The establishment is very clean and modern. We were very excited to try this place since reading all of the positive reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food came out promptly. I was disappointed that the brisket was shredded and prefer mine to be thinly sliced. We tried all of the sauces and I enjoyed the smoky sriracha the best. My husband didn't like any of them. The other ones seemed too sweet and vinegar based flavorings. We both got the sampler platter. The meat itself didn't have much flavor and even after putting the sauce on, it still didn't taste like much. The brisket tasted like pot roast and the shredded pork also didn't have much of a flavor. I did enjoy the chicken wings. I love mac and cheese and unfortunately it tasted like an average frozen mac and cheese from the grocery. I did love the garlic Texas toast and thought it was better than Canes. The food was overpriced in my opinion. But so is everything nowadays. I was still hungry when I left. Atmosphere was on point. Very clean, it looks brand new but it has been around for a few years. Food was very good nice taste on the house sauces. I recommend to just get the sampler with Jalapeño sausage. Bob greets you and takes your order. Made good recommendations since this was my first time here. Pretty darn good. Well off our normal paths, but we were out this way and it was handy. And the kid likes bbq- well, mac and cheese, and you can almost always find it at a bbq place. Handy just off the highway, and out of traffic on a road around the corner. Big open building, bright and airy- but, lots of echos and background noise inside with the metal ceiling, metal chairs, etc. Super friendly and patient service. They had a $1 wing special, so I of course had to try those. Got 5 with Cajun garlic sauce- a little heat, good sauce, great wings. Meaty and tender, and crisped up nice. Also got a brisket sandwich, chopped (you can get sliced.) Loads of meat, nicely diced. Tender and flavorful; doesn't need sauce. But they have three and I tried them. None amazing, all good. My favorite was the Bold Gold, darker and richer than most mustard sauces, with a bit of heat. Kid K got the mac and liked it. A little black pepper in it, which might put some kids off but it wasn't overwhelming. Loved the fries. Crispy, tasty. Drinks are just cans and bottles. Prices are a little high, but then, servings were big and prices are high everywhere, and it's bbq so it's worth it. Best BBQ around! Local place evolved from a food truck, this gem needs more love from the community. Classic BBQ sandwiches or ribs along with an eclectic selection of their own creativity are on the menu. It's a "order as you enter" style of dining but those at the front counter know their menu and are on-point when they say, "It's hard to make recommendations here because everything is great!" Took my son here for his 10th birthday since he loves ribs. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant and nice on the inside. The pics of the food on Yelp were very intriguing so I was unsure of which item I was going to choose, but I ultimately decided to go with the wings. The food came out fairly quickly and it looked very good. The wings were seasoned to perfection and they give you a nice amount of wings. I got cheese and bacon fries as my side and a bottled water. They offer 3 sauces to choose from, and my favorite was Sweet and Tangy. The wings were nice and meaty, but to be honest they didn't even need BBQ sauce. The cheese and bacon fries were just okay, the cheese sauce threw me off a bit. But I tried one of my son's regular fries that didn't have cheese sauce and it was better without the cheese and bacon in my opinion, so next time I will just get regular fries. I tried a bite of my wife's cornbread and I did enjoy it. The ribs were just okay, when I added sweet and tangy to them they were better. But the wings were good enough for me. My wife and I decide to try it yesterday and we will definitely be back. Service was fast and very welcoming. My wife had a brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. I had the sampler with ribs, pulled pork and sausage with Mac and cheese and baked beans. We both really enjoyed the meal. The meats were well smoked and very moist. The sides were both good. The only thing I that would say was not exactly the best was that the macaroni was slightly soft like it was over-cooked. read more

Easy to get to. Lots of parking. A converted quick lube type structure with Industrial modern decor with lots of space between tables. Clean and all the necessities available. Service was prompt, cordial, and accurate. You order from a menu board when you enter and seat yourselves. No freebie drinks, cans or bottles, even water! Coke products (a plus for me). The food and sauces were all acceptable. Nothing we found exceptional, but, no real objections either. The corn bread is cake like and a finer, moister texture than most! The wings shown in my picture have the spicier sauce of the two they offer. I thought it pretty tame, my daughter thought it hot... My daughter thought the pork or the fries had to much salt. However she uses no salt. My daughter thought it was pricey (about $35) for the two of us. However, the portions were large enough that we each took a container home. So if you look at it as 4 meals it wasn't bad. There is no real reason we wouldn't go again. But, we'd probably not make it a priority either read more

I just received an incorrect order from this location. I spent $50 on wings and other items. I wasn't given my sauces. I spoke to the manager and explained I live almost 30 minutes away and am upset because I don't want dry wings. He said the best he could do was offer 50 cents for my troubles. (An absolute joke for almost an hour of drive time.) This place has horrible customer service. When told I was going to be leaving this review they still didn't care. I like supporting small businesses but not one like this, one that doesn't actually care about their customers. On top of the poor service, the food wasn't even worth this annoyance. Everything was way too salty and dry like it sat in warmers all day. It's a shame, this pace was really good a few months ago. This place recently took over the old ramen restaurant that was here. Very limited menu to pork, chicken, brisket and nice sides like Mac and cheese and green beans. It smelled incredible as soon as we walked in, nice and smoky. I ordered the one pound of wings and it came out to $14.20 for seven medium sized wings. I was charged for an extra sauce that I didn't ask for, they asked me if I wanted a sauce and saw that you got one free on the menu. When I picked up my food they said sauce was on the table, could be since they are still new and getting used to POS system. The wings were medium size and I asked for light dry rub, they were pretty much 3/4 covered. Flavor was good and the crunch of the skin was nice. Overall for the cost, I would probably stick with the brisket or pulled pork. Hope this place does great and I'll be back to try the remainder of the menu. read more

I would say 3.5 stars close to 4... Brisket and pulled pork could be less salty to balance the side dishes to pair. Highly recommend the mac and cheese just delicious!!! Seasoned fries are so yummy!! Recently had SmokeOut servicing lunch at my work and I had to jump at the opportunity since BBQ is so good. After finishing my meal I felt let down, though. The service wAs polite and quick but the food was underwhelming. I got the sampler for $15 which included 3 meat and 2 sides. The value was pretty good. For my meats, I got dry rub wings, brisket and pulled pork. For sides I got Mac and cheese and baked beans. Starting with the meats, the brisket a seemed over-salted. It was juice but the salt was overpowering. The pulled pork was a little dry and didn't have much flavor. The wings were the best of the 3, but they were relatively small in size. Decent flavor. On to the sides, the Mac and cheese was ok at best. Like so many other reviewers have pointed out, there isn't much flavor. They could easily add another type of cheese or something to add flavors or even a little crunch from bread crumbs. The baked beans were good, but maybe a little on the sweet side. I did try their traditional bbq sauce which had an odd consistency. If you're in a pinch for time and they happen to be in the parking lot, give them a try. We had pulled pork, chicken, BBQ beans, and Mac and cheese We're not the easiest to please but the comments across the board from players and families was excellent. They set up the buffet one-time, were very easy to work with, provided more than enough food for our group of 60 all at a very fair price. This has become one of my favorite food trucks in Columbus. I've had just about everything on the menu, so I think I've got a pretty good handle on the place. First off, Derek is a great guy and super friendly, so the customer service is always on par. On top of that, he really knows what he's doing with the barbeque. The brisket and pulled pork are super juicy, and I especially love the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with the cole slaw and homemade vinegar sauce. I throw the mustard sauce on there as well, and it all goes together really well. If you're looking to really get your money's worth, go with The Hot Mess, which is just a meat of your choosing layered over mac and cheese and beans. If you go for lunch and try to finish this, you'll probably have a hard time staying awake the rest of the afternoon, so good luck. It can easily be split into two meals. My favorite thing here though, and these drive this place up to a 5 star on their own, is the wings. They are probably some of the best wings in Columbus. They're smoked and crispy but still tender and juicy on the inside, and the dry rub that goes on them is just so good. The garlic buffalo is the other option, and I don't know which one I like more. These sell out pretty quickly, so you'll want to scope out where the truck will be and get there early. I probably shouldn't be telling people that, but oh well. I'm hoping he gets a brick and mortar spot, because it would be waiting for the truck to come around for lunch every few weeks! Although, that does make the anticipation that much higher. If you see this truck around, don't give it a second thought and just go. Columbus can always use more delicious barbeque. read more

When we walked in, we definitely got southern vibes (but not in a hospitality way). The customers and some of the employees just stared at us lol. We ended up ordering the Carolina Pulled Pork($9), Mac and Cheese ($4), BBQ Baked Beans($3), Buffalo Garlic Chicken Wings 1lb ($13), and Loaded Fries($6.50).
