My experience is that the Costco banner is a pure marketing tool. I agree with another review elsewhere that they will get the discount in another form and the overall cost for the exact same product will be much higher than if you go with Lowes or Home Depot or a private contractor. There is generally a generous budget in addition to the installation charges for any additional 'floor preparation'. 30 minutes into the removal of previous floor (carpet) I got a text stating that if I don't pay an additional amount (1300 dollars in my case) they'd stop work. I really felt that this was hostage taking, and I had no choice but to comply. In addition this was not covered by the Costco discount. It is not worth falling for the Costco name in this case. read more

I can't recommend Moda enough if you're looking to do updates to flooring in your home (tile, carpet, hardwoods, LVT, etc). I have used Moda many times in the past as an interior designer for my clients, however it's a very different testament when you choose to use them for your own personal home. After finally having enough with our builder grade 15 year old carpet, I took a visit to Moda to see what options they may have and get a quote. Nicholas was really helpful and provided me with pricing for several options and even allowed me to take a few boards home to see the colors in my space (twice lol). I was really happy with their selection across a wide range of price points, there is honestly no way someone can walk in here an NOT see something they like! Once I finalized my selection, he graciously ordered me a few loose samples to narrow down the color choice and provided me with a detailed quote for tear out, haul away, material, and labor/installation. What I love is that they are 100% a one stop shop....they will move your furniture for you (there are caveats to that, but the huge heavy stuff they will move and put back for you), rip out the old and take it away, material, labor, and the installers even cleaned up afterwards (mind you, there will still be some "construction dust" afterwards which is totally normal, but the bulk of the filth got cleaned up). Between our sales rep Nicholas, our measurer Jonathan, Carlos dropped by to check on progress during the installation progress, and the awesome install crew....we were VERY happy with the start-to-finish process! The install crew is always the one that scares me the most because in these times, from someone who has been in the industry for a bit, you never know WHO is going to show up to do the work...they were incredibly professional, attentive, and truly cared about the work they did. Every step along the way, the Moda team continued to ensure that we had what we needed and provided us with the confidence that they would get the job done, and do it very well. I hope this is our last home project for a little bit lol, but I would not hesitate to go back to Moda on the next one!! read more

Simply put MODA is a great company with great products, work, craftspeople, owners and communication. And we're picky. We have had now 3 jobs done by them. All tile. All done with great results. First a tough shower floor that was sunken cracked and damaged. Not only were the tile replacement choices spot on and great quality, but the craftsmen who visited went above and beyond to correct the sub floor and match the tile, grout lines etc. Needless to say if we used them again it came out flawless. You would never know the floor was replaced. Since that time we recently had some tile in the kitchen and entry to our home replaced. Everything is really stunning work. When we asked to have things done so they were to our (beyond finicky) standards, the company responded simply with "Yes, we will take care of it" and they did what they said. To sum it up.... if we need more flooring, or tile. MODA will get our call and business. read more

Do your homework! Pricing at Moda is not competitive. Example: Moda price $7.57 per squ. ft. The price at American Wholesale Carpeting in Dalton, GA was $5.80 for exact same flooring. When doing renovations, be sure you research EVERYTHING in order to avoid retailers from taking advantage of you. Residential pricing is capricious at best. John S. read more

I rarely write reviews, but the level of good service we experienced in selecting carpet at Moda Floors was so excellent, I'm compelled to write. My wife and I have very different tastes, and Amy Mitchell stood by us with unflagging good humor, through the ups and downs of our 2 lengthy visits to Moda looking for the carpet we could both agree on and be more than happy about. The person who does scheduling for installation called us when Amy said she would. We are scheduled for installation in a few weeks and I feel very confident we won't be disappointed in that process either. read more

I would warn against using Moda floors. We re floored our whole main level and part of the upstairs with a nice hardwood from Moda. Spent over 35k and it was a headache the whole way through the process (they were great before we signed on the dotted line). I could write a five page review on all the blunders and attitudes that we got along the way. All I will say is if you like babysitting people choose Moda. read more

Beautiful store and products. Unfortunately our experience was mixed, really wanted it to give an excellent review since our new floors look great but had a really bad experience with the 2 outside companies that they recommended. We needed a company to remove the hand rail, posts and balusters. MODA, Jessica, recommended Southern Staircase. We asked if they would coordinate with them also, Jessica stated that they could but it would be a charge. She recommended that we hire Southern Staircase but that she would work them and make sure things went smoothly. The coordinating with Southern Staircase did not go smoothly. Their sales person Woody, only communicated with Jessica, which at the time seemed fine since she said that she would coordinate. The issue was that I could not get the final time for removal or a date and time for reinstallation of the stair parts. Jessica said that things would be fine and that she trusted Woody. The removal did not go as planned and eventually MODA's owner Dean got involved. He kept mentioning that they do not work as contractors, this was odd since Jessica offered this option but we did not bring this up since we wanted the focus to be on the job. Working with Dean we were able to get a commitment from Southern Staircase and work moved forward. At the meeting with MODA, we explained that we were painting the posts the 72 hours after the last coat on the stairs. The 72 hour time frame was provided by MODA. To protect the stained treads that MODA did, our painters used the blue tape. When they removed the tape, the tape took off some of the stain. As a customer, I thought it odd that you could not use the tape and contacted MODA. Dean stated that it was our fault, our painter, and that they should have know better. Also he mentioned an 8-10 day cure period, we asked about this but he never responded to our email. He did offer a 1 time touch up, as of today we are waiting for this appointment. 2 days after our initial request for a touch up, I followed up with Dean and Jessica. I got an email from Jessica saying "Subject: FW: Finish information/ touch up appointment Date: Tue, 2 Dec 2014 16:02:33 +0000 Omg he won't stop... Jessica Kreunen I did get an email later that she sent it to me by mistake and was writing to her marketing department. Final thoughts, do not recommend other companies if you do not stand behind them, work on basic customer service skills, provide better information about staining treads so that we know how to paint without using tape. I worked for Macys for over 15 years, my last position was Regional Director of Customer Service. I was always told that it is not how you treat your happy customers but how you resolve/satisfy your unhappy ones. Our floors are beautiful and the MODA installers were wonderful, it is just sad that I will not go there again because I cannot trust their recommendations and trustworthiness. My next project for 2 bathrooms and kitchen, will go elsewhere. read more

My review is based on the fact that after a month and a half, I still haven't received my flooring estimate. Someone came out in September to measure my floors, and show me sample material. The guy was nice and professional, it took about 2 hours to measure and for me to decide on which materials I liked. He leaves and says he'll send me an estimate soon. A week goes by, so I call to check on the estimate. Someone said they'll have him to call me. Another week goes by, so I call again. This time they say he's on vacation. At this point, I'm upset/irate and ask if there's anyone else who can send the estimate to me. They said no, I have to wait on him. I point out the fact that he should've told me he was going on vacation or at least passed on this task to one of his co-workers. I finally get a call from him "while he's on vacation", and he says that he sent the estimate but it must've went to the wrong email address. I give him my email address again and days later I still don't have an estimate. I contact him again about it. This time he says he lost the estimate and has no way of recovering it. I mention that if he sent it to a wrong email address before that it'll probably have a copy in his sent box. Later he says that tech support helped him recover the estimate, and he'll send it to me shortly. A week goes by, and you guessed it- I still haven't received the estimate. So I call the company and decide to escalate the problem to management. The manager sounded like he wanted to be helpful but he also made the comment "it's been a month, and you haven't found anyone else to do your floors yet?" I should've taken that as my last sign to just move on, but I explained to him that I'm only pushing forward with this company because they came recommended from neighbors. He re-assigns my job to another employee, and now we have to start all over. He schedules an appointment to come out and do my measurements again, pick out flooring etc so he can give me an estimate. We had an appointment for Thursday around 10:30am.. today is Saturday and HE NEVER CAME, NEVER CALLED. I stayed home from work waiting for him to show up for this appointment. This is ridiculous and I've never had to beg/chase any company to give them business!! read more

They have some nice things, and the store is laid out nicely, but to find out the prices you have to walk around with a sales person and they have to look up the prices on a piece of paper specifically for that display. Very frustrating to not be able to compare the prices without someone from the store looking everything up for you. We are renovating our entire house, so wanted to compare all types of flooring and tiles. It is nice to be able to see some options in person, and the sales person tried to be helpful, but a very frustrating experience. read more

MODA sales staff are great. Their products are beautiful. They are more expensive but it is worth it. The installers were meticulous! Our neighbor even commented on how amazingly clean they kept a very dirty project so neat, even outside where they were doing all the cutting and mixing related to the tile work. All that being said, do not always trust their recommendations on subcontractors. They suggested Gwinnett Window and Door to install our shower door and it was a disaster (they drilled in the wrong place and damaged our brand new marble. You can read more in my review on them). Almost from the beginning upon entering the showroom, the sales rep treated me like I was wasting her time. She pointed to where the hardwoods were and then went back to chatting about lunch plans with another employee. When I started inquiring about prices, she was visibly annoyed to have to go through the books and give them to me. I guess this is the place you go when you live in Brookhaven and money is no object. If that's you, I guess MODA is your joint. To a company, everyone else in the Best Pick Reports book won't treat you like that. read more
