There's a lot of reasons to like MOD Pizza but the single price for unlimited toppings is what keeps me coming back. No math for yummy pizza that won't break the bank is always a good thing! The set up here is similar to Subway where you start with your pizza size and proceed down the line selecting your sauce and toppings. If customizing your pizza is overwhelming, you can order one of their pre-customized pizzas too. Jasper (mozzarella, mushrooms, sausage) and Caspian (mozzarella, gorgonzola, bbq chicken, bbq sauce, onions) are my favorites. Their artisan style pizza has a nice thin crust that bakes to perfection in the wood stone oven (~5 minutes). So even if the line seems long, once your pizza gets into the oven you know you're only minutes away to savoring your creation! When you pick up your pizza, they'll slice up your pizza and offer you some finishing sauces on top (balasmic glaze, sriracha, etc). Overall, the pizza is great! The ingredients have been fresh every time I have been there and since they are sized individually, I can have all the anchovies and peppers I want! My favorite topping is the Mama Lil's peppers. It is a bit sweet and low level spicy. The casual dining also makes it a good option for those with younger kids that still want to dine in with less fuss from wait staff. If you can, I'd recommend dining in. The pizza is so thin that when we took ours to go, it was completely cold by the time it hit the dinner table. And if you haven't met your daily calorie requirements, you can pair your pizza with hand spun milkshakes. The staff was also really nice and made me laugh in the short time we were there. Crust, sauce, and cheese were all perfect I have to say the personal pizza would have been fine for two people. I ate the rest the next day and it heated up well. I ate my no name chocolate cake later. I am a MOD veteran, having experienced for years their second location ever in Bellevue, Washington. MOD is a staple in the Pacific Northwest - the Bellevue location being almost a community hub of sorts with constant traffic, a fun environment, and tasty fresh food at reasonable prices. So, when I drove around the mall and saw the MOD sign with a "coming soon," I immediately turned in, and giggled. Alright, time to talk about the format a bit. MOD pizza let's you either entirely build your own pizza, or start with a predesigned pizza that you can MODify. (get it now?) You can have complete freedom in utilizing any of their toppings because they don't charge extra for anything you put on your pizza. They have a regular dough and a Mega-dough option (mega is $2 more and my favorite), but the bottom line is that you can get an 11" pizza and a beverage for about $10.50, $13 after tax if you went Mega-dough. The pizza is cooked in a beautiful firey oven, all of this made fresh right in front of you (including the dough) and is typically ready in 5-7 minutes, closer to 10 in a rush. Apart from drooling over the many options MOD offers in food, their beverage selection is also refreshing. Their lemonades are signature staples of the original location, and the beer is priced reasonably at $4.50ish a glass, $11.50 a pitcher with a couple of well-sourced craft beers on tap. MOD is a great place to meet new people as well as have business meetings without tapping heavily into your wallet. Staff and community are very forward-facing in terms of company values; the fact that they are 90+% corporate owned tells you that they want to own the culture of their locations, just like Starbucks does inside its doors. I used to go to the MOD in Bloomington since it was the closest one I got. Now I have one right across from my work! My favorite ones to get are the Lucy Sunshine and Caspian. Since MOD is so close to my work, I've decided to venture out and tried to customize my pizzas. I've tried multiple varieties of a vegetarian pizza. I think the pesto base is better than the tomato base. I think you need to limit the amount of toppings or else your pizza does get a bit soggy. I'm still working on fine tuning that formula. Very LGBT friendly, my spouse and I have come here several times since we moved to Illinois and I couldn't be happier to find a low carb pizza dough with vegan options. Sort of reminds me of pie five pizza but this place has many more vegan ingredients and it is just quite tasteful. The good thing about it is they don't charge you extra for the vegan options which is even better. I recommend us for any meal. The service levels here have drastically cratered over the years. The employees are unenthusiastic and sometimes hostile. I had to go back to my car to grab medications and the person at the counter asked me if I "changed my mind" about eating here. Huh? Really?? You ain't special. Another counter person dismissed me as she finished my pizza as if she hated her job. If you have so much scorn go work elsewhere. Plenty of people will want your spot, especially with Illinois' increased minimum wages. The prices stay high no matter what you order whereas at the competitor Blaze you pay less if you only get a cheese or one topping pizza. And there the food quality is better as is the beverages. Our Pizza dough was soft (but was cooked) even after it was cooked for the allotted time. I had to fold my pizza to eat it. Did not expect that one. Not sure if their dough can handle all the different toppings people choose to put on a pizza. Since I tend to like my Pizza well done. I requested my pizza to be well cooked. And I always create my own pizza) The ingredients are fresh, the employees are always friendly/helpful, and the restaurants are corner clean. It's clear to me that they have a lot of pride and attention to detail. I'd also like to give a shout out their hiring practices. Having worked in restaurants and HR, I really appreciate MOD's desire to work with individuals with criminal history in their background. A person's past shouldn't always ruin or dictate their future. A good job with opportunity to thrive is important to breaking the cycle. Both the pizza builder and the cashier/oven dude must have attended the emo school of customer service. This was my second time going to a MOD pizza, I ordered online through their app and got two, 6-topping pizzas for pickup. After I picked up my pizzas, I opened them on my way home and found the first pizza had absolutely no cheese. I was astonished but didn't feel like driving back to the shop so I tried calling them. No one answers the phone after multiple attempts... So here I am back home, sitting on my couch, looking at this cheeseless pizza. We also got a mini caesar salad. Pros: + lots of parking space + traffic lights in either direction when leaving + though the salad was a little salty, it was actually really good, and filled my wife up. I liked it, too. + the pizza was a lot better that I was expecting + the manager (I didn't realize she was the manager at first) was cleaning up the sitting area and we struck up a conversation (very kind woman). + Cons: - many of the tables weren't clean when looking for a seat. They weren't real dirty, but enough so to where we decided on a different table. - The caesar dressing was a little salty. - The salad didn't have any croutons (isn't caesar salad supposed to have some?) It's nowhere near comparable to, say, Giordano's or Lou Manalti's, but maybe a lunch alternative to Chipotle or something of that caliber. I'd go back. read more

This is a great lunch place (if you can avoid the lunch rush when it is crazy busy). I really don't consider this a true pizza place. But it is a great place to get a pizza lunch. Its basically subway/chipotle for pizza. Pick your toppings/crust/etc. and get a fresh baked pizza in a couple of minutes. Good fountain beverage choices, and my favorite ice cubes to boot, lol! This MOD is never really the greatest...but remained passable if wanted. However, last night we went in. We were the only ones in line until after we finished ordering. Then the crowd came in. We sat down and waited for our name to be called. It was longer than usual, but when they finally called our names we got our pizzas. Mine was burnt. You could even tell by the edges that it was a little too cooked. We were given our pizzas with no comment. The line was crazy so I didn't take it back up to have them remake it. I just ate the topping. When we were both done eating a gentleman came to take our plates and he noticed the burnt pieces. He said that this wasn't the best pizza they'd ever cooked. Another gentleman came over and apologized and said he meant to say something earlier but that they got busy. He offered to remake it (which I refused because we were done) but then he volunteered a free pizza next time I came in. Located right by the popular, busy Woodfield Mall area, we stopped by MOD Pizza recently to get lunch. This place is basically a "Chipotle" style pizza place where you get to go through and build your pizza up from scratch, very similar to Blaze pizza. You can either build your pizza completely from scratch or choose one of their pre-made template pizzas, and modify it accordingly. They have a ton of options, ranging from different sauces, cheeses, meats, toppings, and more! Service was very quick, we waited about 5 minutes or so for our pizza to bake in their oven. The staff was very friendly and took the time to explain how their process works. This place seems to be a reliable, solid lunch option for those in the area! read more

I meant to get the names of the young ladies who were working the afternoon (8.10.18) I ate there but I was in a rush and it slipped my mind. Everyone was very friendly and attentive to the customers in line, it is always nice to be acknowledged. All of the ingredients looked amazing and fresh and the place was very well maintained. The young lady who was cooking pizza's that day should get a raise and be promoted to head pizzaiolo as this was by far the best thin crust pizza I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of pizza in my life time. The staff was super friendly and the counter was clean! I can't stand when build your own places get sloppy and mix ingredients all over - especially for picky people like me who don't like cheese! I ordered a mod pizza to go with red sauce, sausage, pepperoni, onions and bell peppers. The wait wasn't long and off I went! The pizza was delicious and crispy. I've been twice in the past three weeks and had the same pie...that's pretty telling. Schaumburg is becoming a mecca for fast casual restaurants. So it's no surprise that MOD sidled up to Woodfield Mall. With its welcoming staff, custom pizzas, well edited beverages, and comfy casual ambiance, it's the perfect spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner with or without kiddos. Speaking of that I'd like to try MOD without my kids in tow. Serenity now. I've orders the Tristan twice and it's a tasty one, I make sure to nix the mushrooms, add green peppers and dollops of red sauce. That's the beautiful thing about MOD; it's pizza your way with whatever you want for toppings. Unlimited. I only have two gripes: 1) the small pies (mini MODs) are way overpriced, so you're almost forced into over ordering for the kids, and 2) the first time we went in there was a super salty guy behind the counter who was very vocal about his frustration with his (presumed) employees.
