I don't get what the hype is all about. The crust is very dry. It might as well be a cracker. The sauce is practically nonexistent. All I got was a slight sense of sauce, like a hint of sauce. And what is with all the salt (or whatever it was that gave the pizza it's bitterness)? Staff was pretty busy when I picked my pizza up, so I don't think they noticed me. Nice experience dining-in for a good pizza! It's a build your own Chipotle-Like restaurant but for wood fired oven baked pizzas. Instead of choosing a burrito or bowl, the employee starts out with a thin premade crust & you can choose from a wide variety of quality toppings and tasty looking sauces & herbs. I chose typical red sauce with mozzarella cheese, pork sausage, mild peppers. The newer employee accidentally burned my initial order (and all workers were very apologetic) but it only took a few moments to get it all reordered (& added olives this time) and baked the new one to the perfect crunchiness ! It was later afternoon & not too busy. I had my choice for indoor or outdoor patio seating but chose the comfortable air conditioned indoor seating due to the heat. They played top 40 tunes at a reasonable volume. And as I sat & ate I could see & hear employees politely interacting with additional customers and with each other. I had skipped lunch earlier that day & was super hungry so I totally forgot to take a pic! But I'll try to remember the next time & I'll add it onto here! Highly recommend! read more

The past meals I've had at MOD have all been enjoyable, so I was happy to see this chaIn open in Pickerington. The inside space is actually pretty big with plenty of tables and booths to choose from. The space was clean, and had a steady flow of customers for a Sunday lunch. I wanted to try MOD's cauliflower crust. It's only offered in the 11" size, so I had plenty left over for several meals. Offering a healthy alternative to a dough-centered crust, my cauliflower crust was good. Yes, if they could have taken it out of the wood-fired open oven about 30 seconds earlier, it wouldn't have been quite as crisp as it was, but that's nothing major imo. I made my own concoction of sauce and toppings: white sauce, arugula, spinach, extra sausage, extra ricotta dollops, black olives, corn, green peppers and roasted red peppers. It was awesome! Yes, I'm aware of the 4-toppings guideline that I learned from a Yelp event many years ago, but I'm happy to say the many fresh toppings didn't cause a soggy mess; the crust held nicely. And, I could taste all the toppings, since cauliflower doesn't really have its own distinct flavor that overpowers everything else. read more

MOD Pizza is an excellent choice if you're taking your family, particularly with young children. They have a great staff that greats you energetically upon entry. MOD (Made On Demand) offers an 11" pizza for about $8 with no limit on toppings. Children should be able to enjoy 1/2 a pizza each, while adults can eat a whole one and be comfortably satisfied. I normally get just a sausage and pepperoni on my first visit, for fair benchmarking against other pizzerias. On this day, I figured I'd enjoy more toppings, figuring it shouldn't make much difference in my comparison. I asked for sausage, pepperoni, green pepper and onions. They have a great meat and vegetable selection that the children will enjoy watching during preparation. It's actually quite fun for adults, as well. Before they put it in the oven, I added extra mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then had them put garlic butter on the bread. I sat down and began some light reading, only to have it interrupted in quick fashion because my order was ready. I swear, it seemed like 2 or 3 minutes, but I think it was closer to 5 or 6. I was worried that it might be a little under-cooked, but everything cooked thoroughly and tasted pretty good. Because of the cook time, the toppings moved a little more than I'm used to, but that didn't affect the flavor at all. It also wasn't as hot as pizza usually tastes, right out of the even, but that was fine. (I don't know if they allow for a second pass through the oven upon request, but if they do, I may try it to see how it turns out). We went back this evening for me to introduce others to the restaurant, but unfortunately the oven was down so they were closed. I was impressed because instead of a door posting, indicating that they were closed, the manager stood outside and apologized to each customer directly. He even gave out BOGO coupons. First time here and we loved it! Choose any toppings you want at no additional cost which is fabulous! It was nice to get what each of us wanted as I didn't want any meat but the other two did. This update is based on service; this evening as we were walking up to open the door, one of the staff literally ran to lock the door and yelled 'sorry' as he was actively locking it. I will be transparent and admit it was close to closing, however it was NOT closing time. What should have happened, they should have explained that everything was cleaned/put away.. etc. Or at least let us know that they're no longer taking orders, that would have been far better customer service. This was our 1st time here and it will be our last. This is like Chipotle style but for pizza. To start with we felt like they rushed us through the line. We had 3 different people asking us what we wanted on our pizzas and they were all putting toppings on and before I could make sure it was to my satisfaction I'm being asked what else I wanted on my pizza. They were trying to hurry us along. Now for the taste. First off it was very thin crust. I hate thin crust pizza. (These places in Ohio and their thin crust, they do not know how to do pizza like we do up in Michigan. Come up to Detroit and we'll show you a good pizza.) The taste was just ok nothing spectacular. We've definitely had better pizza. La Rosa's in Dublin and the Cincinnati area, makes a really good pizza but this place not so good. This was pretty much the same as Olive Branch Pizza in Canal Winchester only the taste was a little better at MOD. It was also way too loud inside and with the music cranked way up and the sound of everyone talking it was way too loud. The music they played was good music a mix of everything but they need to turn it down so you don't have to shout to the person across the table from you. We decided to sit outside on the patio but still the music was too loud. All in all we did not enjoy this experience. We paid $28 for two 11" pizzas and some plain nasty tasting garlic strips which is nothing more than their thin crust mini pizza with garlic and butter and some parsley on it, and 2 Cokes. It was too much for something that was not that great tasting. Save your money and go somewhere else for a better tasting pizza and dining experience. Sorry MOD but it's BIG NO for you. read more

On the stores end they said nope didn't go through and by the 27th it will off my act. I'm sure this is true but it was very frustrating that it was gone from my act and I was needing to then pay a second time. Unique place. Lots of toppings choices. A little sad they didn't have banana peppers. That's one of our go to toppings. The crust is pretty good. All of the pizzas we tried were great. I support businesses where managers provide a positive attitude when you need a simple question answered. MOD Pizza in Pickerington does not provide that. I had a simple question and as a customer/consumer I have the right to know who the manager is I am speaking too. I called the restaurant and a manager answered, I kindly asked who was I speaking to and she refused to tell me her first name. I had called because I ordered a mini salad earlier with a pizza and wanted to double check on the pricing. I can say that it was definitely over priced for what was in it. It was my first time in MOD in Pickerington and probably the last. I went inside to order and reviewed their board. This was a different kind of pizza experience. You can order from many preset pizzas, or order them any way you want them with topping selections chosen much like at a sub shop. The staff was very friendly. Ordered a Tristan, which is a sauceless pizza, which I had never had before. Was very good, and all ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Also got the garlic strips, which were very good. I would have preferred the dipping sauce not be stone cold. That being said the sauce it self was very good. The environment is LOUD. Not necessarily a bad thing. The price was very reasonable. Portions were fitting. The drink selection could have been better, but all in all, a very different pizza dining experience. Heard about this place and it was compared to Rapid Fired Pizza. Place opened very quickly in my area and was hoping it was less busy then the opening week when we went. The line was to the door and the parking lot was packed. Lime was moving a a great pace. They crew was very busy and they were able to handle everyone in line including online orders. Having worked at a few restaurants myself, I understood the wait and could see have hard they were working to make everyone happy. The food was worth the wait. They made sure every order was correct and that everyone walked away with a smile. I made to to inform the team of how good they were doing and how hard they were working.
