I'll tell you the truth- Abby's Pizza is EASILY Oregon's #1 Pizza chain, and the title is well -deserved. There are ALL kinds of "traditional"- and, much more importantly: NON-"traditional"-read: " not just the mundane," pizzas and other menu items, that are consistently- of the HIGHEST quality that you're gonna find! First off: they use the, "cup" pepperoni, which I like way better than the soft, languid crap a lot of places use. the crust is always done perfect. AND: for those of you that ALWAYS just toss the crust- their crust is also crunchy, and minimal. The toppings are all freshly prepped and cooked perfectly with all options for sides, like bread sticks or garlic knots available in different sizes. Boneless and bone- in wings, multiple flavors of wing sauce are also available. Your basic side, chef, etc. salads also here- in small or main- course size. They also have , "spud" potatoes as a side, which I think are immensely superior to Jo-Jo's..( they're thin, super crunchy, and are uniquely, Abby's-and I APPROVE!) Plus, I like to gamble here, and the folks that work here are really polite, and they do an awesome job at making it a relaxing place to be. TV's, some video/ arcade-style games for the kids and an ample dining room make this a nice spot to chill, and be thankful that,"Abby's"-is synonymous with "high quality, properly executed, and delivered- product,"..It's no wonder the place has been around for like, 50 f"*in' years! Damn- this is one of the best-run franchises the state of Oregon has to offer! If they had shares of stock I'd invest in them! The food was great. The customer service not so much. I ordered online for pickup said it would be ready in 25 minutes, I waited 20 minutes to head to pickup. Upon arrival I was told a dine in order with 6 pizza came in right after my order was received so they were making that order first and it would be 30-40 more minutes before my pizza was ready as they had not even began preparing. Once voicing my dissatisfaction with this situation I was told sorry there's nothing they could do about it. An online order is no different than an in store order. I gave them a Google review a few weeks ago that was a 5, even though they forgot things from my order. I even left that fact in the review. Today I called because I was having pizza delivered and I told them my extra cheese never made it last time and I asked if they could make sure it was there this time. I'm was EXTREMELY polite in asking and also asked for taco sauce. What I got... no sauce, NO CHEESE again!!! 2 small tomato slices so only two pizza get tomato, none get cheese or taco sauce!! I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had with Abby's Pizza. They claimed they couldn't find my house, even though I've ordered from this same address before without any issues. Instead of contacting me or resolving the problem, they canceled my order. When I finally called to ask why my delivery was taking so long, I was told the store had already closed and that my order had been voided. I was also told they had tried calling me, but that's simply not true--I had no missed calls or voicemails. The entire experience was frustrating and unprofessional. If there was a legitimate problem finding my address, I would have gladly helped over the phone. Instead, my order was canceled, I was left without dinner, and I was given an explanation that doesn't match my phone records. I expect better communication and accountability from a business. Truthfully I wasn't blown away. The sauce and topping ratio were kind of off on the 10 inch pizza. 2 pieces hoarded most of the cheese, the rest were half dressed at best. The deep dish crust also kinda tastes like a buttered biscuit from KFC. Maybe garlic powder would balance. This place is certain people's fave, but I feel so-so. We ordered a create your own personal pizza, a gluten free pepperoni small pizza and a Caesar salad. I can't believe the toppings, oh my goodness. For most of my California pizza eating life, a combination pizza is self explanatory, it's a combination of meat and veggies. Not a combination of meats with olives and mushrooms. I placed the order online in continued efforts to minimize potential for close contact tracing. I received a confirmation of my pick up time that was the following day. Completely expecting issues with my online order I arrived early. When I arrived, I noticed all the COVID precautions they had taken. When I stepped to the counter, I advised I had an order and to my delight, the order was just about ready even though I arrived early. The staff was absolutely amazing: courteous, smile behind the mask, pleasant in their interaction..... even inquiring what I was picking up and cheering my employee on as well as my commitment to make her day special. Just received the three large pizzas I ordered. I am blown away at the size of these "large" pizzas! They look "SMALL" compared to most other pizza places in Medford. How in the world does a 13" pizza classify as large? When I called to complain, I'm hit with "well there are this many slices per pizza..." as this explains the rip-off. My comment back was "you can cut the pizza into 100 slices, but that doesn't make it any larger" I ask..."What happened to a large size pizza?" It's not like this tastes gourmet or anything. 60 years ago I began growing up on Abby's in Roseburg so I am a fan. Used to eat there 4-5 times a week. I have tried many of the Abby's restaurants and S. Medford is the most like the original in Roseburg. We try to eat there at least a couple times a month. Their toppings top quality and in great quantity. They have the most perfect pizza crust, not overly bready and very well cooked. I have tried them all and my favorite is the Abby's special. The staff is friendly, but busy. I've been coming to this Abbys since the early 70's- then with family and now with my own family. I think the consistency here is what is the best. The pizza is delicious and the staff is always good to me. They are so generous on the toppings I really don't know how you can go wrong when feeding your family. Literally like their commercials say "toppings from edge to edge". If ever there's a problem they will quickly fix it- but that happens rarely. If you have a need for your baseball team to get together after a game- this is the place to come. I was just chatting with the manager Mike about how long he's worked here- and it's been over 10 years- then on top of that time, he worked here when he was in high school. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I'm from San Jose visiting friends and they recommended that we get pizza from there. I ordered the food at 5:38pm online to be delivered. Added a 15% tip on top of the delivery fee. The email says estimated 1 hour 30 minutes for delivery. I tried calling them around 10 times and to see where the order is. All I got is a busy signal. Had to get in my car and drive down there. When I showed up and told them what was going on they were just making the pizza. The guy tried to offer a 2 liter soda. I said we don't drink that type of soda. He said ok printed out the receipt and took off the tip and delivery fee? I told him I am not happy with having to drive all the way down here to pick up the order. Also that I tried to call ten times and the line was busy. He started making excuses that they just had a big party (14 people at a table) the rest of the place was empty. Then he preceded to tell me he has 1 driver. The guys attitude was really poor. 10 min later having to wait for the pizzas he said your order is ready. I told him that I was going to leave a bad Yelp review and said whatever. I have been eating Abby's Pizza since they opened their restaurant in Grants Pass in 1965. I was eight at the time. That was our favorite restaurant back when I was growing up in Grants Pass (with Hong Kong restaurant a close 2nd). Since then I've eaten in most of the Abby's in Oregon, and they are all great. Plenty of toppings, great daily hand-rolled dough and I love the Linguica. I even worked in the Grants Pass Abby's for about 6 months back in 1973. Let me tell ya, I've eaten pizza in over 20 different states across the great USofA and Abby's is still (by far) my favorite pizza! No kidding!!!
