I love, love, love Modern Market, and always try to look for it wherever I am visiting and when I am in the mood for fast casual healthy dining options. I came in for a really early dinner/late lunch after driving around since the early morning, and I was exhausted. I usually stick to my go-to order -- the half pizza with an arugula side salad -- but this time I decided to switch things up. I ordered the Thai Coconut Salad, swapped the chicken for tofu, and added a cup of sweet potato soup since it was freezing outside. I also grabbed a kombucha and ate everything inside the restaurant. The food was exactly what I needed: fresh, flavorful, and super comforting. One thing I always appreciate about Modern Market is how transparent they are with calorie counts and nutrition info. They make it easy to customize meals, especially if you're vegetarian or just want to swap out a protein. It's such a relief to go somewhere that's both flexible and consistent. I first discovered Modern Market several years ago thanks to a Yelp Event. Somehow, they fell off my radar but thanks to this location, I recently rediscovered them. I've been to this location multiple times and on each visit the staff has been very welcoming. Orders are placed at the register, and they give you a numbered identifier which is placed at the table. Once your order is complete, they deliver it to your table and retrieve the numbered identifier. As for food, the menu consists of numerous healthy choices including bowls and salads along with build-your-own options. I have tried the Smoky Chicken Bowl, the Blackened Chicken Mango Bowl and the Baja Blackened Chicken Salad. While all were fresh and flavorful, my go to quickly became the Baja Blackened Chicken Salad. I'm craving it as I think about it while writing this review. Each of my visits has been towards the end of the day, within a couple hours of closing. It's been very impressive to walk in and find the place clean as if they just opened. I am grateful to have rediscovered Modern Market; they will definitely be in my rotation of healthy/tasty choices. If you are looking for healthy options for a quick meal, Modern Market is the place. We've been wanting to try Modern Market out and finally had the chance. It started with great, friendly counter service to welcome us and help us familiarize us with the menu. I went with the Buddha bowl. The ingredients were fresh and a great combination together. My husband went with the Lemon Grass Tuna bowl. One of the things we liked about their operation is we could substitute riced cauliflower in the place of rice. We would have liked the portion sizes to have been a bit bigger as my husband needed a snack later when we got home. There's multiple locations for this restaurant and I'm glad there's one near me. One of my favorite food to get are the chipotle steak and the blueberry pesto sandwich. I decided to try something new today so I got the M'Rita pizza and it was delicious! The sauce and cheese were on point and it was baked well considering how crispy the crust was! I love the atmosphere here. It brings a happy vibe with how bright and open it is. With the multiple times I have come here, the staff have always been nice and welcoming and the food came out at a reasonable time. The food was quite pricy for the amount of food given. Nice place. I stopped in here and got an angus beef "bowl" (pictured), and it was good. It reminded me of a home-cooked meal (the meat was a little tough and chewy but not bad), and the price is a little high at about $16 for the bowl, but hey, it's a nice lunch option. It's definitely cheaper than a comparable hot bar meal at Whole Foods, which is a few steps away, and it was quicker than Smashburger (next door), which had a 25 to 30 minute wait at the time. Really not impressed at all. Kettle chips were overly seasoned. Interesting selection of lemonades and iced teas- we mixed and matched. Bathroom- only two total of which they are coed/generic. This place is really hit or miss. I come here quite often, but mostly for the margarita pizza, which is the closest thing to an actual authentic margarita pizza I can get near me. I can't hate on it, the ingredients seem high quality, and it's pretty delicious, but the employees burned it one time. The reason only 3 stars is: 1) some of the staff seem unprofessional and uncaring. It's mostly young kids goofing around and not taking the job seriously. McDonald's-quality of worker. Which is fine I guess, but just expect the same quality of service and pride in their work. It comes with the territory. You'd think they'd hire better quality employees because the food is higher prices and higher quality, but it's not the case. 2) it's overpriced for what you get. I tried their salmon curry and their steak bowl the other day and they were both surprisingly quite good. But the portions were disappointing for the price. It leaves you feeling a bit ripped off even if it tastes okay. Prices need to be about $2 cheaper for everything, just about. I only tried it because I had $10 off and I ate one of them for lunch the next day. All in all, give this place a shot if something looks good and you're trying to eat healthy. First of all I would like to mention the location - Modern Market Eatery is located in the brand new modern urban area called CityLine. What a fantastic piece of a metropolitan in the suburbs! With an advantage of having sufficient number of parking spots, of course) Coming back to the Eatery itself - great place for health-conscious people! Food here is amazingly fresh, delicious and healthy... You can't go wrong with their menu. Portions are huge. Food comes out quickly (even during busy lunch hours). The interior is very modern and funky with an industrial feel. Those yellow chairs definitely add a fresh look to the space. They have plenty of seating inside and outside. I ordered the flatiron salad to go; excellent choice it includes fresh salad mix with grilled onions, grape tomatoes, a few spoonfuls of blue cheese, small white potatoes and strips of steak across the top perfectly prepared. They didn't ask how I wanted the steak cooked but it was a a touch under medium. Very popular at lunch, very organized and quick. I have a great new go-to for lunch. This place is geared to a healthier choice in dining. I purchased the half pizza and salad combo. I ordered my favorite bbq and chicken pizza and a Thai salad. My pizza was amazing, salad was good, will try a different one next time. My daughter had the grilled chicken with sweet potato and Brussel sprouts, she really enjoyed it. The meal is a bit on the pricey side, especially for lunch, around $27 for the both is us. Will we go back, yes. I highly recommend it. Uber Eats only partially refunds a screwed up order and you're stuck with lackluster food. Not to mention the portions seem to have gotten smaller overall. Came here for lunch with coworkers (party of 8) and the place was packed! We waited in line to order and I browsed through the menu; it was really hard to pick what I wanted because everything sounded delicious! I ended up taking advantage of their mix & match option and getting the 1/2 pizza and 1/2 salad combo. For the salad, I chose the wintergreen, which comes with spinach, apple, goat cheese, roasted potatoes, dates (I asked for no dates), walnuts, and agave herb vinaigrette. For the pizza, I got the proscuitto, which also comes with arugula, pear, gorgonzola, and a three cheese blend. The portions are huge! I knew I was getting half a pizza but I wasn't expecting the half salad to be as big as it was. The flavors in it were really good - I especially loved the goat cheese, roasted potatoes, and walnuts, but thought the agave herb vinaigrette was too tart for my taste. If I ordered this again (which I definitely would) I would probably either have them go light on the dressing or swap it out for a different dressing entirely. The pizza was also great, though I wasn't huge on the gorgonzola - I probably should've asked for it to be removed. Really loved the combo of the pear and three cheese blend, though, and the crust was thin without being charred on the bottom, which was great. Food was a bit slow to come out since there were so many people there during the lunch rush, and it took us a while to find a table that could fit everyone in our party. Next time I would probably try to come a little earlier or later to avoid the crowd. However, the servers and staff were all great and I really liked that they printed nutritional information right on the receipt for you to see. A great health-conscious restaurant in one of the newer developed parts of town; I'm excited to come back some time and try one of the other options on their extensive menu. read more

Let's begin by saying I really wanted to like this place but after this experience, I really question how leadership is running this store. The concept is great and options sound tasty. I ordered the Cheese pizza, Mediterranean Bowl with double steak, the Turmeric Veggie add steak and a side of Roasted Vegetables Cheese pizza was good and we had no issue. It was tasty and my 5 year old ate more than half of it. The Mediterranean Bowl was ok, I subbed pickled onion for raw onion and did get charged for it. Im not worried about the charge but being nickled and dimed over a Tbl of onion left a bad taste in my mouth, or was that the onion sucked. If that is a pickled onion in the modern market world I think they need to take a lesson from the old world and learn a proper pickle recipe. I have plenty if they need one. Almost tasted like salted onions. Also you should really consider an option to add tomato. Maybe that is a Postmates thing where not all add-on options were available. Dressing was tasty and in general the dish was well put together. I will say if ya'll want to up your game then cook the steak properly. It was very boring and lacked flavor. Give it a proper marinade, then season it and give it a good sear and DON'T just cook it well done every time. On top of it being well done, it looked like it was boiled and held hot for several hours. Had it been a nice medium rare or medium, it would have left a nice impression but well-done dry and not tasty is not what I expect from a concept like this. Now the Turmeric Veggie was a disaster. Super awesome idea for a dish but complete failure of execution. Being in the business, let me note that there are so many things wrong with how that store is being run and I can see it all over this dish. Is leadership even checking the food quality before service begins, are they checking food as it comes up from the stations, are the cooks being held accountable for what they are serving, does anyone have pride in what they are serving, is there a proper prep-list based on sales for cooks to follow when prepping food quantities. The answer is NO to everyone one of those questions. And I am near positive they are just prepping large amounts of ingredients and keeping until its sold as opposed to managing prep quantities based on item sales volume. I love beets as they are natures candy, but Modern Market decided it was ok to give me and Im sure others MOLDY BEETS. Literally there was MOLD growing on pieces of beets in my salad. Oh and the Carrots were so sour that I could smell how rotten they were as I opened the togo box. Furthermore the carrots were so old that they lost any body to them, pale in color and mushy from being so rotten. No excuse other than leadership is poor on so many levels. The watermelon radish is a great touch but I would slice or shave it thinner versus slicing it ¼ thick. The side of Roasted Vegetables was not great. All the veggies looked like they were roasted last week, mushy and please train the cooks to discard the stem half of the Brussel Sprout or at least properly cut them before cooking. Brussel Stem is not fun to eat. Nothing like the picture not even the same vegetables. Vegetables at a concept like his should be vibrant in color, not overcooked, and Fresh daily. This message is not meant to scare guests away from trying this place but its meant to give management a wake up call and begin doing their job and manage the flow of food. This was a very important meal as it was supposed to be for my wife who just got out of the hospital and me at home caring for our two kids 1 being a new born. Let me remind you, we customers depend on you properly doing your job, so if you can't handle running a food operation find something else to earn a living. I did use Postmates and ordered on at about 7pm and spent $65.12 on a med Pizza, two entree salads with steak, 1 having double steak and an extra side of veg. TERRIBLE VALUE read more

This means you have to wait until the catering order is filled before you get your food. If you actually work for a living don't go here. You'll never make it back to work in time.
