My Avalanche's transmission decided to die on my husband on his way to work. Responsibly we had a tow truck deliver our truck to Jose the owner of Modesto Auto Masters. Both Jose and his guys were very professional, friendly, quick and knowledgeable. The turnaround time to receive my truck was phenomenal and our transmission now shifts as smooth as soft butter. The best part was the whole entire time Jose was honest with pricing and confirmed the date we would get our truck back and everything was 100% accurate. My husband and I would definitely return and highly recommend this place for both our and your vehicle(s). On top of this, the owner even washed our truck because it was heavily covered in dirt from all the raining and weather we were having during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022. Now that I finally have a chance (after the holiday rush) I am so thrilled to leave my review and to also be confident in knowing my truck is secure/reliable and has been accurately fixed. Absolutely terrible service I went for a diagnostic to find out that I needed A sensor replace, PC valve and skid plate replace. Auto masters wanted to to charge around 1250 dollars for repairs and labor. I myself decided to get two more opinions before I decide to commit to the repairs. The other auto repair shops stated the same issue that my vehicle needed new spark plugs and fluid flush That ran a price of $200 dollars. Auto masters spend more time running around there parking lot than their shop. Auto masters runs up there price and are not truth. Save your money and your time. read more

Dont give this place your business if you want to be lied to and cheated . They broke all my clips to my wireing harness. And left them hanging, broke my clip to my vavle cover and never told me about it and I had to take my car back again because I couldnt even drive it to work after they had it for a month already. I really think the machanic are sloppy and I will never let this shop work on none of my cars. Please make sure you inspect your car before and after when going to any shop. I went to Autozone to get a new battery after mine went bad. Autozone did not feel comfortable putting in the new battery. They mentioned a place up the street that would probably do it. I went there, and the guy said I needed to leave it for the day. THE DAY! It is a 5 min fix, but I get he was busy. I didn't want to turn my car off and saw Modesto Auto Masters across the street. They were awesome. They replaced my battery and didn't charge me. Quick and friendly. I highly recommend. They saved my day. read more

I had been looking for a good oil change location in Modesto for quite some time, due mostly to the fact that I was a Big O' Tires customer - a customer that got screwed over multiple times. That being said, the people here are very welcoming (albeit, more on the quiet side) and understanding. The oil change cost was significantly cheaper than at other locations. As of the time of this review, the cost for my Honda civic was $25.01 total. They were efficient and didn't take an extravagant amount of time. I was second in queue. They have a keychain marker which tracks how many times you've gotten an oil change. Again, as of the time of this review, after 5 oil changes, you receive your 6th for free. This was a great selling point for me as a customer. It indicates they care about the loyalty of their customers. I no longer live in Modesto, but when I do come here for extended periods of time, this will be the place I go to for oil changes for now on. I highly recommend it. read more

Our Kia dealer recommended them for an issue with our bumper. Went by to have them take a look, and within minutes I was greeted, asked how they could help and had answers! They gave me two options...talked with me about the cost, etc. They ended up helping me fix the part that was loose right there and sent me on my way. No charge. GREAT customer service! The WORST customer service I have ever seen. Rude, and they lied about things they said had to be replaced for my warranty company to continue coverage, which my warranty company told me was false. They have had my car for over 5 weeks, and blame any one or thing else they can for their faults. The only reason I went there was because my dealership referred me to them. I am definitely calling and letting my dealership know how terrible this shop is. They also tried to over charge the warranty company $1000. Total crooks!!! Sent my homeless father here because i had one good experience here a few months back but it was a mistake. The quoted him at 600 wich was steep then after he got it was almost 900 they knew it was his home and took advantage of that because he would have no wear to go he had to pay to get his home. I advise you take your chances els wear this one is milking homeless folk during a pandemic this business should be ashamed. I will never return, they make it seem like give you a deal but are price gouging on the parts major. Looked them all up at orileys and autozone to comparison and all of them together didn't even reach half the amount they charged him, they also charged him 95 dollars to read the codes something orileys will do for free. You are bad people karma will put you out of business! Also his check engine light when back on automotive bureau has been notified and the bbb I truly pray you go out of business and taste struggle first hand.... trash read more

I just went to this repair shop a few minutes ago with hopes of getting my oil changed on my 2006 325i, unfortunately the mechanic said he was not comfortable working on my car because of the year and make and he suggested another shop in town that would be able to use a scanner and do the oil change correctly. I appreciated the honesty from this young man. He did let me know that any other minor repair on my car he would be able to do but that oil changes require a particular scanner that they did not have. For the honesty the get 5 stars in my book. read more

During a business trip a colleague and I had major brake issues. The brakes were done by a shop back home (6 hours north) a few months earlier. The work was warrantied and MAM was an approved shop for the warranty repair. We made it to the shop prior to the vehicle arriving via tow truck and we explained the situation we were in (going to be late for a corporate award banquet etc). When the vehicle arrived on the tow truck they immediately unloaded it and went to work. They diagnosed the issue and assessed that we would need parts that they did not have on hand. They ran to the dealership, got the parts and finished the work on the defective caliper. Although there was only one caliper that had an issue, they removed all 4 tires and double checked the other three calipers to see if they had the same issue. Here comes the good part. Even though all of this work was warrantied through a third party they elected to not even pursue the reimbursement of the claim as it was only a $5 bolt and labor. She said that a repair like this wasn't really worth the time and paperwork to pursue, and that she was just happy that they could get us repaired and back on the road to make our dinner. I took my car to this place 8 months ago to get a new water pump. The water pump is already leaking, and they will not do anything about it. They say they only guarantee their work and parts for 3 months. That is horrible. Obviously they used inferior parts. I would never recommend this place to anyone. When I got upset with them, they told me to get off their property. When I told them that I was writing a bad review here, and on facebook, they said that was fine. They were very rude to me, and that is no way to run a business, or get repeat business. They might be fine for oil changes,but do not take your car there for anything else I do not know how they are still in business since they are so unprofessional. read more

I took my car here for an oil change and a week later my oil light came on and started smelling burning oil. I took it to my mechanic and he said that "There is nothing wrong with my car. The person who did my oil change did a sloppy job and did not tighten my oil filter that is why its been burning oil fast, and why I been smelling oil burn." This could of caused my car major problems and mess up my engine!!! Thank god I got it tightened and an oil change for $40. Watch out. My car came back with a scratch to my bumper. The mark on my bumper matches the little red concrete pole they have there. Of course they didn't let me know, until I got home. Came in because my car kept stalling while driving and dropped it of and went home. Came back the next following day and found out they left my car running for hours and hours after I told them it only dies while driving. What kind of freakin diagnostic is that. Wear and tear on my engine leaving it running for hours. Took it home, the problem came back the same day. read more
