This company is highly uncoordinated, overcharged us, and did a very poor job with our flooring project. The other reviews seem like the company bribed people to write those bc they are very far from what we experienced 1. We drove an hour plus to pick a flooring option and were told it was in stock but were informed later that it wasn't and we had to drive all the way back to pick another option -- they informed us a 2nd time that it was available and later informed us that it was not and we had to start the process all over again. Being 9 months pregnant and living away from my home due to the flooring issue was a massive inconvenience for us 2. They overcharged us by adding 60 sqft extra to our estimate (on top of the 10% max wastage per industry practice). We only caught this when the insurance company's and their own sister company's estimate did not match. When we inquired, the owner lied to us that the extra 60 is allowed per industry standard -- we verified with the insurance company after and inquired with other flooring experts and they informed us that this is not expected. This costed us an additional 1.5k. 3. We hired their sister company to move / reattach appliances for us. They dragged the appliances on the newly installed floors and we had to get them redone. This further deteriorated the quality of the floors due to stripping an extra layer 4. They placed the new wood logs in another room that we weren't getting done. They damaged it. They repaired it later but it added more time to our project which we couldn't afford with a newborn. 5. The owner sent us a surprise charge of 600 for cabinetry work that we never approved when we asked him to back out items that were not performed in the original estimate -- he pretended to removed those charges only to introduce a new charge that we never approved to cover his margins 6. The owner added painting as a line item in the estimate. We thought it was around the edges of the baseboard which was getting detached and reattached for the flooring work which was covered by the insurance company. We later discovered that they extended the painting to the top and center of the walls in areas that were nowhere close to the floor or baseboard. This was bc their crew put their dirty hands on our walls and they tried to cover it up. -- we discovered this when we saw stains on our bathroom walls which they forget to cover up. They did touch ups on our existing wall without applying primer (which is a basic step that any legit company would do) which created patches on our walls that we will have to cover at our own cost since the insurance company refused to pay to areas that were not part of the flooring project 7. They did not install one of the cabinet drawers properly. We will need to hire another company to fix this. Worst part -- the owner offered us 200 bucks for all the issues above. The 60 sqft extra costed us an extra 1.5k on our project not to mention all the rework and an additional month or so that was added to our project due to all the careless mistakes with flooring selection and the floor damages. read more

IF you have no choice but to go with this company, record all their calls and install cameras, and get multiple estimates because they will lie and rip you off! This is the worst company and the owner is extremely malicious. I'm writing my independent review and experience post my wife's comments below. My wife was hospitalized due to all the stress this company brought us. He reached out after my wife's initial review below making it seem like he was open to correcting the mistakes and refunding us, but he called us names (Called us petty for asking us for the floor warranty due to the damage that they left causing them to refinish therefore we weren't sure if the warrant would still apply). He tried to bribe us to update my wife's genuine review and when we refused to do it, he refused to give us a refund. When we pointed out this is illegal and that we would report him to ftc and yelp, he started backing out. Including the text exchanges in the screenshots as evidence. He tried to make us sign a settlement agreement prohibiting us from writing and updating our reviews. We also filed official complaints with BBB and the Georgia consumer protection department but this company refused to respond and repay us. We had the carpet taken out on the second floor and LVP flooring installed because of allergies with the kids. Candi had amazing communication the whole time and Responded immediately to every question. It was great they had a show room so we could physically see the flooring, and even after a trip up to Dalton Georgia we went with them because of the quality of the flooring, price and because with their package it was so easy. The install team worked hard and fast. We watched them prep the floor by leveling and nailing down all the boards and it's been squeak free. Had a great experience with Into the Woods flooring. I needed engineered hardwood in my master bedroom (less than 300 sq ft), preferably matching the existing hardwood in the hallway. I checked with 4 different flooring places, and Into the Woods gave the most professional impression and a good price- not the cheapest of the 4 (not the most expensive either, and all were within a few 100 dollars), but itemized and came with a call from Candi walking me through the line items so I knew what exactly I was paying for. Candi put in special effort at multiple stages in the process at no extra charge. She helped get samples sent to me to match the existing wood, and managed to schedule the work on a tight timeline to accommodate me. From our first conversation to laying the floor was 2 weeks. Lack of attention to detail. They did a rush job and left gaps and cracks between the wood floors. Wood glue coming up through cracks. The wrong wood was used on our stairs and had to be redone, had to wait over a month to fix it, then they didn't finish it and had to come back out a week later. Quarter round trim was installed sloppily. Our front door can no longer be opened fully because of the new height of the hardwood--which was not detailed and no solution was given from the company other than I'll "just have to deal with it or fix it myself." When they originally came out to do an estimate, I asked for a new flush seamless transition between the kitchen and sunroom because the floor levels were different between the two rooms. There was an old piece of wood that transitioned the floors that came with the house but it was about an inch step up/down, not a seamless flush ramp. They said they could give us what I was asking but instead they just repainted that transition piece that was already there and put it back exactly how it was before. The other alternative would have been to completely raise the floor which would have added thousands to the overall cost. Overall a very frustrating experience--I would have rather paid a premium for a more experienced installer to do it in retrospect. read more

After completing the entire process, I have to say this was the most pleasant experience you could have when refinishing your floors. First there's the communication, which was top notch. Through every step of the process Shamus and his wife Carrie kept us informed of everything happening. This was a big peace of mind and helped us understand the process. The men who did the work were courteous and extremely polite, answering with "yes sir" and "no sir". Sadly you don't find that much anymore. Their work was as impressive as their manners. I bought a property and the living room is a carpet (?) and front door flooring are chipped tiles. I am not a fan of tiles nor carpet, so I was looking for floor installation services. Candi response are respectful and fast. Nolan, the estimator was a good guy to talk to and he explained to me what are needed and gave good recommendations. I love talking to Nolan and he is a funny old dude. Reminds me of my dad haha! The coordination is great with Beth and Tasha. Manuel and his crew is awesome as well. I love the floor installed (I just need my house cleaned), it's just they didn't hide the wiring at the front door. The internet cable, they were able to hide it though. I would like to give them 5 stars but the exposed wiring at the entrance is a no go for me. I would still hire them though for my next project next year! I pride myself on doing my own floors, and I'm typically very meticulous and slow with my work to ensure that things are done right. For the high traffic areas in my house, I knew I had to contact the pros, so I interviewed more than 6 contractors around the Gwinnett area and decided to go with Into the Woods because of their professionalism, itemized lists, and on point communication. And..from the results...I think I chose correctly. I'm not going to lie, it was a hard job. The material that I provided wasn't the sturdiest material (should probably go with their recommendation FYI), but they got it to work and pulled it off beautifully. Both my wife and I were blown away with not only the speed, but also the quality of their work. Our house changed overnight and for a great price. There were some minor bumps in the process, but the whole team was dedicated to making sure that the end results were flawless. (And thank you for handling my new furniture with care). We hit by Atlanta freeze in Dec, 2022. Candi approached us actively, citing that they can help us from insurance claim to restoration work. We signed contract with them, that is our start of a nightmare, a worse nightmare than Dec, 2022 Atlanta freeze. Shamus's slogan is "we need profit", not only try to pocket every penny compensated by insurance, but ask for a lot of $$ for any minor add on works. For example, after all of dry wall removed, we wanted to add a 72 inch wide * 12 inch deep niche in the dining room, he asked $950 just for frame work. Our communication with Shamus is lengthy and very very difficult, His un-professionalism, easily fired up personality added extra stress upon frustration from natural freeze. After we have already paid $35,000 to initialize restoration work, we then realized his difficulty to work with, we wanted to do as less as possible job with them. So we revised our contract, then we are asked for full upfront payment, to pay left $22,000 before they really start their work. Although Candi promised that we can find contractors to do restoration as long as we pay a certain amount for insurance adjuster's work, we are not allowed to hire our own contractors to do carpet, etc. Have anyone ever heard about FULL upfront payment for construction work?! is it a fraud to be asked to pay full price before the job starts? read more

Our home is fairly new and we had some structural issues with our second floor a year after moving in. The floor was sagging in the hallway upstairs because of misaligned concrete footings and support beams. After going back and forth with the builder and them doing the minimum to fix the issue we knew we needed to get our subfloors raised. We needed our floors replaced due to water damage and while our home insurance company sent another flooring company to do them, we decided to go with Into the Woods instead due to their high rating on Yelp. They were very very helpful and walked us through the process. I went to their showroom and the lady who helped me (I think her name was Beth) explained in detail the differences among the types of flooring. Since they had the LVP that I wanted in stock, it didn't take long to schedule the actual date for their people to come do our floor. We were given a time frame that it might take a couple of days to do everything, from removing the old flooring to replacing them with the new. On the scheduled date, the contractors came and finished everything in a day. We are very happy with their work and the floor looks gorgeous. We noticed the difference between their product and how well they were installed compared to how our builders did it (it's a new construction home) right away because the floor felt stable, whereas our old floor that the builders put, there were many places where we felt air pockets as we walked on them. It is absolutely retaliation and that's ok just be honest. You go from providing a $100 to telling me I owe you. You can go by what your contractor stated and we can move forward and lawyers decide. I was never given notice of a fee for the contractor coming out until I advise you your contractor used my restroom "without " permission and left feces on my toilet. Also, please advise how I'm billed for 2 visits when the second visit was due to the office not advising the contractor of the correct stain to bring on the 1st visit which is written in a text. You offered to have the contractor to come back out with the correct stain to rectify the miscommunication. He also took all of his materials. Yes once voices were raised I hung up, there's no need to continue to argue. We can move forward and let other dictate how to handle this bill that I shouldn't have. read more

We are very happy with the floors. A representative came to our home to take measurements, received multiple quotes with various options and once we decided, the work began. Once the floor was ready for stain, a representative laid out different colors we were debating which made it very easy to select a final color as we can physically see how it would match the interior colors under real lighting. The team at Into The Woods Flooring did a great job at my home. I had originally planned to replace only the 40+ year old flooring in my home, but after ripping up the old flooring, they found that there was no plywood underneath but rotting and damaged planks instead. The previous floor was also creaking, buckling, and had several low spots. Shamus came up with a solution to place to repair the planks and put new plywood on top of the repaired planks. Candi stepped in to revise my estimate, and the team was still able to complete the install on time before I moved in. The best part about the team is that they are willing to correct any mistakes (e.g. we ended up having to switch to a different wood color to match the existing wood in the house), and they stand behind their work. I challenge you to find another installer who will achieve the level of customer satisfaction that Into The Woods Flooring provides. Shamus even came out after the install to clean the floor himself! I had a small project to install vinyl plank flooring in my water-damaged basement. They are a pleasure to work with. Candi who coordinated the entire project is very friendly, professional, and responsive. The gentleman who came out to do the estimate and the 2 man crew who did the installation were punctual and friendly. I could tell that they love what they do for a living. I'll admit, they weren't the lowest bid, and if I had a much larger project I would have negotiated for a lower price, but since the project was so small, the savings would have been minimal. Extremely pleased with this company! Very responsive and professional from initial contact to job completion. Their prices were substantially better than the large home improvement stores. We replaced the carpeting in our home with LVP - it is beautiful, waterproof and durable - just what we need with two large dogs.
