It started with a great first impression when owner Craig Eulenfeld was extremely through in his review of our project being helpful to share options for upgrades but always leaving the final decision with us as owners. Co-owner Tammy was equally professional in her approach with expert design advice and options that we could comfortably choose from. We made an initial assessment of the work to be done and then supplemented that with additional work as we moved through the project. The Eulenfeld team was always meticulous in their attention to detail and did quality work. We always felt briefed on the progress of work as it was happening. The workers on the project were courteous and helpful when we stopped by to check on how the remodeling was coming along. Project manager Terry Eulenfeld was always very helpful with looking for and finding solutions to any issues that came up during remodeling. Bart, his right hand man on the job site, took great pride in his work on the project and was always engaging when we stopped by. As the design guru, Tammy was most helpful with offering suggestions on design features that went together and would accompany us on site visits to various stores such as when we were picking out countertops. The Eulenfelds and their entire team have the customer's interest at heart. They pay close attention to detail and deliver a quality product in the end. Without reservation we wholeheartedly share our testimonial of a great experience with our home renovation by the Eulenfeld family. They care about their work and the customer. I hired this company for an entire-house insulation job based on their comprehensive estimate…read more Unfortunately, their lack of transparency and willingness to leave a job incomplete without telling me was a major breach of trust. The back room of my house is sectioned off from the main structure. The contractors completed the main house, packed up their truck, and were actively ready to leave. They did not say a word to me about any issues. I had to stop them and explicitly ask, "How did you get into the top of the back room to put insulation in?" Only AFTER I asked this direct question did the contractor finally admit, "We were not able to access the room." Had I not stopped them to ask, they would have driven away and left me under the false impression that my entire home had been insulated as promised. To make matters worse, when I confronted them about trying to leave without telling me, Justin shifted the blame onto me, saying something along the lines of, "Well, you knew about it and should have told us." He then claimed, "There is no possible way for us to get back there." I find it highly unlikely that it was truly "impossible" to access; it felt much more like they simply did not want to do the extra work or take the time to adjust the original estimate. Further, Justin defensively informed me something along the lines of, "I am not arguing to get paid." I had not said a single word about withholding payment; his immediate defensiveness showed exactly where his priorities were. As the professionals hired to do a job, it is their responsibility to inspect the site and communicate issues not blame the homeowner or get defensive about money. A professional contractor should proactively communicate and adjust the final invoice, rather than hiding incomplete work and hoping the homeowner doesn't notice. I cannot recommend a business that operates with this lack of integrity. Ultimately, the company did deduct $288.00 from the final invoice to account for the uninsulated room, and as far as I can tell, the main portion of the house was insulated correctly. For those reasons, I am leaving two stars instead of one.
