I had the lunch special - Take Two & Small Drink for $11.99. What they didn't tell me before they made the dough was you can only have up to four toppings. Also, the cheesy bread is either a smaller size, or the normal order's become a lot smaller than when I ordered it a couple years ago. The pizza was tasty, the cheesy bread was...cheesy, and overall it's a decent value, though the pizza dough is rolled even thinner than I remember it. Fountain drinks are still refillable. One great thing is that you get to customize from a different set of toppings and sauces, but the pizza construction isn't the most amazing. Usually the toppings and sauce aren't spread completely evenly so that the bite has an uneven consumption. The flavorings are also a bit on the bland side so that you either need extra sauce or herbs to add some additional flavors. The crust is probably the best part of the pizza though it's a bit tougher, instead of chewy and crispy if you're not eating it fresh out of the oven. Overall, an alright choice if you're looking for fast casual pizza. read more

UPDATE TO REVIEW BELOW: Shortly after sharing my comments with the store manager, as noted below, the interaction wasn't what it should have been. Later that evening, Blaze Pizza emailed me a survey. I completed it, honestly. At the end of the survey, it didn't simply say thank you for your comments, it said something like: a customer service representative will review your comments and get back to you if necessary. I didn't expect to hear anything, but I received a response less than an hour later. They were unhappy with our experience and offered a free pizza, saying they read the review and notified management and the store. I thanked them for following up, noting that I couldn't have Gluten, so they adjusted the amount credited to add the additional cost of the Gluten-Free crust. This morning, I got a notice from Blaze that they comped our entire meal on top of everything else. While I don't ever post my reviews asking for anything, I was so impressed by their going over and above to show their concern, it made it worth letting everyone know and adjusting the stars. I still can't, in good conscience, over-inflate the number of stars. The experience wasn't good, but the service after the fact was amazing. But is a review of the restaurant and not of Blaze in general. I'm adding one star for Blaze Pizza's follow-up. I can't go any higher than three stars because of that Blaze location. I do thank the centralized customer service team for going above and beyond. The original review, unedited, follows. I heard that Blaze started to offer gluten-free crusts and non-dairy cheese. This would make them the only competitor to MOD Pizza around here. And because we ordered from MOD a few days earlier, we chose Blaze. We ordered through their website. The experience was okay. I was disappointed in their topping options, but it worked out okay. We ordered two 11-inch build-your-own and one 1/2 pizza and salad. We ordered well in advance, around 4:00 PM, and asked for a 6:30 delivery. I was surprised there was no option to track the order. Our dinner got to our home about 20 minutes late. The salad was missing, the pizzas were cold - and not lukewarm. They were actually cold. The crusts, particularly the gluten-free crust, were soggy. We called the store to let them know. Their first question was about which service we ordered it from. We ordered it on their website. Then they wanted to know who delivered it. How were we to know? It was delivered without anything showing who it came from. When I mentioned that, the person I spoke to had handed to phone to another person (the manager?) who asked me the same questions. Finally, I asked if he could look up the order. He found it. Even though I told him what was missing and everything else was there, he insisted on reading the entire order, toppings, and all, leaving the missing item for last. That was a waste of time. He continued to blame it on the delivery service even though he didn't know who it was: ultimately, he offered to refund the one missing order, but that didn't solve any of the other issues. The reason for 2 stars and not 1 star is the survey I received about an hour after the meal. I answered it honestly and got a response within the hour, offering one free pizza. Was it enough to compensate for the cold pizzas? Not really, but at least they acknowledged it was their mistake. I honestly don't know if we'll use the pizza coupon. These were among the worst experiences I've had with meal delivery. read more

I've always been a fan of Blaze and love their fast casual style. I've tried a few places in the new Woodfield Dining Pavillion as they call it (aka glorified food court) and Blaze so far is the best. This food court location brings the same consistency you expect from Blaze. Also, the employees here are so kind and patient. During opening week I saw them being incredibly helpful to a very confused senior citizen. They helped him through the menu without patronizing him and then even brought his food out to him. It was such a sweet sight to see! Staff was equally respectful to me when I ordered and my food was the usual tasty Blaze I've had in the city. It took awhile for my pizza to come out but I think legs are still being found for this location. I'll definitely pop over to this Blaze location again in the future! read more

I love blazing fast Blaze Pizza. If you're not familiar with Blaze Pizza, they are a fast-casual restaurant specializing in customizable pizza and now, other stuff, like salads and "dough-knots". A fast customizable pizza was unheard of a few years ago, but places like Mod Pizza have been popping up in the Chicagoland area in recent years. And I like it. I always go with the Build Your Own pizza, but they have some predefined pizza that you can select. For your build your own, pick your dough, sauce, ingredients/toppings, pay, wait ~5-minutes, ask for finishers like buffalo sauce or a olive oil drizzle, and enjoy! I like Blaze not only because of the speed, but also that they have an online nutrition calculator! You can definitely fit in a pizza if you're all about that IIFYM life. I usually go with classic sauce, light gorgonzola cheese, double-chicken, spinach, mushrooms, green peppers, artichoke hearts (yes, you heard it), roasted garlic, and oregano. Once the pizza comes out, I like a drizzle of buffalo sauce and arugula. One slice is 17carbs, 3fat, and 7protein, so an entire pizza is 102carbs, 18fat, and 42protein, which you can't find anywhere else, trust me. Anyways, enough nutrition nerd facts. Not only do I like Blaze, so do the picky kiddos, so that's another win for me. read more

Can't really go wrong with blaze. I have been a big fan since the first time I tried it in California. I love how they exist so close to the movie theaters. Their huge selections of toppings and the quick service makes this one of the quickest way to get your pizza cravings fulfilled. Don't expect a whole lot, it's a standard pizza, but it's quick and you can make it how you like it. The staff is always nice enough to keep up with your demands. Love how they have multiple already set up options you can choose from or you can make it your own. Great place, great location, easy going staff. I initially heard a radio advertisement about this place and was curious. I went to the Woodfield Mall location in the food court and decided to give them a try. For about $10 including tax, you get a personal size pizza with unlimited toppings. They make the pizza from scratch right in front of you. I got sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. I waited 5 minutes for the pizza to cook. The pizza was delicious! Fresh toppings and very filling. I didn't think that I could get full from a personal size pizza but I actually did. The only downside is they are stingy with the toppings! That's why I gave them 4 stars. I ask them to add more toppings, but when they do, they add 1 to 2 pieces. When I ask for more toppings, I want at least a handful. They're even stingy with the cheese. Besides that, it's good. I will definitely go again! read more

I visited Blaze on a busy Friday afternoon during lunch at the Woodfield mall. The food court is relatively new, and the 'restaurant' is set up in a more efficient way to accommodate the food court environment. I was very skeptical, but came out a huge fan of Blaze! The pizza has a thin, crispy crust, but the flavor is amazing. I chose all of my favorite toppings for about a total of $13, including a drink. Chosen toppings included mozzarella, feta, fresh basil leaves, italian sausage, kalamata and black olives, pepperoni, jalapeños, salt and paper, and white cream (like an alfredo) as the base. If you don't like thin crust pizza, do yourself a favor and order the hi-rise dough! If you have no preference and want to try a delicious, customized pizza, this is your place. Went there with spousal unit and son. We ordered Red Vine, Hot Link and Veg Out pizzas and were impressed with the service and speed of the pizza oven. OK pizza, although it's a bit skimpy on cheese and the cracker crust didn't have a lot of flavor. Deal Killer- Drinks are served in plastic cups and the food court did not appear to have separate facilities for recycling plastic. Of course, this is not the fault of Blaze, also not sure if all food court vendors use plastic cups, but plastic is an environmental disaster and I won't participate. read more

I could tell from the box it was cold. `After arriving with the pizza to celebrate a friend's birthday, We picked the pizza up contemplating warming it and to our shock our hands were covered with ash as if we were cleaning our chimney. This mall booth version of Blaze is just as good as the sit down locations, if not better. For one, the prices are reduced if you only want a cheese pizza or something with one or two toppings. Otherwise, everything else is the same - they identify your order by name and you can put as much or as little on your pizza as you want. The crust for the most part is extremely thin. After you order your pizza you get your beverages at the counter and pay for everything. Drink refills are free but you do have to go to the counter for them, as there are no self-service beverage machines in the Woodfield Mall food court.
