This was a terrible experience. Skip this place and go to Jersey Mike's! My wife and I ordered two sub combos and it came to 37! When we got our subs they offered us the combo and said we can get chips, fries, Mac and cheese or soup. We both got the soup. Silly me didn't look at what I was being charged for, big MISTAKE! They charged me an extra 4$ for each combo. Then they charged me another $3.40 for each cup of soup! When I brought the fact that they charged me an extra for the soup which was supposed to be part of the combo they just shrugged their shoulders and blamed the register. They couldn't even explain why I would be charged for a combo and then charged again for the side. I asked if maybe the side came with chips and the soup was extra and they said, no you dont get chips. The only solution they offered was to call corporate. First time at this location, it wasn't overly busy, but I still had a 10-12min wait. The staff was friendly, yet I did not ask many questions. I ordered up their new French dip, which I believe was a promotional item as it was not on the regular menu. The bread was soft and tasty, there were ample toppings on the sub as well as ample meat. it had really good flavor. The supplemental auju provided on the side was good; however, I ordered takeout, which allowed the lid to pop off and leak all over the bag and box. Disappointing. Boy, I sure hate writing reviews like this. Literally, the worst sub I've had in years. I ordered a medium Chicken Parmesan. This sounds wonderful, but in reality is a few meatballs with mozzarella in a bland tomato paste sprinkled with Parmesan. Okay, I guess they'd be chicken balls. Maybe pipin' hot it's better. But by the time it gets to the table and cools? Sorry, it was a crunchy, boring, canned tomato tasteless disappointment. Not to mention how messy things got. Extra napkins, please. Imagine a carry-out? You'd have to pop it in the oven or the nuker when you got home. The two young men were very nice and worked quickly. But the only other thing they had to do was watch basketball on tv. They have a clean, spacious dining room that appears bigger because it's empty. Kind of odd on a Sunday at 5:30. Maybe it's due to not having the a/c turned on or maybe I'm learning what everyone already knows? Firehouse has built an image around firefighting and first response. While this is terrific, understand the extent of their generosity is 0.075% of every dollar earned gets donated to support the local fire community. Again, thank you. If my math is correct that means for every $10,000 they take in they donate $7.50 . Seven dollars and fifty cents. I'll preface this by pointing out that this is not the first time I've experienced the below. I understand mistakes happen, but ignoring the mistake will push me to take my business elsewhere. In an order of two sandwiches, one sandwich was correct while the other had cheese though a request for no cheese was made. The food gets three stars. The franchisee's response to a complaint, or lack thereof, deserves bottom of the barrel of one star. 1 stars are difficult to obtain, or at least they should be. The overall order averages out to 2 stars with the only redeeming quality is the one sandwich that was made correctly; it was also ordered without modifications. I got a notice for 50% off subs for Monday night after 6pm. I use to order firehouse subs all the time for business, but since I moved I haven't had any in a while. 50% off...YES Please! I oordered on line. Checked the order, pressed enter, paid. Was excited to go pick it up. I get there at my appointed time. Walk in. Greeted warmly. Tell them my name. My order wasn't ready, but the other person was working on it. In walks another guy, his wasn't ready either, he expresses frustration, he gets his order. A couple of ladies walk in, confusion with the app. Which by the way takes both workers away from making sandwiches. Frustration happens. The girl that was making my order, re-engages in sandwich making. Apparently something got dropped and has to be remade. I say I'll take it cold, told no and they proceed in the remake. This whole time I can see a third worker in the back, looking like she was playing with a phone - maybe it was her break but I was there for 20 minutes. OK my sandwiches are finally ready. Asked to grab my chips. Handed a bag. A few mishaps, but 50% off sandwiches it can be excused. Then, I get the bag home. The hubby's club sandwich was missing bacon, did not have swiss cheese as asked for - his response was no more firehouse. My sandwich with was an Italian. Had mustard, which i said no mustard. I asked for cucumbers- woohoo I found 2 small pieces. It just tasted like it was missing stuff. And to add insult, I asked for an extra pickle spear. We got NO pickle spears- which is always a highlight for me. My expectations of Firehouse are high based on the service I have received in different cities on business. I finally got to try Firehouse Subs tonight and I'd say they did a pretty good job. My son was about to place an online order before I convinced him to download the app and sign up for their eclub to take advantage of their benefits and loyalty program. Now that I think about it, I didn't really convince him, so much as he allowed ME to download it and place the order FOR him. Consequently, I made him pay for mine (the universe always has a way of restoring balance within itself). I ordered the Club On A Sub (Smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, pepper bacon, and melted Monterey Jack) while he ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch (Smoked turkey breast, pepper bacon, melted sharp cheddar cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and creamy peppercorn ranch dressing.), both larges. By the way, "Large" is an understatement. That thing is huge (see the photo)! Being my first order through the app, I was rewarded a free large drink (saving $2.89). The ordering process is simple, but got to be a bit confusing when I tried to redeem the coupon for the drink. Turns out, you have to select the reward item, then go back to the order and cash out. The problem is/was, I couldn't find definitive information that the order was completed and that the bonus item was approved. Thanfully it was. We got to the restaurant for pickup a little after the indicated completion time, but they were very kind with their greeting and the checkout process was quick and efficient. The subs themselves were tasty, but not phenomenal. In their defense, I got normal sandwiches that don't deviate too far from the traditional recipe. Still, the bread was fresh and tasty and the ingredients were as good as I expected, so they don't lose any points with me. I could easily return there, particularly to try some of the other items, but to be honest, I won't go out of my way to visit. Nothing was stocked, as in hardly any chips, napkins, bottled drinks. Drink fountain was disgusting as were the bathrooms. Super slow service and got orders wrong. At least they corrected those orders and the worker owned up to it even though the supervisor was trying to fight us on punching in the wrong thing. I've been ordering pickup subs at this Pickerington, Ohio location for the last couple of years. After church I decided to treat a friend. I went into the restroom to wash my hands and I felt like I left the restaurant and was catapulted into a third world country. I saw a restroom with a floor that hadn't been mopped in weeks or possibly months. A toilet that also hadn't been cleaned in months. The sink had layers of dirt like tree rings. I've worked in restaurants during my college days and I've learned that if the restrooms aren't clean the prep rooms in back are probably just as dirty. This made me look a little closer at the dining area. There was one other patron sitting at a table eating. But, all of the available tables were not clean. We had to choose a table with the fewer amount of crumbs. Then my friend came back from the ladies restroom. She had a similar disappointed experience in the ladies restroom. Then we scanned to see the root of the problems, the employees. How could they use a restroom so dirty and not want to show initiative and or teamwork and clean the restrooms, tables or the floor? This location has gone downhill. Went in today and had to get refunded on my drinks I ordered because their soda machine was out of ice and out of most sodas. Coke stopped dispensing when my cup was 1/4 of the way full. Counters were dirty, there was a layer of dust on the counter in front of the people making the sandwiches. I ended up here for lunch because I was subbing for a high school Spec Ed teacher whose class went here for their Friday outing. White walls. Lots of firehouse esque decorations/paintings/photos adorn the walls. They're in the end unit of the small strip plaza, thus lots of windows let all the sunshine in. The ordering set-up is a bit awkward: once you enter, you have to walk in front of all the tables, to the other end of the room to place your order for here. When we got there, it was having a lunch rush, this it took us five or so minutes just to get to the registers. We ordered, paid, and each student was given a number stand to take back to their seat. Sammies are made to order. On average, I'd say the kids and teachers were getting our sandwich in about 8 minutes. I'd never been to FH before, not even looked at their menu. I was very happy to see their 500 And Under section - all these sammies where under 500 calories. Just right! I chose Mama's Chicken Salad sub. Lite "sauce" - no heavy mayo taste. But with that said, now firehouse and almost all chain restaurant's have just cut back on the amount of things like the meat on a sandwich and even shorting on soups and sizes of other things to make up for the hire pay they have to pay now and even seems like most all are even short handed since they even hire less employees per shift . i at first even thought it might of just been the employees fault and they just made a mistake , so i reordered a few days latter and it actually even had less meat on it and their soup bowl was half full not 3/4 like the last time . Also now must of the employees are teenagers at most of the restaurants nowadays and all their doing are playing on their phones and usually make you wait while even longer because they had to see what on Bobby's or Jesicas tic-tok or snap they posted before they get your food for you . I have ordered subs from this location, never felt compelled to write a review until today, after having a surprisingly cold, cheese less sub elsewhere. This place has hot, delicious subs with a generous amount of meat and ooey gooey cheesy goodness. Very nice I suppose that they have lower calorie selections on the menu, however when I'm getting subs, I am looking for the full experience, and these guys deliver. Been here twice. The service was below average and the food was decent. Maybe a step above Subway but nothing special. I got the pastrami sandwich the first time and the meatball sub the second time. One thing they don't tell you is that you should order your toppings when you order your sandwich. Having never been there I didn't know how it worked and the cashier did not ask if I wanted any toppings. The second time I went is when I noticed the turnstile with the toppings listed next to the cashier. The management should probably encourage their employees (who seem a little miserable) that they should ask the customer if they want any additional toppings when they order the sandwich. I've been to this location three times. I would second the notion that the staff needs a briefing in courtesy. I had an issue with my Brisket sub where they forgot to heat the meat before placing it on the sub. I let the girl at the register know about it and she rolled her eyes. I left it at that for the moment. I did fill out their survey and noted in the temperature category that it was unsatisfactory. I was contacted the next day by corporate and the shop manager.
