Owner unresponsive, and husband unprofessional. Too much to mention here. I will post a link to my…read moreextensive complaint to the BBB, here, once it's been reviewed and approved by my legal counsel. I will also add pictures that correspond with my claims. update: added photos and complaint sent to BBB I chose this company because they were 1 of 2 companies that could start and finish my project right away. I also liked the owner of the company, Jayln Marcelino, and it appeared to be a small family business. She gave me a preliminary estimate via text, after viewing pics that I sent to her. However, when she came to give an official quote, it changed drastically, due to additional work that would be needed. These additional factors couldn't be seen from the photos that I provided. No problem, we agreed on a price and moved forward. I told her, upfront, that I would be home (working) during this project, and that my daughters have asthma. So, we would need to mindful of the products that are used. She was glad that I made her aware, and said she would use product with little to no invasive fumes. She also said that the project would normally take 2 days, but considering the amount of sanding needed for my railing, it would be 3 days. No problem again, and we proceed. Day one, I paid for materials, and 50% of project cost, everything went according to planned, with the exception of changes from a reg oak treads to a retro tread. Apparently, my staircase came in one piece and they were unable to easily disassemble the treads. We made the adjustment and moved forward. Day two, is where the problems began. I was told in order to remove the paint from the railing, it was necessary to use some mixture of paint remover to loosen the paint for scrapping. We opened the doors and turn on exhaust fans to minimize the odor. However, I didn't know that they would keep reapplying it over and over. When my daughter woke up, she said that smell bothered her nose, so I told them not to use anymore and work with what they had applied already. Sometime later, I noticed that they stop using the first chemical and began to use paint thinner. When I asked why are you still using chemicals when I told you that it was causing an issue for my daughter, he said, "paint thinner is not the same as what we were using before". I called the owner, Jayln, and told her that not only did they disregard what I said, but her husband had a horrible attitude about it. He did not apologize and acted as if he didn't want to be here. I told her if this is the case, she would need to send someone else, and he could leave. I have not and will not tolerate someone being disrespectful and showing no regard to the health and safety of my family. She apologized on his behalf, and said that she could pull someone off another project, to replace him. Great, no problem, let's do that and move forward. Day three, no one gets to my home until 11:00 am, and then I am told we are only going to stain your railing today and wait for it to dry. We will come back on Monday to finish. She proceeds to tell me that she only has one person working because the "other guy" didn't show up. The treads had not been cut to fit the stairs, then they would need to be installed. Along with the pickets, they also needed to install the decorative molding on the staircase. So, I am supposed to waste an entire day, and add another day to the project? No ma'am, that's not acceptable. She tells me that she needs to make a couple of phone calls to try and get someone over, and steps outside. I get a text from her about 15 mins later that says, "I will be right back, I'm going to get the wood cutting machines so we can install the treads". Ok, about how long will you take, I asked. She replies, "he is on his way now. So right before 1". Her husband arrives about 1:25, with an attitude saying that they had been waiting on my kids to wake up, and for me to leave....WHAT? I'm thinking, it's almost 2:00, half the day is gone, and you are waiting on me....where is Jayln? Last I heard from her, she was getting wood cutting machines and then you show up. After multiple calls to her, she doesn't answer and sends this response, around 2:30, "I'm sorry for everything and I'm in the emergency clinic now". She must be still in the emergency clinic, as of today, because I have not heard from her since that day. She made it very clear from day one, that she is the owner and boss. Anything that needs to be addressed, must be discussed with her, only. However, if you don't answer your phone, and/or don't return calls, that can't happen. With that, I have sought legal counsel because they didn't finish the job, and the work that was done, wasn't done correctly. I had to pay extensive cost to another company to re-do work and finish the project. I have dozens of photos and statements that prove the unprofessional, and shabby work done by this company.

They did my backsplash and very professional. I love they way they did it and very please with the…read moretime of completion.
