Stopped in on a day off during the week to get lunch to go! Upon entering we were the only ones in the restaurant and everyone was incredibly nice, patient, and helpful. we waited for the sandwiches to be made, and it was a pleasant atmosphere with good music and seemingly clean. The sandwiches were ready in no time and off we went to enjoy. They did have a bar inside you could eat at, as well as a little patio with tables on it. The sandwiches were delicious! We got the Italian, which was grilled and SO GOOD. My favorite of the two. The onions were perfectly thinly sliced and the sauce and herbs on it were just delectable. An amazing fresh deli sammie. The other we tried was the ultimate fresh made, which was PACKED. It was also delicious but just less my style. The honey mustard sauce really made the sammie stand out and was a great compliment to the meet and veggies. Just met the owner, Rick. Incredibly nice guy who seems to have his food priorities right! Wound up going for the grilled ham and cheese and it was magnificent. I was heavily in need for comfort food today and this could not have better hit the spot. The sandich was made by a female employee there whom was also incredibly friendly and helpful. She certainly nailed the food. This place is a gem amidst an over-bloated local corporate sandwich scene. Prices are comprable to anywhere else (besides subway), but the quality is lightyears ahead. Our first visit to this new sandwich shop and catering business. I ordered the Italian beef sub with jack cheese ($10) and it was super tasty. They forgot the cheese but the dip made up for it - very flavorful but for the price point I would have expected a bit more beef since you only got the sandwich for $10. The Mrs got the chicken salad sandwich and that was super tasty as well and the bread was nicely toasted. The sandwich special was $10 and you got a drink and small side of pasta salad. Wanted something different for lunch and had never been to this establishment. First off, I'm impressed! Walked in and Wes immediately greeted by I assume Rick himself. I ordered the Italian Beef and a side of pasta salad. My sandwich was made fresh right before my eyes. I'm about 5 minutes it was ready. I had read other reviews about the lack of meat on the Italian beef, Rick must have read the feedback because this thing was a monster! Loads of beef and pepperoncini's! This was more than I could eat in one sitting, so I halved it and saved the remainder for lunch tomorrow. Upon the first bite, I could tell that Rick took his sandwiches seriously! Soft fresh bun and the warm shaved beef layered in with the peppers made for a great taste. Additionally this sandwich comes with a side of hot Italian Aujus. My husband and I walked in as first time customers and were super impressed by the young lady at the front counter. The food was decent. I ordered a meatball sub and a side of pasta salad. My only complaint was that the bread wasn't toasted, so it was soggy; I had to eat the sub using a fork & knife. The pasta salad included carrots, celery, olives, and green peppers. It was also okay. This first visit was, well, kinda awkward. The young girl behind the counter was very pleasant, greeted me right when I entered, was attentive. The older gentleman - not Rick (I asked), his response seemed a bit curt, like he was ready for the day to end. I did ask a few questions, but I felt kinda odd in the moment. This place is not a "deli" in the sense they don't sell their meats every day by the lbs, but they sell whatever they cut that morning to coincide with there sandwiches. I'm assuming they always cut meat for the sandwiches that are always on their menu: Italian - salamis, ham, etc; roast beef for their Reuben and French Dip; ham for their cold/hot/grilled sammies; turkey for their club. The gentleman also said they didn't have any specials today, it being Easter weekend, but the specials are normally posted daily on their Facebook page. I did see prepared garden salads, shrimp salads and a Salmon salad in the casing, along with proportioned smoked pork and brisket that they do on-site. I sampled their chicken salad sandwich spread with dried cranberries and celery. The sweet taste reminded me of Marzetti's slaw dressing with a similar sweet flavor profile. Rick's is homemade, so I'm not sure what all's involved, but that's my best comparison. It was good, and with a little salty/savory from maybe some bacon and tomato squished between a sandwich thin, mmmmmm. I've only heard great things about Rick, and obviously he's probably been working his tail off to keep Freshmade rolling (he opened this sandwich shot not too long before the pandemic hit), so kudos to his success. I hope to give Freshmade another try, this time to sit down and really enjoy the atmosphere and eatable offerings. read more
