We had a unique situation where we couldn't get our dishwasher out. Our hardwood floors were installed by a different contractor and they didn't double check the height. We needed help cutting out part of our floors, installing a new dishwasher and then adding new hardwoods near the dishwasher. Thai did all of this for us and did an incredible job. He was so easy to work with, so kind and gave us very fair pricing. Thank you Thai! read more

We bought a new house and needed our floors refinished before we moved in. I found Thai highly rated here. He lived up to it. Came for the estimate very promptly. Gave me a reasonable estimate. Did an amazing job. Charged me exactly the estimate. The floors sparkle! Great experience! read more

I highly recommend American Hardwood Floor Services. Thai came out and gave me a very competitive quote and said the team could start the very next day. Six days after I first spoke to Thai, my floors were done and they look fantastic! Thai even recommended a different stain than the one I suggested. After seeing the two side by side, I agreed. This is one project where I feel like I got a great deal! read more

Thay and team at American Hardwood Floors were a God send to my family! The level of communication, attention to detail and service has been the best part of my home remodel. I contacted American Hardwood Floors on Thursday afternoon for a quote, and Thay (the owner) came in the evening gave me a quote that was extremely fair and over 1500 square feet of my floors were sanded, refinished and done by Monday afternoon! After explaining what I wanted done to my home, Thay stated he did the same to his home and that he lived nearby and invited my wife and I to his home to see his work. I cannot explain how much I appreciated this and that he was willing to demonstrate his work by doing so. After hiring another vendor that tried to screw me in the middle of work by doubling their price, Thay came in and saved my budget with top notch, quality work. My floors are now immaculate and my wife and I could not be any more satisfied and appreciative. Do not hesitate to hire this company and team. They will exceed your expectations. He has a customer in me for life. read more

Fantastic service and communication!! The team did a wonderful job on our hardwood floors after we moved into a new house!

Thai and crew showed up as scheduled and did an excellent job refinishing our wood floors. Thai is very knowledgeable about wood flooring and doesn't waste time or your money! The only issue I had [and it is not a criticism of him] is that there is a fine dust everywhere. I've had wood floors refinished multiple times over the years, AND THERE IS ALWAYS DUST. The amount of dust left by Thai and crew was the least I ever had. It was very fine and came up easily with Swiffer dusters and a vacuum. I would highly recommend Thai and American Hardwood Floor Services. read more

Thai and his team were wonderful to work with. He is prompt, enthusiastic and very very knowledgeable about his trade. Thai was able to finish my floors without removing and replacing the shoe moulding. All the other companies I got quotes from said they would need to remove the molding in order to get to the edges. Thai was very accommodating and answered all my questions patiently. I highly, highly recommend Thai and American Hardwoods read more

I reached out to 4 different floor refinishing companies and decided on American Hardwood Floor Services because Thai was so helpful, and knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I don't know if anyone knows hardwood as well as he does! Our floors were a very dark brown color and were dinged up and scratched and dull. Our house is very old so floors were in rough shape. Thai made them look brand new again. It was important for us to keep as much of the original flooring of the house as possible and I LOVE how they turned out. They worked so hard and so meticulously, and our new floors are beautiful! HIGHLY recommend them. In fact I've already recommended their services to my friends and family who need flooring work done as well. read more

I strongly recommend American Hardwood Floor services. I hired them for a difficult hardwood repair job. They were prompt, thorough, efficient, and courteous. Thai gave me a no-nonsense quote and after seeing the scope of work and final result, I felt I received an excellent value for money. I especially appreciated Thai's hustle and creativity in getting the job done in 3 days with minimal dust and odor AND without displacing us from the house which saved time, money, and hassle. The repaired floors look better than the original installation. read more

Thai & crew fixed the subfloor, installed white oak flooring, new stair risers & baseboards for me - it is extremely lovely! Cannot be more pleased with the new flooring, communication / responsiveness, & attention to detail. Thai is extremely knowledgeable was able to help us get to the floors we ultimately wanted. They were also able to work around my schedule which had some hiccups and get the work completed when it was needed. Fairly priced & highly recommended. Thanks so much! read more

I had a great experience and felt compelled to write this review. Our family was looking to replace our carpet on the entire house with hardwood floors and have been shopping around. We received a few quotes from flooring companies and decided to go with American Hardwood Floor Services on a recommendation from a positive yelp review. Thai is VERY knowledgeable on the hardwood floor and answered all my questions -- he is professional, prompt and courteous and took time to explain the process from start to finish. The crew was punctual, reliable and respectful, showed up on time the day of the installation and rendered all the services. The entire process went without a hiccup. The Estimated time from start to finish is 5-7 days and they were able to finish the installation job in 5 days. I am so impressed and highly recommend this company!!! read more

Man, when I tell you that this business showed off, they showed OFF! I needed my sunroom and kitchen floors done badly...badly yall. We had a terrible leak, from the sky light that got damaged. The leak ended up messing up the subflooring and carpet. So, we (husband and I,) called ourselves trying to fix it. We pulled the carpet up, and stuck sticky tiles on the damaged subfloor. We did it to buy us some time, but it wasn't worth it....especially since the dogs had made the sunroom their comfort zone. To top it off, one of our dogs is old, and would have an accident. So, her pee, seeped through the subfloor as well. The smell got to be too much. The kitchen floor, needed to be refinished. It was dull, uneven in color and lacked shine. My husband I, tried to scrub the years of wax buildup off, but ended up damaging the wood. I had decided that it was time, to get the sunroom taken care of. I couldn't take it anymore. I searched different businesses, but one caught my eye. I looked at the pictures here on Yelp, and I was sold on this business. I contacted the business, and Thai, got back with me almost immediately. I gave him a call, and he came by the same day. When Thai came by, he was very professional and passionate about his work. He told my husband and I the cost for the sunroom. I was convinced, by my husband, that we should do the kitchen floor too. So, that's what we did. When it was time to work, Thai and his brother was on time, honest, professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and knew their shiznit. They started on a Monday, and was finished by Wednesday (we couldn't walk on the floors until Thursday, becausethe wood needed to dry.) When I tell you they paid attention to detail, I mean it. They made sure the process wasn't rushed. They took their time to make sure the work was done right. You know they did a wonderful job, when it looks so amazing, that you start thinking about more upgrades to do for your home. I absolutely recommend this business. What you pay is beyond what you get. I absolutely love my new flooring! I can't thank this business enough. Thank you Thai, for your amazing work. I am a forever customer. read more

Owner Ty communicated well from beginning to end of the project. Our floors look beautiful. I like that it's a family run business. The crews showed up before they said they would be there and didn't waste time. They tore out our old carpet and hauled it away, then sanded all the old hardwood floors and brought them back to life. They don't take any payments until the job is done and you are happy. read more

Idlewood is a horrible company. The admin person that answers the phone should be fired. There customer service is non-existent. Getting someone to call you back to correct an issue is like pulling teeth. Everyone is always busy and they never call you back. They always leave before 2pm and the only person at the office is the horrible admin. read more

Don't let Thai into your home, or you will be sorry. Thai will say anything to get the job, like, "You don't pay me until I do the job and make you happy. Then he will threaten to suit him if you don't pay him even if he doesn't finish the job. Thai and his crew improperly installed my hardwood floors. He only put a coat of stain and finish on over 6,000 sq ft of hardwood flooring. Thai said he used a two-in-one product on the floors and refused to come back and seal the floors. One week after installation, there are cracks between all my hardwoods the size of a quarter or more. I now have to spend over $100,000 pulling up the poorly installed floors and replacing them. I had a flooring inspector to come out and look at the floors. He confirmed with a doppler that Thai had only put a stain and finish on the floors, resulting in warping and cracking of all the flooring. On top of this, one of his employees stole my diamond wedding ring, a sapphire ring, two diamond bracelets, a solid gold bangle, a pair of emerald and diamond earrings, a vintage Movado watch that belonged to my late grandfather, and a Rolex watch totaling over $300,000. When I confronted Thai, he said, "Call the police"! His crew also damaged my window treatments, fireplace, kitchen cabinet, walls, and furniture. On top of all of this Thai refused to compensate me for my damaged and stolen property. I don't know how Thai got five-star reviews, but stay away from him, or you will regret it. That said to my husband, sue him if he wanted to, and he didn't care. Thai also said we would have to take him to court to resolve this matter and report the theft to the police if I have any hopes of getting my jewelry back. read more

We had Thai Nguyen and his crew from American Hardwood Floor Services sand and refinish our hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, and front hallway. This was a job that was long overdue and the floors, especially in the kitchen were in bad shape. We chose Thai and his company because of the great reviews we read online and we were not disappointed. Thai came out to look at our floors and give us an estimate. He was courteous and seemed very knowledgeable and passionate about his trade. We settled on the work to be done,an agreeable price (including some possible additional cost for floor repair), and a start date for the following week. Thai and his crew showed up when they said they would; they performed the agreed upon tasks in the time frame quoted without any additional charge for the minor repair; and they did great work. They sanded and stained the floors on the first day, applied a first coat of polyurethane on the second day, and then came back two days later to apply the final, heavier coat of polyurethane. We stayed in the house while the work was being done, with plastic sheets covering the doorways. Thai explained to us when we could walk on the floors and when we couldn't, to ensure proper sealing. Our floors are now beautiful! We are very pleased with the results and would happily recommend this company to any of our family, friends, or neighbors who need those services read more

We have been in our house for eight years and had been planning to have the carpet removed from our stairs. We wanted to make our stairs hardwood. It was also time to have our existing downstairs hardwood floors refinished. Thai made a pre-visit to inspect and provide a quote. The quote was competitive and included a satisfaction guarantee. We also agreed on 50% payment up front with the remainder due upon completion. The work was done while my family was on a Monday to Friday vacation. We had Nest cameras throughout the house and monitored the work progress. The work was completed on time and we were more than satisfied. I highly recommend Thai and his team! read more

I needed new wood floors (or so I thought). I had damage to the stair treads and damage to floor boards in several areas (due to dogs). I thought about covering with vinyl flooring. Thai took one look and said he could make the repairs and refinish the floors. He said everything would look brand new and that covering the wood with vinyl would be a mistake. Thai and team made the repairs and refinished the floors at fraction of what it would have cost me to replace (even if I replaced with vinyl). If someone tells you that you have to move everything out of your home to refinish, they are wrong. Thai and team did one half of the house at a time enabling us to simply move the furniture to the other side. Like Thai said, our floors look brand new! Seriously! The team was punctual and finished quickly. The house was left very clean. I am so glad I went with with American Harwood Services and would highly recommend you speak with them before you make any decisions on your flooring. read more
