Pizza was good, but the girl that gave us our pizza almost acted like we were putting her out, to give us our pizza, give us a box and some ranch. Also, she wiped the sweat off with her hand and continued to finish the pizzas. She didnt even have any eye contact with us and when we asked about a box, she just pointed over to where the boxes were. She really needs to be taught customer service. Before we had gotten our pizza. A lady walked up and asked about her pizza, the same girls said, "oh, we accidentally gave it away and have to remake it" . Staff at this Mod Pizza at dinner time on Thursday 6/23/2022 was the most efficient, most collegial, most naturally intuitively right on the money. They created the most festive vibe without putting on. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming nature of the hipster staff. I was a first-time customer and am vegan. They patiently taught me the ropes and even changed out gloves before building my pie, to avoid meat contamination. My wife and I love mod pizza, so it's with some regret that I write this review. However, in the past two months the utter incompetence we've experienced has been tremendous. Simply put: the restaurant needs to stop taking DoorDash orders. They are absolutely ill-equipped to handle the influx of orders they receive on a nightly basis. The four or five times we've ordered DoorDash from them, it has taken close to an hour and a half. Each time we order and it takes that long, we call our DoorDash delivery person and they say something like "I'm in the restaurant and they're just super backed up". After getting fed up with the delivery time, we've decided to go into the restaurant in person to order. With less than 10 people eating in-store and around 8-11 staff working, it took over thirty minutes to get our pizza at this "quick service" place. Why? DoorDash. We were literally the only people in line, walked right up to the counter and nobody helped us for at least seven minutes because they were busy preparing DoorDash orders. Tonight was the final straw as we places a DoorDash order for delivery (on accident, we meant to place for pickup), and our order was totally botched. No pepperoni on a pepperoni pizza, cheese unevenly distributed and the drizzle of ranch only covering 40% of the pie. We call the manager who says she'll remake it for us right away for free if we just come in. I drive 10 minutes to the store and let them know who I am. They then BEGIN to make the pizza. I am currently in my car waiting for a remake of a pizza that was messed up and ordered almost two hours ago. Never again. read more

We were just passing thru, from Crater Lake to home in Morgan Hill Ca. We left Medford later than planned so I ordered with the app for pickup. I ordered when we were 27 mins or so from this location. Several minutes more than what the app was saying for wait time. We got there. Pizzas weren't done. We had to wait 10-15 mins. Normally not a big deal but we were already going to be super late getting home so it was annoying to wait this time. My pizza was good, I was happy they followed the note and went lite on the dairy free cheese. However my husband's was more burnt than acceptable on the bottom. When we got home (after 1 am) I was emptying the cooler and my son's leftover pieces were pretty burnt on the bottom. More than you'd expect from a wood fired/type pizza oven. Pretty sure my son only ate as much as he did because by the time we got to Redding it was 8:30/9 and he was hungry. They were super busy, but still I ordered with time to spare in the app, and we still had to wait. This was the first time I'd ordered with the app, but I remember that at our usual mod pizza at home I've seen ppl come in for an app order and they haven't even started making it! Very excellent pizza! I always get the gluten free, not for a fad but because im gluten sensitive. So I won't die or go to the ER if a small amount gets in my system. Anyway, I love the GF dough, I've tried so many different doughs Bob's red mill, trader joes, online recipes, cauliflower doughs. MODs GF Dough is the best, it should win an award! I don't feel like im missing out on the real dough, I feel like I'm eating the naughty stuff. Lol so for the folks like me who are sensitive to gluten TRY MOD OUT. They might give you a warning when you order the gluten free dough, they tell me every time. Saying something like, "You do realize this is not a gluten free environment? Do you need me to change my gloves?" Thing. It's nice and cool that they care. :) oh, and the Gluten free dough is a dollar more, i think it's about $12? You won't be able to finish it. read more

They have great pricing, lots to customize a pizza, salad, and pizza salad with, plus it's all brick oven cooked which gives it a nice crisp clean flavor. I cringed a little when I clicked the 4 stars button, so I had to dial it back. I will say that of all the fast casual pizza experiences, this specific location is the best. I have been to other MOD locations, but this one by far provided me the best experience. I am a bit of a pizza snob. By that I mean that I will eat virtually any pizza, but I am going to have some strong opinions about it when I am done. I still have a hard time getting over the quality of the dough that is provided with the MOD pizza. Like any good sandwich or pizza, if the foundation is flawed (bread or dough) it does not matter what you put on top. The way that I addressed it this time was by purchasing the double decker pizza. It is dough, sauce, cheese, and then dough, sauce cheese and toppings. At least this time it was not over cooked and gave a bit of a chewy when biting into it. Overall, a reasonable price and a reasonable pizza. BTW, I wanted a Caesar salad but the lettuce was browned on the edges and not so fresh. What did I learn today? I think that MOD employees are climbing up the walls after hours to put stickers in ridiculously high places. read more

It's the Chipotle of Pizza with the energy of Dutch Bros. I've been twice and the experience was pretty consistent, and delicious. Having every employee cheer and shout when I walked in the door was super cute and fun the first time I visited. The second time it became almost a bit jarring when sitting inside, but it does keep a great energy level going! The food quality is exceptional and you really get to experiment with your taste buds. I think that starting a new restaurant in Redding is always a difficult thing, and this one hit the ground running. I'm a huge fan and definitely recommend it to anyone, and am excited to see how they refine their process after being open more that just a few weeks. read more

I absolutely love MOD pizza. Where else can you get a pizza for $8 and completely customize it- any toppings you want with no additional charge!! Literally you can ask for whatever kind of meat, veggies or cheese you want. Plus their ingredients are fresh and taste really good. The pizza is cooked right in front of you in a brick oven and doesn't take longer than 10 minutes. Their salads are also very delicious!! Not trying to sound like an old person, but it is really loud inside. The employees yell at each other and they also yell at you- not my personal favorite, but the pizza is so good! Such a great idea and good for this area. Great prices and great pizza. I usually always get really good customer service. Except one time.... The guy with the spiked black hair, eye liner, and tattoos was really rude and cold. He was like this to everyone behind me also. I thought it was very strange. He literally acted like he had better things to do and that he was utterly bothered by you being there. I too have tattoos and piercings so this is, in no way a character attack because of his appearance. I dig it, everyone needs a job but not everyone should be in customer service. read more

PROS: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I eat here at least 3 days a week. Fast, fresh, cheap. I love all the freshly in house prepared veggie toppings; roasted- brussel sprouts, garlic cloves, cauliflower, red bell peppers... the list goes on. It's perfect for a health conscious carb watching veggie loving whole food proponent local business supporter like me. My go to: mini create your own with garlic rub, pesto sauce, NO CHEESE, mushrooms, roasted red bell peppers, brussel sprouts (when on menu), garbanzo beans, whole roasted garlic cloves, crushed red pepper, olive oil drizzle before oven, and balsamic fig glaze after oven. CONS: Honestly there's not much about it I don't love with regards to the food... BUT with that said it is fairly hit or miss as far as customer service goes. Not condeming this age group but IMO with mostly 18 to young 20ish working there I wouldn't expect too much more from those with less customer service experience. This one doesn't require such a detailed review. It was what it is.....fast food pizza. I like to think a quality pizza is great crust, great sauce, and good/fresh ingredients. They have one of the three down. The ingredients are pretty fresh. Maybe not the best quality items like sausage or pepperoni, but they are busy enough to keep everything moving and therefore freshness up. The floor that all the employees were literally sliding around on had more product on it than what was on all the pizzas in the place combined. It was super busy...but the floor was super super dirty. Most of the employees were not wearing hair nets and really needed to be. Not just because the long hair, that doesn't bother me, but if you have a lot of it you need to keep it up and restrained tightly. I get it they are going for the edgy look and feel but hygiene is hygiene. All in all it was a good experience, the guy greeting everyone as they came in was super nice, but the pizza well Meh. Greeted by the entire staff as you walk in the door. They were all very friendly and super helpful. More than happy to accommodate guests. My SO and I ordered a small half and half pizza and the cinna sticks. Both were absolutely delicious. Quick, affordable, and soooooo yummy! Greeted by everyone, and had amazing service! Built my own pizza! Its all the same price, so why not, right? Thin crust, which I normally hate, was light and tasty! Talked with one of the owners and he was so nice and thanked us for coming in! The only negative was there weren't changing tables in either the men or women's restroom or any counter space to change a little booty! Mod is awesome. Definitely the best place to get pizza in Redding. I kept hearing people talk about it and saying, "It's so good they have SO many toppings!" Cool. But how do they cook it? Is it thin crust? What about the sauce? They cook it in a wood fired brick oven, the crust IS thin crust (thin crust or bust in my opinion), and the sauce is also super good. I went here for the first time two days ago and again this morning. I am also vegan so it's difficult to find a pizza joint that caters well to that or even has vegan friendly crust. Mod does/has all of these things and more. They even have a vegan mozz. My partner got the Mad Dog and added some extra things to it the other day when we both got Mega's and he thought it was awesome as well. Today we just went with the Mod. Both acceptable sizes for one person if you're really into pizza. I did watch a girl throw away her last slice and I wanted to cry. Does she not know cold pizza is even better than fresh pizza? Someone please find her and inform her of the magical powers of pizza. She is living in the shadows and needs to be shown the light. Ps, my partner says he is sorry for today, he wasn't trying to complain he was just trying to ask if it could be cooked longer or how something like that could be achieved to fully cook the center of the za. He's a dingus and kind of bad at making suggestions and having them sound like complaints. We both love your pizza and will be back probably 1-2 times a week from now until the end of time. And thank you to the Mod staff for going above and beyond the call of duty with the customer service as well. You can clearly see that your team takes pride in that and genuinely wants everyone's experience to be nothing short of excellent. I've been to this location 4 times now, never once has my pizza been wrong or even burnt on the edges which is very common with brick oven pizza. The service is outstanding when one of the managers (Xavier) discovered I'd not been receiving a discount I was allowed he gave me a free pizza card and a milkshake to round out my trip. People complain about the music being to loud, but if you ask them to turn it down, BOOM done no questions or arguements. Additionally on my most recent visit the witty banter was top notch and a discussion about purple hair giving confidence and lack of math skills made me smile for a solid 17 minutes. Went there today, first time. They have gluten free pizza crust!!!!! Thank you! The pizza was good, a little different than what I'm used to, but I would go back. Little concerning about the people serving on the food line seem to be dressed in their normal everyday clothes, just doesn't have that professional clean look. I do think they're trying to go after the younger crowd and to have their own identity but I would prefer the music not to be as loud. and the staff to be dressed a little more professional, The food handler. The staff was nice. I would suggest you try it. Update.... returned for a pizza today... line was a little slow Pizza was very good. Gluten free crust was about as good as it gets for gluten free crust. The music was not near as loud as before. Recommend this place! I know they want to portray themselves to be a little bit different than the normal pizza business. But I'm just have a hard time getting comfortable with the people serving you on the food line , The shirts that they wear don't look very clean. , It just doesn't look like they should be serving the food that you're about ready to eat . I did an online order and I placed my order 45 mins in advance. When i showed up on time no one was in line so i assumed it would be ready. I was wrong they hadn't even started my order. They were out of 3 of the topping i wanted. So i had to wait an extra 20 mins after my order time and some how they seemed to miss an entire part of the pizza. First, I very much dislike this location, but the pizza was AMAZING. I had to go to a neighboring business and had a few promotional gift cards ( from a local school's fundraising event). Also, the line wasn't out the door, as I have seen it on more than one occasion. In fact, I told the manager that if it had not been for those promo cards I probably wouldn't have ever bothered trying them out. This is great pizza. I will totally go back.
