Came in after seeing all the rave reviews! Didn't know anything about this place going in. Was shocked to see how many customizable options for pizzas there were and how well priced the food was! There are endless amounts of possibilities for your customizable pizzas that you could create. I went in for lunch and saw many people having a great time. You build your pizza similar to a sandwich shop where you tell them all you want on it ranging from crust, sauce, cheese, etc. Pizza comes out very quick and I was shocked with how great it was! read more

MOD Pizza does reset your MOOD!! Hands down, the best pizza in town! From now on, this is the only place I'll go for pizza. (MOD - made on demand). As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the amazing smell of fresh baking. The place was very clean, and the staff was friendly. It wasn't too crowded on a Saturday night, but that might be because I went in late. I noticed a lot of people picking up to-go orders. I built my own 11 inch pizza and loaded it with over 20 toppings - different sauces, meats, veggies, seasonings, and cheeses all on a Mod Pizza base. The crust is somewhere between thin and regular (but still on the thinner side) and super flavorful. Even with so many toppings, the pizza tasted fantastic, way better than any other pizza place in the city.And the best part? It only cost around $11 (before tax)! What more could I ask for? My pizza was incredible - I was looking for something similar to Blaze Pizza and MOD was a great choice. I can't say I loved the cheesy garlic bread... not a fan of the chunks of minced garlic, would much rather have garlic powder on the cheese bread or something, so I wouldn't order that again but I would go back for the wood fired za! read more

If you want to customize pizza, Mod is definitely the place I recommend. The people are amazing and do a consistently good job. Getting to dial in on the perfect pizza for you is great and you get great options. The cheese bread and No Name cakes are great additions to the pizza. There seem to be a lot of these quick, fast casual build-your-own pizza places opening up and this is one of the better ones. It's a simple concept. Similar to a Subway or Chipotle, you enter, stand in line and either pick a recipe from the wall or design your own pizza as you go through the line. Once you get to the end you can order your choice of beverage (beer, soda, water are available) and a dessert if you're game. Once your order is complete then you can go and find a table and wait for your pizza to cook. After about five minutes it'll be ready. Easy peasy. It'll taste good too. Note: Parmesan cheese, peppers, sriracha and other condiments as well as additional silverware and napkins are available next to the soda machine. So, it's 8pm and we find ourselves heading back to our hotel in Olathe after a long day of softball tournaments. We're all a little grouchy and tired from the days events and the adults (ok, the momma and the hangry dad) are wondering what we can order for dinner that wouldn't cost us a fortune. We get up to our room, listen to our teenagers fight, look up what's close and will deliver for a not outrageous price to our hotel, and decide that MOD pizza looks acceptable. Holy cow was it a solid decision. We each got a pizza with exactly the toppings we wanted. The crust was amazing. The toppings were generous and fresh. We ordered our pizzas at 9:12, and they were delivered to our hotel room fresh and hot by 9:41. Including a 15% tip for the delivery driver, our total was $44. Four 11" pizzas with crazy amounts of toppings delivered. Incredible. I can't say enough good things. Pictured is the carnage left from the hit this family of four put on the FOUR fully customized individual pizzas- we had less than one pizza left. So good. We will be back. read more

Been to this location before without issues, but went yesterday evening, and had a BBQ Chicken Pizza. Taste was fine, aside from the chicken, taste was off in it a bit. Enjoyed my pizza lunch today. I modified the BBQ chicken pizza to my liking (basil and pineapple were both great additions!) It was about the right amount of food for lunch. The berry infused lemonade was super delicious. Arrived before the lunch rush and the experience was fast. As the line got longer and longer I was pleased not to be in line waiting around. Plenty of seating and a good mix of tables, high tables that seat 6, and classic 4 seater booths. read more

Oh man, this place is great!!! Upon walking in, you're instantly greeting, I mean by everyone working there, it's pretty awesome! Everyone was friendly, If you didn't know what you were doing because it's your first time there, they walk you threw everything. It's kinda like Chipotle style pizza place where you can choose everything and anything you want on your pizza. The price is one set price, so they don't charge extra for toppings. All the toppings are fresh. I don't know what kind of "style" pizza this is though, I just know it's amazing! The crust is then and crispy on the edges, but not cracker like all the way through. I've always passed by MOD but never stopped by until one afternoon with some friends. Since it was our first time, the pizza-makers were very friendly in explaining the ropes of the place. The price was very affordable and there was an endless amount of toppings offered. Moving down the topping line, I couldn't help but add more and more toppings (This was my first time trying asparagus on pizza!). After paying, the pizza came out rather quick and was delicious! With all the quick pizza places popping up around the metro, MOD is one of the best I have had! Their pizzas are slightly larger than most at 11". The topping and sauce choices are abundant. And their menu of specialty pizzas is large and full of variety for anyone. I ordered the "Tyler" which had red sauce, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, 'Merican bacon, mozzarella, pineapple and BBQ sauce on top. It was delicious! The crust was the perfect consistency of light airy and sturdy enough for the load of toppings. My wife built her own and picked like 9 toppings! We thought her pizza was going to be a mess but it turned out great. She was still able to pick it up and eat it with all those toppings. Best part is you can add as many toppings as you want and its all the same price! Really happy this place is in our neck of the woods in South JoCo. NOT Vegetarian or Allergy Friendly!! The wife and I went there yesterday for the first time. I'm a vegetarian and have a few allergies. We stood in line for a few minutes watching the people ahead of us order their pizzas and/or salads. What we noticed so grossed us out that when it was our turn to order, we just said no thanks, turned around and left. Mod Pizza works like this: You would tell the clerk pizza or salad and then tell them what toppings you would want on it. Well, there were about 20 or more containers of various toppings, but NOT ONE serving utensil to take toppings out of the containers. How did they remove the toppings? With their gloved hand. So when the customers ahead of us told them meat, cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms, the clerk would put his hand into each topping container and pull out toppings. So every container would be cross contaminated because of the same glove going into it. If you have an allergy to any one product they serve, all of their product is cross contaminated with everything else. Similarly, if you try and order a vegetarian pizza or salad, rest assured that the lettuce, tomato and other vegetables have had meat gloves inside those containers too. The bottom line is: You cannot order a vegetarian salad or pizza here. Similarly if you have an allergy to any one product, due to cross contamination, you risk an allergy outbreak. I have to wonder what will happen when someone with some specific allergy comes in and orders a pizza without that allergy product and then breaks out in a life-threatening event due to cross contamination. Lawsuit waiting to happen in my legal opinion. If they would only put serving tongs into each pizza/salad topping container, this would resolve the whole issue. I hope they read this review and make appropriate changes. It's a good concept, but applied terribly. read more

One of the best places to get some made-to-order personal sized pizzas! There are quite a few of these types of fast-casual pizza restaurants popping up around Kansas City and the rest of the world but MOD pizza has a few things that push them above their competitors in my opinion. First and foremost this MOD Pizza location is located in a plaza with decent parking and is sized well with lots of tables and very tall ceilings. The tall ceilings not only make the place feel much more open but it helps push all the pizza smell off of you and into the air. I've been to other pizza places where you just come out smelling like pizza which is not something I personally like. Now the best thing about MOD pizza are their options and boy do they have a TON of options. Firstly, you have three different sizes to choose from: Mini, MOD, or Mega. Mini are 6" smaller pizzas, MOD are the standard 11" pizzas, while the Mega are still 11 inchers with a thick crust! You then have the option to choose one of their creations or create your very own pizza with unlimited, yes, unlimited toppings! You'll find a large choice of 30+ toppings which make MOD Pizza stand out. You will find the typical toppings like pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, etc. but you will also find atypical ones. My favorite are the roasted garlic and Mama Lil's peppers which have a kick to them but also a nice sweet flavor. The other great thing about MOD pizza are their vegetarian/vegan options. I really fancy their dairy-free cheese which melt and ooze just like a normal cheese. It also tastes just as delicious and is a good mozzarella substitute! Lastly, you have the option to add an extra sauce at the end which is quite unique. I definitely recommend MOD Pizza and fancy the amount of choices and ingredients that you can add to make your pizza your own. read more

I was super excited to try this place because of the reviews but it was honestly disappointing. I paid $26 for 2 mod pizzas and a cheesy bread that were below mediocre. They skim you on toppings and flavor. Compared to Blaze this place is a let down. They have more sauces, cheeses and topping options at Blaze. read more

What a great place! It is so refreshing to have a "Chipotle-style" pizza place that actually allows you to top your pizza however you want for 1 affordable price. I tend to like lots of vegetables on my pizza, and because every other fast-casual place charges more based on topping quantity, I always end up just getting cheese. This place allows me to splurge on all the veggie toppings I want. They also have a huge variety of toppings - tons of different cheese, garlic, sauces, etc. The pizza is less than $8, and is more than enough food at 11". They have a large drink selection, including beer bottles, draft beer, wine, and soda and they even have shakes and floats. I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

Staff needs to learn the word accountable. If I go inside and "supervise" then making the pie, it's picture perfect. But if I do an online order and pick it up? The bottom has always been burnt and, I have no other way to ask, but, do they take the cost of toppings directly out of your paychecks? I watch you make it, it's perfect. But if I don't watch you make it, I may as well say "yo can I get a burnt bottom cheese pizza and only give me 2 of the 5 toppings I asked for, and even then, very sparingly?"
