided (maybe finally) that visiting Moe's just isn't worth it any more), will not return. Giving up, the trend is down in quality of food, and quality of caring for the customer's needs. Let me start out by saying, what I had was good. But what I wanted was out, and my second choice was also out. My first choice was ribs, my second pulled pork. Have you ever been to a BBQ place that was out of one of those things? Let alone both?! I think a little more planning is necessary in order to assure you have enough inventory to meet your customers demands. I ended up going with the wings, of which I received about 7 of the meatiest wings I've ever seen. Taste was pretty good, texture was a little tough. For sides I ordered mac & cheese and potato salad. The Mac was a bit above average, better than most restaurants but not the best I've ever had. The potato salad tasted just like my grandma makes it (with the addition of sweet pickles), which means it was pretty damn good. read more

Very good southern style BBQ with all the staples. As a certified KCBS judge, I really appreciated the quality. Ribs very tender and flavorful. Pulled pork was a little too moist, almost wet but this ain't no contest, this is a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon for Pete's sake. Pleasantly surprised with the selection of sides. I had the smoked chicken gumbo and beans. I sampled the kids skillet corn and homemade mac & cheese, both were delicious. Cornbread was fried on one side. (I gotta try that when I get home) Nice selection of blues music in the background and eclectic pictures throughout... Blues, jam band, Alabama football and astronaut photos.
