Great afternoon pizza stop after finishing our running around this morning. Standards are still the same from Georgia to Texas. Love the different options of Pizza's you can choose from and you can see it all made right in front of you. Service was excellent and pizza was served hot and fresh. We got there an hours after they opened so we beat the afternoon rush I am pretty sure. If is in a building with some other restaurants and they all share tables out back so if can be dog friendly if you bring the pooch with you. Prices were great and excellent choice of soda. Wow, what an impressive experience at MOD Pizza. I didn't realize "artisan pizza" now means toppings baked onto what tastes like slightly seasoned cardboard. Truly innovative. Stopped in the day before Thanksgiving as I was in Temple for a specialist doctor at Scott and White in Temple and Mod's is conveniently located in the shopping/food strip just across the street. Everyone was genuinely so lovely and went out of their way to change gloves, use a fresh cutter, etc. to accommodate my need for a gluten free pizza and I appreciated their understanding for that! I've previously been to a Mod's here in Austin where that was not the case and the employee essentially tried to guilt me for needing extra care with my food, but I have never had that issue here at the Temple location. Thank you for understanding food allergies/dietary needs! Anyway, my pizza was delicious and made exactly how I wanted. I'm a topping-heavy person and I love being able to add all my favorite things here for a single price and make a pizza that hits every single point for me instead of just a basic cheese or being limited by a set menu. They were thorough and patient and Mod's also had a pretty decent rewards system (although I don't believe the free pizza can be redeemed for a gluten free pizza and we usually use it for my sister's non-gluten free pizza instead). I don't order pizza super often, so it can take a while for us to earn enough points since it's 150 for a free pizza or salad, but they do have 50- and 100-point options as well. Parking is pretty open and there is a small play structure in the back of the facility (shared by the complex) for kiddos that I frequently see families enjoying. Outdoor seating is a bit limited, but available with shading, and there is plenty of seating inside as well (booths and tables). Ordering is a bit of an assembly line, so you can really customize everything you want, and they do have a few set menu items as well (that you can also customize). If you've not been to Mod's, I highly recommend it! As with any shared kitchen, it's never going to be 100% contamination free, but they really do their best and I don't typically have issues with the food. Another must-try is their blackberry lemonade, which is so good, and I always order my pizza with a side of Mike's Hot Honey. Only detraction for this experience was that they were trying to get rid of ingredients before being closed for the holidays, which is completely understandable to avoid food waste, but it resulted in my pizza not being the freshest and I ultimately had to remove a few spinach and arugula piece that had gone bad. I want to highlight that this is not the usual experience and I have never otherwise had spoiled produce on my pizza here. Unfortunate, but at least they're trying to avoid food waste! read more

I've ordered from multiple MOD pizza locations in California, but I was unprepared for the lack of toppings here in Texas (apparently not everything in Texas is bigger). The pizza literally had no more than 2 pieces of each topping on each piece. It was effectively a cheese pizza with a drizzle of toppings. The wife's pizza was the same. Had a lunch date here and I love that you get to make your own pizza. Everyone gets what they like. Lots of options and different types of crust. So many toppings and you can even put a sauce on it when it's finished. I will try that next time. I LOVE ranch. Parking is interesting but plenty of parking in the back. The only thing that I'm not sure about is price. Our bill was $40 for 2 pizzas and a kids pizza and 3 drinks. This will not be my go to place but a nice treat! Overpriced and cheaply made I ordered a $10 salad. My kids each got a kid pizza. My husband ordered a regular pizza. My salad was worth maybe $2. The lettuce was decaying, and there were no croutons. You know whats in a Ceasars salad? Lettuce, cheese, dressing, croutons. If you are missing one of those ingredients, its no longer that salad. Then the lady started making me cheesy bread to go with the salad, I didn't expect that. But the lady in front charged me for it. Wtf??? I didn't ask for it, it should have been free. We kinda love them. We like them a lot for sure; even if they never spelled my name right for once! What do we like? The cool preset ingredients, and that we can create our own. For an individual size it costs half more than what I could pay for a bigger size pizza in Napoli. But without comparison, MOD's pizzas taste yummy; plus their crust is thin and cripsy. When are they ever unbusy? The pizza makers move their line pretty quick. Dining area is always full when we walk in. There's a tactic to get a table... You guys know what table stalking is? Haaah! My first experience was flawless!. I ordered a mini pizza for myself and it was big enough that I saved 2 of the 4 slices for the next day! I love all of the topping options like balsamic glaze! pesto! White sauce! Artichokes! Serrano peppers! And so many more! The minis are thin crust (my fav)! This store is no longer great. It isn't as clean. The food..so so. The prep area wasn't neat, the counter behind the main counter had food dropped along the surface. The machine that presses the dough was broke, which they did warn us. Not their usually upbeat attitude the employees are known for. Fun pizza place where you design your own pizza but can use their recommendations. I usually start with their seasonal recommendations and then vary it up on the second visit. I rarely dine in at anyplace anymore so my observations would be second hand. I do eat a lot of food from all over Temple. I just take out. Mostly drive thru or curbside. The service is good here. This particular place in Temple has more of a Mom and Pop feel or vibe than that of a franchise. Reminds me of a local pizza joint in my hometown and other places I've been. Kind of the old school. I've been to this location many times and haven't experienced rude workers until today. I always get the gluten free crust and the lady making the pizza explained that it is really "gluten sensitive" which was nice to know. Then the girl who was putting them in the oven came over to me and said rudely, "This is not gluten free it's gluten sensitive and shares the oven" and just as I was responding that it was ok, she just walked away. She could care less what I had to say and what she said was already. It is almost like she didn't even want me to eat there. Then when I went to get a box, the lady was talking to her coworker about personal stuff and treated me like I was an interruption and just slammed the box on the counter and never even acknowledged my existence. Fast casual pizza, a beautiful marriage when combined with excellent service. This particular MOD is quite wonderful, whether you're trying to make a mad dash with an order to-go or have some time to sit at one of their tables and leisurely eat your food. Fair warning, this place sees some serious volume throughout the day, especially when it's lunchtime. With its prime location across the hospital, there are many hospital employees who swing in for noms, along with who I'm assuming a friends and families of patients. There were times the line met me right at the door. Incredibly though, the line is continuously moving. They have figured out speedy, courteous service here. The wall to the right where you start your order has a bunch of preset options. Tell them your name, where you plan on eating the pizza, and then either name drop a preset or start your own creation. You can also customize the preset pizzas, like when I ordered the Tristan and had them pile on the jalapeños. I typically order a MOD size, which is their original size sitting at 11 inches. You can also order a mini at 6 inches, or a Mega Dough, which appears to be two MODs together for a thicker crust. They also have salads and shakes, though I haven't ordered either. For those with gluten sensitivities, they do have a gluten free and cauliflower versions of their crust; however, per their website they "cannot guarantee that any of [their] menu items are free of allergens or gluten" since it's all prepared in one service line. They have a few options for sauces- traditional red, white, garlic rub, pesto, and BBQ. Want a combo deal? Go for it. They then have a few different types of cheeses as well, including mozzarella, feta, and blue cheese. Then a bunch of meats, fresh veggies, and some herbs. Then things get really fun at the end- they have ROASTED PINEAPPLE, garlic, corn, broccoli, bell pepper, and did I mention their ROASTED PINEAPPLE?!?! I was a skeptic at first too, but trust me. Give it a shot, and when you love it throw a compliment my way #shamelessselfpromotion. Finish it off with garlic butter on the crust and ask for it be cooked a little longer so it's crispier. When they bring it out of the open fire oven, you get another shot at adding more sauce in either a drizzle or swirl, depending on sauce of choice. And for days you're feeling extra saucy, get some on the pizza and more on the side because you're worth it. That and it's all covered in your cost of around $9 for a MOD- endless toppings throughout the line without a surcharge. What amazes me is how clean they manage to keep the storefront considering how many people patron there. The trashcans are never overflowing and the dishes don't pile up. When there's a spill, someone immediately swoops in to clean it up. Chat with the staff, they've all been very warm people. But their MOST impressive attribute? They haven't mixed up people's orders. They have these metal tabs that they place on the pizza and then write it on the paper that includes your name. Super simple, super effective. I've been to other similar establishments and that has been a serious issue when they get a bunch of pizzas in the oven. So next time you're in Temple and get a hunkering for pizza, pop into MOD and try those roasted pineapples! read more

So......I have been ordering the exact same pizza with the exact same toppings every other week. The first time I ordered this particular pizza it was great. Loaded with the toppings I ordered and a nice dough. About the last seven times!!!!! they "forgot" to put the arugula on the pizza. Today the again forgot the arugula, also the ordered spinach was missing, Parmesan cheese and Asiago were also absent, bacon was hard and dried out and the crust was thin, hard and tasteless. For the last 3-4 months these pizzas have gotten worse and worse. Almost like the Catch next door. Was great in the beginning, gradually got worse and tonight the lights were out. I wish MOD pizza good luck. If YOU can't be consistent, don't expect MY patronage to be. I am out! read more

This place overcharged me. Then on duty manager took forever to address my issue. Then she wanted to fully refund me and the re-ring up the order creating two charges that will take 2-3 days for one to refund, and 2-3 days to charge and clear.
