Lovely tailors and was on the recommended sheet from Anthropologie weddings, but wouldn't recommend…read morefor wedding dress besides maybe hemming. My soft cat eye top was taken in and from the front center, which changed the look of the dress and where it sat on my chest. I said it wasn't what we discussed and it changed the dress, and they suggested cutting the cat eye corners. I showed them the picture of how it was before and said to make it just that way and the next week luckily they did--it was back as it was! The hemming was just fine and done well. The bustle loops were made of a material that was like a very thin clear fishing line. I was a bit nervous about how it would hold up but I trusted it since I'm no expert. Sadly 1 of 3 bustle loops snapped before walking into the reception and a second bustle loop snapped 10 minutes into dancing. It looks so weird in pictures but it was game time and we couldn't grab a pin. It was a heavy ballgown with a cathedral train and multiple layers. Because it was just so heavy and impossible to hold up, I had to put on my outfit from the rehearsal 30 min into dancing. Luckily I had it with me, but I was so bummed because I wanted to wear it for at least half of the reception dancing! I'd come here for other tailoring because they're quick and reasonable pricing, but not for wedding dresses.

I happened along the Tailored Man through a simple google search about 8 weeks before my recent…read morewedding. I was seeking a custom tuxedo to match the wedding experience my wife and I were planning, and I've only rented tuxedos before. I met Brett at the shop and immediately felt like I was being taken care of through his insightful questions, great candor, honest guidance, and exemplary expertise. Honestly, I came in a bit green to the experience and Brett really took the time to educate me without any impatience, sharing his depth of knowledge to guide me toward the finest dress clothes I've ever owned in my time. I ended up with two custom tuxedo outfits at a competitive price, an outfit change before my dinner reception that had my friends questioning who I was and how I managed to look so sharp. I received countless compliments and kind words from many for how I showed up, and how polished I looked. We had a few small challenges that ran to the wire, as it can happen. It was how Brett resolved them and the certainty by which he delivered on my needs which was truly exemplary. He made sure everything fit and worked perfectly, personally dropped my clothes off at my house, and had one set shipped to me the day before the wedding. He came through, and made it easy for me to trust that he would. I'll be a customer of the Tailored Man for a long time, and alas I won't be able to revert back to a standard look easily now that I've been spoiled by this quality and experience. I'm happy to have a tailor now, and want to thank Brett always for helping me show up at my best, on my best day.

I've tried made-to-measure programs all over the country--from California to New York--and I can…read morehonestly say this is the best made-to-measure suit I've ever had made. What sets this experience apart is that you're not working with someone who is simply selling suits. You're working with someone who genuinely understands classic menswear, tailoring, and proportion, and who has an excellent tailor on the premises. That combination is incredibly rare. In my experience, many made-to-measure programs are primarily sales-driven. The person taking your measurements may be very personable, but often doesn't have a deep understanding of garment construction, fit, or how to modify a pattern to achieve a specific look. This experience was completely different. Every detail was discussed thoughtfully, and there was never any hesitation when I wanted to customize the pattern. Whether it was the lapel shape, shoulder expression, button stance, sleeve pitch, trouser cut, or other details, every request was taken seriously and executed exactly as I envisioned. I'm probably one of the pickiest clients anyone could have when it comes to tailoring. I have extremely high expectations for fit, and I've even had made-to-measure programs tell me they couldn't produce the result I was looking for because my standards were beyond what they felt comfortable promising. This time, the suit arrived exactly as I wanted it. Remarkably, I didn't need a single alteration. That has never happened to me before. Even if price weren't part of the equation, I would still consider this the best suit I've had made through any made-to-measure program. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, willingness to customize, and overall knowledge of menswear is exceptional. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about making the best possible garment--not just making a sale--I recommend him without hesitation. I'll absolutely be back for future commissions.

His suit was comfortable, fit just right, and made him look fabulous- what more do you need? We were both very happy with the results and plan to go back!

Hmm, where do I start. I'd give this establishment negative zero stars if it was possible. I came…read moreto the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price.
