Carry Out Review! My family is a big fan of Giordano's stuffed crust pizza so hearing they now serve a tavern style pizza peaked my interest! My husband preordered a large half cheese, half sausage pizza for pick up at 7pm. We happened to arrive 15 minutes early and somehow our pizza was ready and felt like it had been in the hotbox for a while already. We also requested red pepper, parmesan, and some plates/utensils which weren't given to us. We made a special note to pie cut the pizza and it was squares. The pizza itself was good but certainly cold and not as fresh tasting as I'd like. They definitely have a good idea here but sadly this location's service and sense for details could use improvement. read more

One deep dish with meatball, green peppers, and extra cheese. 1) Sauce: 3.5 stars 2) meatballs: very sparse ... I forgot that I ordered them...damn! They cost extra. 3) green peppers: abundant and raw (no biggie but I didn't order a salad) 4) extra cheese: waaaaay too much. The crust felt raw because of the temperature difference. 5) speaking of crust...not worth it. Basic dough. I guess I'm happy that I will not go back to Giordano's. We went here to celebrate a special occasion and as always we were greeted and seated fast. The place is always spotlessly clean! Fatima our server was excellent and took great care of us. The deep dish pizza Saturday night was the most delicious! Please please don't change the sauce - it was THE best ever!! All the food we had was served hot and plentiful! The fried Calamari with the banana peppers and sliced fried lemons was so good as was the fresh baked cookie & ice cream. This location makes THE BEST pizzas out of all the locations we've been to and we drive farther but it's so worth it! Thanks Natalie for keeping/maintaining the quality! I have not had Giordano's pizza in a long time. I ordered a stuffed pizza for pickup. The dough on the top part of the pizza was raw. They should cook the pizza without the sauce for a while in order for all of the dough to be cooked. And then finish the pizza with the red sauce. All of the spinach was in the middle of the pizza and other ingredients I ordered sparse. Just a soggy pizza. Maybe this is their brand? I remember the thin crust being good. We have not been here since the pandemic.... we had time to dine and since we were driving down Barrington Road my husband mentioned to come here for dinner. The parking lot was full, upon entering the restaurant you noticed right away how clean it is here. The restaurant was also crowded (7:30pm... ) We were seated promptly and waited on right away by the sweetest waitress Daniella. She took our drink and appetizer order and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the calamari for our appetizer and it was the best calamari have had in a long time. It was a large portion, fried to perfection... there were even thinly sliced lemons fried among the calamari rings and mini squid looking pieces! So crispy and not chewy at all! yummy My husband wanted a Caesar full size dinner salad and ended up getting the side Caesar... so if you want a bigger salad make sure you tell them the cost of the one you want... it comes in three sizes. He was a little disappointed with the size of his salad. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and it was good. I had to add a lot more of the powdered parmesan (in the canisters on the table) to get the right taste... but it ended up being very good! We used to come here for the pizza but we wanted to try something new. The only thing I will say is to read the fine print on your coupons. Received an email that said half price pizzas on Tuesday. Came in and no discount unless you show the email (Really!!). Anyway they said the coupon is only for a pizza with 2 or more toppings, didn't read the fine print (my bad). So only $7 taken off a $250 bill. Service was okay, she was polite and accommodating. Don't let your teen work here if they also go to school. 16 year old daughter and her friend were both terminated because they wouldn't ditch school to attend a training and took time off to work their high school musical. I didn't realize a Girodano's phone clerk learning Toast Tab supercedes an education? I sent email to corporate. It's a pretty shady business when managers offer underage employees their vape. Our order was delivered to the wrong address. The manager was very rude. They use their own drivers and not door dash's, so no tracking (or insurance) was available. Door dash will not refund and the restaurant will not refund, so have to file dispute with credit card. I had a good samaritan find our food and call us. We went to meet them 90 minutes after delivery. Once we opened the pizza box, two gnats came out of our pizza. The manager kept saying they had a picture of it being delivered , and that was all they had to prove. For 1 pizza and 2 sides it was $90. Not impressed. read more

I brought my rhen fiancé, a long time Chicagoan, with me and even she was thoroughly impressed with the pizza and said it was better than she remembered. Nice place to take your family and friends. Ordered a 12" thin crust pizza and chicken broccoli fettuccine alfredo that came with garlic bread. We were both full and had leftovers to take home. I like that the Canadian bacon was under the cheese. They were generous with the toppings and even the cheese had a nice thick layer. The chicken in the Alfredo wasn't dry at all, and there was plenty of it as if I asked for extra. I just had the worst pasta ever! My family and I had been-coming here fir over 15 years at least twice a month, specially the pizza but also the pasta but during the last couple of years quality is going down the drain. Today my wife and I went there fir lunch after a busy day I was dying for pasta so we went to out local Giordano's. First we asked for the sampler plate which by the way the chicken nuggets-were extremely overcooked and tasted like burned oil ! The garlic bread and fried cheese was ok! Not good. Just okay. When we get the pasta it tasted like cardboard and had 0 salt! 0! So I called the waitress and explained to her that the pasta had no salt at all nothing nada, her answer was let me tell the manager , about 20 minutes later she comes back and explained to me what the manager said. He divided not to use any salt on the pasta because customer were complained to much about the food to salty. Is this guy a moron or what? He's not even qualify to work at jiffy lube. Ok where do I even begin?! I was looking for place to host a lunch for my daughters baptism. I called around a few nearby and landed on Giordanos. From the very first phone call they were super nice. I needed room for about 30 people and they were able to reserve the bar side of the restaurant to ensure our group was together. I visited the place just to take a look at the layout, spoke with one of the managers and talked about the menu. He shared because they didn't have party packages we could order from catering menu and they'd serve it there. When I called in to order the food ahead of time, spoke with a different manager who was just as nice. She helped me to ensure the order correct and that we'd have enough, she also ensured the food would come out all once and would be served once everyone arrived so I wasn't cold. Fast forward to the day of: everything was as smooth as I pictured. Both the manager on duty and the server we had were amazing. Ensuring everyone had drinks, utensils, everything we needed. They kept the food replenished as we ordered more because we ran out (our family eats a lot lol) overall great experience! Will definitely be returning! read more

This is my first time in Chicago (not just making a connecting flight at the airport). One of the battles I've been assigned to carry out, by friends, was to decide for myself, which is a better Chicago deep dish pizza... Giordano's or Lou Malnati's? This evening, I was able to get to a Giordano's after conducting the day's business. All the standard stuff went nicely. Parking: great, I didn't go during a dinner rush so seating was easily accessible. We got there right before the evening traffic began to build up. The place was nice and clean from the dining area to the bathroom. The old style bar adorning the back end of the venue was classic and added to the ambience. The authentic feel of a sit down pizza joint that serves the "good stuff" was definitely felt. The uniforms worn are representative of the pride and history of this storied franchise. The restaurant decor dittoed such. Our hostess and attendant waiting on us (the same person) brought a great attitude and a wonderful, cheery smile to our table. Even at higher end establishments, the smile is missing. Not the case here. Her efficiency along with presentation of the dishes and drinks were fantastic. She built up aforementioned challenge at hand as we discussed it with her when she greeted us. She played it up nicely knowing it was my first piece of Chicago deep dish pizza visiting The Windy City. The flavor was everything I hoped it would be and the bubbly glass of Pepsi was the refreshing touch following each bite fulfilling my expectation. I'd return, specifically to this location again. It was a great experience. I'll always remember where I had my first slice of deep dish pizza when I went to Chicago and the young lady that presented it, Ashley. I have yet to try Lou Malnati's. As per usual with restaurants, hostess sat us in the lap of another table, but most booths were empty. Asked for a booth and was told no wait staff was available for booth areas...10 mins later the next 3 parties get a booth and are being served by the same wait staff that wasn't available ..oh, who is also serving us ...smh.. finally got the 45 min deep dish. I would recommend Giordano's to a friend or colleague, but not the Streamwood, IL location. I went there today around 11:45am. The store manager Natalie was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. I now live in the eastern time zone. I placed an order to pick up for an hour ahead by accident. When I got there the host could not find my order and got the manager. I noticed I entered the wrong pickup time, but I offered to come back, and I asked if it was possible could be make at that time since was there since people do walk-in orders all the time. The manager kept saying she could not find my order. Then all of a sudden, she said she found it. We reviewed my order and one of the pizza's was supposed to have pepperoni. I asked her if I could add it and she said she has to go by the order. There was no one eating in the restaurant. A couple of people came to pick up pre-ordered pizzas. No lunch rush. They could have fulfilled my order sooner or cancelled and let me place a new order. She was not trying to be helpful. She was snippy and had a bad attitude. I did not like the nastiness and asked that she cancel the order entirely. She said she can. When I asked for a receipt to show cancellation, she said she could not give me one. I told her I need something to show my order was cancelled. She got nasty and told me to walk into the manager's office with her to watch her cancel it. This whole time I was on the phone with my sister who overheard the disgusting behavior of that "manager". She was making rude remarks and speaking to me as if I am an idiot. Then all of a sudden, she was able to print a receipt to show it was cancelled. I took my receipt and walked out. I said a curse word to her because I did not appreciate how she was treating me and the experience. As I was walking out she told me not to come back ever again. I told her she cannot dictate that, and I will come back if I choose to. She said no I will not. This was all as I was leaving the establishment. This is not the first time I have experienced negative behavior from Natalie. I am convinced this is racially related. I have frequented this establishment since my teenage years, and it has gone downhill tremendously. If you support behavior like Natalie's, I cannot support you. read more

So if you're reading the reviews of this business, you can probably see that I left one a little over a month ago when I had issues with quality. After leaving that review, I immediately got a call from the restaurant apologizing and offering me a $25 credit. Fast forward to tonight, I decided to order using tha5 credit, but when I called the young lady said they had no record of it. So my question is if they can't keep track of that, how can they possibly address their quality issues? Sadly, I've been a Giordano's customer/cheerleader since the early 1990s, today that ended. Today I dine in it's been a while since I been here. Last time I was here the manager lady was our server and she must been short handed so she treated everyone with attitude. This time we got seated and the table cloth was drawn on with blue crayon. So I wonder do they even clean the tables. I grabbed some water on a piece of napkin and wiped it down and it came off no issues. The pizza was great but the service sucked again. There were three waitresses and the lady manager. They were no were to be seen and there were a total of three tables waiting for something. Sauce was flavorful, Sausage patty was substantial and very tasty, cheese layer was stringy and thick as hell, and best of all the crust was flaky, not too thick, and not oily or greasy. Pricing is moderate. Lou Malnati's was delicious as well, but the crust was very buttery and left my hands with a layer of grease. The pizza at Lou's was the least expensive of the 3. Ginos' fillings were decent, but the crust lost it for us as it was extremely doughy and thick, not flaky in the least. read more
