The atmosphere is warm and lively, the location is perfect, and the entire staff made the experience feel elevated without being pretentious. We had a 5:15 dinner reservation and the restaurant was already packed, which honestly says a lot. The staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about both the wine list and menu, and every recommendation felt thoughtfully curated. The food was phenomenal. We have the chef special which was a chicken skin dish and the short rib pasta with the added burrata; flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. Definitely one of those places that feels just as good for a casual night out as it does for celebrating something special. This spot is off A street and is located within the big grey building that is the post office. You'll enter where there's stairs on both sides of a grey wall/stone structure. And once you're in, take a right and and the restaurant will be straight ahead. And of course parking, downtown is mostly street parking. And you have to pay during certain hours, so look at the signs to enure you don't get a ticket because the police are pretty well known to not give any grace. Made a reservation online to celebrate a birthday. (And just FYI with the small print, if you cancel less than a day before or a no show, you are subject to a $20 fee PER person). Alright, so this spot has no air conditioning even though its pretty small in there, so I'd recommend sitting outside. Or else, the inside can become a sauna especially in the summer. Had initially requested to sit inside, totally forgetting about the no A/C and my friend who has never been here requested to sit outside. But the server became short with us and was less than pleasant but had intially agreed to take us outside. So it was a confusing situation. And I was embarrassed to bring my friend here because they were talked at and not to and was suggested to sit at a dirty table at that. Food was mid and wasn't as good as it used to be. There wasn't much flavor in either dish.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this local business!…read more I first found them a few years ago while doing my yearly winter craft bazaar shopping at local community locations. Each year, I would wait patiently to stock up on my favourtie spices from this company. It was also a chance to see the lovely couple who is so friendly and generous that sells their spices! The wife would be at one bazaar and her husband would be at another location... so cute! Their spices are dried and packed with punch! My favourites are: garlic sesame; creamy galic; wasabi - packed with lots of garlic is how I like it! It is great for making easy party dips and lovely to put on meats or sauces for baking. A very nice gift idea too for those friends who love to cook =D Interestly, while visiting Puyallup Farmers Market this past weekend, I came upon their booth! It wasn't sold by the lovely couple I know, so I am not sure if its a family business or not. The man was vague in sharing details... but their packaging is local and I know I'll see them again at the local winter bazaars. Give them a try! Currently, you can purchase their spices through ordering via facebook or email... or do like I do, and wait for the winter bazaars! www.facebook.com/pages/For-the-Love-of-Pasta

Excellent! We loved…read moreeverything about our dining experience. We dined mid-week and the restaurant was bustling. We were quickly seated for our reservation, and our server was friendly & attentive. We started off with a delectable appetizer special of burrata with heirloom tomatoes, pesto and olive tapenade. The tangy tapenade really complimented the creamy burrata. We were also served the softest french bread, which sopped up the pesto so nicely. We were lucky enough to get a bite of all 4 dinner entrees on the table. I ordered one of the daily specials, the Saltimbocca. The chicken/prosciutto combo was so flavorful in the white wine sauce. The portion was plentiful, I could have taken a doggy bag, but devoured it bite by bite. I was thankful to have made this choice - score! Hubs ordered the Diavola pizza, with crisp pepperoni and pickled serranos. Either the serranos or red pepper sauce gave it quite the kick, not overly, but deliciously. It was perfectly crispy! Family ordered Carbonara and the lamb ragu. Both great portions, very flavorful! Our dinners came with a salad, which was a perfectly lightly dressed compliment to the appetizer and mains. We drove quite awhile in 5:00 traffic to get here, but it was well worth it. We savoured every bite!

Catering Review : We were planning an intimate wedding with…read moreonly 36 guests, and honestly, finding a caterer was one of the more discouraging parts of the planning process. Many local caterers had very high minimums, which I completely understand since spring and summer weddings are their busiest season. What frustrated me wasn't necessarily the cost--it was the lack of follow-up, dismissive conversations, and unanswered inquiries. That all changed when I contacted Mama Stortini's. Almost immediately, I received a response from Maguire, who expressed genuine interest in hosting our event. Over the next several days, he worked closely with me, answering questions and helping me bring my vision to life. Maguire is top-notch. He was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. Most importantly, he made me feel valued as a customer, regardless of the size of my event. Once we booked, I was introduced to Brittany Blakeney. What a wonderful person! Brittany was positive, genuine, and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. She assured me that everything would go smoothly and that I would have nothing to worry about on my wedding day--and she was absolutely right. She detailed our event so thoroughly that by the time we had our final planning call, I hardly had any questions left to ask. When our wedding day finally arrived, the catering team was on time, prepared, and ready to go. The setup was beautiful, the food display was impressive, and the food itself was absolutely delicious. I am disappointed that I forgot the names of the two young gentlemen who served our guests because they were amazing. Although I didn't have much time to interact with them during the event, every interaction I did have was impressive. They were professional, courteous, friendly, and attentive. Whoever hired them made an excellent choice. We received so many compliments from our guests about both the food and the service. Mama Stortini's played a huge role in making our wedding day special, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. Thank you to Maguire, Brittany, and the entire catering team for helping make our wedding day so memorable.

This is a review for the catering service. Think twice…read morebefore hiring this catering company. We spent thousands of dollars expecting a classy, well-organized wedding reception. Instead, poor communication, lack of preparation, and repeated failures by the catering leadership created unnecessary stress and negatively affected our memories of our wedding day. 1. Signature drinks were completely different from what we approved. We chose a Paloma and blackberry sangria after tasting them at the restaurant, where they were delicious. At our wedding, they were so different that multiple guests independently commented on how bad they were, with several calling them disgusting. It was embarrassing to serve drinks we had specifically chosen for our guests. We were told they followed the restaurant's recipe, despite the obvious difference. We received a refund for one drink. 2. The team was completely unprepared. We carefully reviewed the wedding timeline and expectations beforehand, yet they were not ready to serve dinner at the agreed-upon time or distribute drinks when the event began, were not prepared for cutting the cake, we're not prepared to hand out wine during dinner. It was one thing after another. They also knew we were providing a full bar. The venue instructed us to place the alcohol in the bridal suite, but the catering team apparently had not prepared for this. They closed the bar during the reception while retrieving the alcohol and then yelled at guests to tell them the bar was closed until everything was organized. This was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. When we raised the timeline issues afterward, we were told their contract did not require them to follow the timeline we had discussed and that their responsibility was simply food and drinks. This is an important warning: do not assume anything discussed during planning will actually be honored. 3. The cake service was extremely unprofessional. We had specifically discussed cutting our Costco cake in a back room and bringing out the decorated pieces because we had put considerable effort into making each piece special. Instead, a catering employee was seen running across the reception with the Costco cake pans and cutting the cake in front of our guests directly in the pans. Multiple guests commented on how unprofessional this looked. 4. Paid wine service was not provided properly. We paid extra for wine service, yet wine--and even water--was not being served during dinner. We had to point this out to the staff, and by then dinner was essentially over. Members of our bridal party ended up monitoring the catering team and the timeline instead of enjoying the wedding. Afterward, I sent a detailed email documenting our concerns. Rather than proactively acknowledging their failures, we had to request refunds ourselves. We ultimately received refunds for the wine glasses, wine service, and one signature drink. We wanted the wedding we planned and paid for. Instead, we paid thousands of dollars and had to troubleshoot the caterer's mistakes during our own wedding. I DO NOT recommend this catering company. The service was expensive, communication was poor, preparation was inadequate, and the execution was unprofessional. Most importantly, their failures created unnecessary stress and left us with negative memories from our special day. It's been almost a year since the event and I've been so upset this entire time about how everything happened that it's only now I'm leaving reviews. Beware!

Finally got the opportunity to enjoy one of their lunch specials & fix for a sweet tooth. I ordered the Weekday Special, which had so many options it was hard to decide, but I ended up choosing the Meatball Grinder. The Weekday Special comes with a side salad and a choice of dressings. The Meatball Grinder is savory, filling & delicious! Really loved the soft bread and the red sauce. It's a two meal kind of sandwich (for me). The chocolate chip cookies hit the sweet tooth craving just right. Although not homemade (at least I don't think they are) still yummy.

The kids absolutely loved watching all of the trains pass by (and they come by often) which was a huge highlight and easy distraction while waiting for food. They let us choose our own table so we chose a table next to the window where the kids could easily see all the trains. The kids got to do the DIY pizza deal again ($9.99 per kid) and they all had so much fun. We switched up our order from last year and got the South Sounder (a buffalo chicken pizza) and the Trackside Chop with all the fixings and their vinaigrette. We loved both! The salad was so light and refreshing and we loved the dressing. The pizza was the perfect counterpart with the spicy/tangy balance from the buffalo chicken, and was loaded with tons of cheese. Bless our waitress, she was so sweet. We had all three kids with us who were, for lack of a better word, terrors. We cleaned up our best after them and she was so patient with us and assured us we didn't need to do any cleanup (though we did!!) Can't recommend Trackside enough for a casual family night out if you're nearby. Definitely worth it!

The thinly sliced cheese on top had an overpowering smell and taste that resembled bleach/ammonia mixed with a strong foot-like odor. I enjoy strong cheeses and am not someone who is picky about food, but this went far beyond "bold flavor." The taste was even worse than the smell and completely overwhelmed the scallops to the point that the dish was genuinely inedible for me. I could not finish it. I understand some cheeses are intentionally pungent, but pairing something that intense with delicate seafood was a terrible combination. Very disappointing experience overall.
