As someone who loves pizza, I swung into MOD Pizza while visiting for work. I've had it once before in Arizona and, truthfully, while I like the fact that it's quick and they have a fair amount of "build your own" toppings, the pizza is most times nothing overwhelmingly good. Not to say that it's bad by any means, but I'm sure locals would have many better places to recommend. First time ordering by phone. Was surprised to find the answer/order process was automated by voice recognition. And it did an excellent job. My brain couldn't come up with the name of the dessert I wanted to add to the order, so I opted to pay upon arrival. I was very impressed with that automated system. Not only did it do a way better job of understanding what I say than my phone, but it detailed "Hawaiian" down to the exact components on the pizza and asked what other options I wanted. As impressive as that system is, it does indicate the future of dining out. The dining area was empty again. Not sure how these places will survive. Maybe by becoming take out only? Staff was friendly, creating a pleasant ambiance in an otherwise empty space. Was nice to be greeted upon arrival and wished well upon leaving. As you can see from my pic, the toppings are sparse. Pizza was so flippin good, I came in right after work and all i wanted was some pizza in my belly and they delivered. Within 5 minutes I had a hot pie in my mouth. The service was fast, friendly, and personal. Not just asking questions about my pizza but also my day, I work pretty remote so i don't get to talk to too many people through out the day so it was really nice to have a real conversation. Jordan was the one who made my pizza look delicious and Gabe was the one who cooked my pizza amazing. As I near the halfway point of my drive between Beaverton Oregon in the bay area, I got a little hungry & I needed some gas. If you've read my reviews you know that I actually don't get hungry but I do know that I need to eat several times a day and it was 1 PM. Time to eat or I'll start losing energy fast. Went to get pizza after our pedicures on Friday! Now hear me out we love mod!! But at this location I think they may need some new staff... the blonde girl that took our order was very rude from the start, not sure why as I was very polite. We had to yell for her to hear us because the music was SO LOUD! Then she asked for my which is normal right for your order no big deal. Then she spells it wrong!?! Why even ask?! lol food was great! This location is typically good, but tonight was NOT it. I had a very long, tiring day and just wanted to unwind with some pizza. Pick up wasn't ready for almost 10 minutes after the set time but that okay no big deal. But I noticed the employees were chatting amongst themselves CONSTANTLY and barely focused on what they were doing. Very good for a Fast Food pizza place. Quite thin crust so akin to a flatbread which I prefer but not for everybody. Toppings were all fresh and you can add whatever you want for one price. The experience I had was terrible. The place was empty and i was in a rush. The staff was incompetent, ignoring me, slacking off, and there was so many of them. I swear they needed five people to try and make one decent pizza. First I have to say, as a chain, I love MOD Pizza. But this new location on the south end of Medford needs some help. I've been there at least 5 times now since they opened and the service has been horrible every time. Tonight inspired this review. There were only 2 people in front of us in line when we arrived. The staff was mostly young people and it seemed totally unsupervised/managed. If there was a manager ther, I couldn't tell who it was. Pizza's were dropped on the floor and mistakes were being made all over and the staff was talking about it like it was funny. There seemed no ownership of anything that was happening and they didn't seem to care. It may have been a way of dealing with stress, but this wasn't okay from the standpoint of someone waiting for and paying for a meal. With two people ahead of us, we were in line for at least 15 minutes before ordering our pies. One issue was that that they started filling call in orders before us. Also the second person in the pizza assembly line kept leaving her station to do something else. As we waited a line formed to the door. I hope they've eaten by now! My friend and I ordered our pizzas at the same time and paid on the same check. Yet I got my food long before he did as they somehow messed up the paper under his pizza with his name on it with someone else's. He also order non-dairy cheese and they put so much on it that it wouldn't melt and had to be cooked longer which left the crust over cooked. Just saying, it was a train wreck of a meal. Deserving of 5 stars with the service I received from the employees. I also like my pizza well-done and the pizza cook knew what he was doing. He even addressed me by name when he saw me leaving about an hour after I came in, asking how my pizza turned out. I conducted a conference call via zoom on my laptop in the restaurant using their Wi-Fi and had no technology challenges. Also, the music selection was quite a delightful throwback. I went there on Monday, it is now Thursday afternoon. I had to Google Maps the location to make sure I had the right one since I travel a lot. That's how good my experience was. Well-worth! They said the would move me to the top of the online orders, which they did then proceeded to take orders from people in line for the next 10 minutes before starting mine. Came to check out the grand opening of MOD's new Center Dr location- the line was nuts, but to be expected. At least the ladies that came to the back were sweet enough to hand out free samples of their shakes while we waited (which were delicious, btw). The staff, as always, are amazing- I have food allergies & one of the reps made certain that EVERYONE down the line changed out their gloves & used new utensils to serve up! I've seen great customer service before, but this was above & beyond in comparison! I had a mod-ified Jasper (spicy sausage, mushrooms, mozz) with pesto sauce & added pineapple, roasted broccoli & feta... needless to say, if you don't like Mod, why come in? Everything they make is AMAZING! Also got a side salad that I added arugula to & their honey-lime dressing- which I couldn't inhale fast enough lol. To top everything off, because I can't get enough of the stuff, I slurped down their ever-delicious caramelized pear iced tea & featured marion-blackberry lemonade.
