The pizza was absolutely delicious! The guy who took our order was super nice and seemed like he really cared about making sure everything was right with my pizza. I came in starving, and they had the food ready in under 20 minutes (I think--I'm terrible with time!). Overall, the atmosphere was great, the restaurant was clean, and the food was amazing. The only thing I noticed was that a few employees weren't wearing gloves, but honestly, it didn't bother me much. The person at the make counter was horrible, the restaurant was busy and I get that, I did food service for years. I saw the backlog and politely said I just need to order some garlic bread (our salads were already ordered), "it's gonna be a bit". I stood there for a bit, joked about the slogan on her coworkers back and said it should say something more Mod'esque"....."I don't make the shirts" and kept working. Grabs our salads and slams a make bowl under the counter with a clang, shouts out the name and says they're ready, yah I made my exit and gave up at that point. I love MOD Pizza so much, but the UP location is astonishingly awful! Service is so comically bad, I took an out of town visitor there just to show him how rude the staff is. They did not disappoint, my friend was amazed. The pizza is typically a 6 outta 10 and the rudeness of the staff is consistently a 10/10. It's so bad that it's funny, like a Seinfeld episode. Consistent food and ample seating. Always a spot for a big family to sit. Plenty of high chairs for young children. MOD is always pretty fast so you can't complain about that. It's not gourmet, or the best pizza I've had by any means... But it's better than Pizza Hut and the like. It's in our restaurant rotation, and is our go to spot with kids. The pizza and salads are always good. I sometimes get pick up, sometimes get delivery, I've never dined in. When you walk in you're blindly acknowledged but if you're doing a pick up and are waiting I've felt pretty invisible, even an 'ohey, I'll be right with you' would be good at least. They do get super busy and you can tell the staff is working hard and fatigued. I think a few more hands would be good to have as the staff can get a little dry and less friendly. I have no real complaints and I'll definitely keep coming back. From observations while I'm waiting, there does seem to be some dine-in inconsistency for timing of some people getting their orders while others are waiting. This was my first time trying Mod Pizza... I have heard amazing things about this place, so my husband decided to get take out. I had a GF crust with red sauce, feta, pineapple and Can. Bacon and he had a thin crust with red sauce, sausage, ground beef, and pep. Neither one of us were very impressed.... HOWEVER.... I have heard that this is one of those places that is best to eat at, or order and take it to go (but eat super quick so it's fresh). My husband was running late (he ordered online coming from Green River), so I think our order had been sitting a bit- hopefully why it was cold and very dry. The toppings and sauce was very minimal (not sure if things began to evaporate... I didn't think he was that late)... BUT we are willing to give Mod another try- in house of course :) I saw someone get a pizza on Sunday that looked delicious, so hopefully we will have a review update to 5 stars in a few weeks :) I do really love that they offer a variety of cheeses (even the vegan), and not only a GF crust, but also a cauliflower crust, which I plan to try next time. The GF crust they use is pretty good though... and that can make or break a pizza for me. I am hoping for a hotter, fresher, and fuller pizza next time. The guy who made my pizza was great but the female employee that was working during the time was rude and glaring at us the entire time. The past couple times I have come in I was met with the same attitude from this employee. If this was a one and only situation I would understand but this has become more consistent and makes it harder for me to go here. I always love MOD pizza. We stopped in for some lunch and ate outside. Three of us had pizzas and one had salad. Everything was great but I would say it was a little tough for our little one to eat the pizza as it is crispy and a bit harder than she is used to. Ok do I have to start by saying that I low expectations on this place. Not so much because if what I heard, but because I'm from New York and we expect certain things for pizza. I have pretty much given up on anything resembling to it out here. But since I'm back on a diet, I was told that this place has a good cauliflower crust pizza. I did like how they prepare it in an open oven so as to give it an almost east coast touch. The flavors were good and the crust thin so I was pleased. The girls that were working there were very friendly and helpful. It helps that they were not cheap with the toppings either ( you know just putting on the bare minimum type ) So for parents looking to eat healthy and not get rid of your pizza, this is great.. just don't tell the kids that it's a different crust.lol About the place.. as you walk in they have a line so that you can have your pizza prepared the way you want. Like an assembly line style. The place was really clean and we'll kept. Plenty of seating and open space. The parking is street parking but they also have a parking garage across the street. The only negative I will say is that it looked like they were training a new girl and not really letting her try to do anything except hand people things. Whenever I am visiting university place and I am craving pizza, I come here. My go to pizza is a Tristan with cauliflower crust and extra ricotta cheese. The quality of pizza is constant and I love how I can ask for sauces on the side especially the balsamic fig goes well with the pizza. An employee, Danny, was super nice to my 9-year old son who loves to talk to everyone. The customer service is wonderful for this type of establishment.
