Love this concept! It's like Chipotle and MOE's but for pizza. They have some really good options to choose from or you can make your own. My favorite is the Lucy Sunshine with extra garlic. The location is in a great spot and the employees are always friendly and fast. I've never had to wait too long, even when they when they are busy. Definitely check them out. If you order extra veggie toppings and there is literally only two pieces of that particular topping on said pizza, then by all means, get a pizza from here and you'll be thrilled! I ate two pieces of this substandard pizza and threw the rest away. I can not imagine what would have happened to my intestines had I eaten more. I thought I was knocking on Heaven's door as is. I love MOD's gluten-free pizza. I haven't gotten sick here which is really unlike most places I eat out at. I always write I have an allergy and they will change their gloves if I ask. Some of the workers don't really know what gluten is, so be careful to not add toppings you know are not gluten-free (such as sausage). Other than that, good food and good service. read more

The service has always been really friendly when I go in. Their pizza is good and can be totally personalized. It's just not the crispiest crust so it's not my absolute favorite. But good! Never had a bad experience here. My son (he's 3) likes to think he is a pizza expert we love going when we need something quick. The service has always been fast with friendly staff. We generally do a couple "build your own" Mod pizzas, while I get the Caspian. I personally leave off the Gorgonzola. Staff is generally friendly, some more extrovert than others, some skimp on the toppings or use too much just ask them to adjust and they do so without any judgement. I was excited to see that a MOD Pizza was opening in Jacksonville, considering I haven't seen one outside of California or other locations not in Florida. I'm always a fan of wood-fired pizza, and the prices looked reasonable to me. They have two different sizes and two different crust types. I went with the mini size and choose the cheese pizza for my boyfriend and the Dominic, which is white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes, and mild sausage. I was able to order online and walk in right as they were making the pizza. It was hot and fresh to pick up! I like the modern, but cool hip look of the place, and I noticed that the manager was taking time to talk with patrons, explaining about the space and the concept of the restaurant. The pizzas were a decent size, although my boyfriend commented that he wants to try the bigger size next time. We both liked the pizza, and I liked the fresh ingredients on there. I probably would've asked for extra cheese to make it cheesier, but that's why there is always next time! From reading Yelp reviews, I noticed that they have specials on certain nights, so maybe we will have to plan a visit for one of those nights. read more

Grand Opening. Giveaways. Crazy crowd. We did get a free pizza but purchased drinks and cinnamon strips. Cool concept. You pay by the size of the pizza rather than by the number of toppings, and they have loads of toppings. They also have some pre-defined combinations. We had the Lucy Sunshine and added chicken. All pizzas come on a cracker-thin crust. We really, really liked the pizza and are anxious to try some other varieties. Because of the event, they had a lot of staff on hand, so service was extremely good and very friendly. We'll see how that carries over on a calmer day. I'll get back to you on that. read more

Update: Review from second visit The pizza is still very good however I did find something to dislike and other customers should be warned. If you are trying to use a coupon for MOD Pizza, be advised that the Jacksonville location at Bartram Park may not accept the coupon. This is actually a fairly prevalent practice among businesses: send an attractive coupon out to the public to increase traffic and then add new stipulations to the coupon when you get to the restaurant. Let me explain. Coupon says buy one pizza get one free. Printed stipulation on coupon: pizza must be of equal or lesser value. All of this is completely reasonable. Get to the restaurant and order two pizzas with extra dough, get to the register and get told that the coupon is only good for regular thin crust. That stipulation is not printed on the coupon anywhere. After I objected to the new limitation, I was given a discount for the price of one thin pizza, which I did appreciate but it wasn't a BOGO for the more expensive thick crust, of which I ordered two. I have no problem with a restaurant if they want to limit their coupons. But PLEASE don't attract me to your restaurant with misleading information and then fail to honor your coupon as written. So now MOD has created a bad vibe which makes me reconsider returning to the restaurant, the exact opposite result they were trying to accomplish with the coupon. Businesses everywhere: if you cannot stand by your word, don't print coupons. It's that simple. In fairness, it is really tasty pizza, it's just aggravating getting duped. Review from first visit: I do not think there is anything to dislike about MOD Pizza. For a very reasonable price you get an 11 inch pizza made to order and ready in just a few minutes. The pizza is quite tasty as well. As if that weren't enough, you can choose as many toppings as you like at no extra cost. So basically, you get a piping hot pizza in less than 10 minutes customized with whatever toppings you like served by friendly, smiling staff at a very reasonable price. What's not to like? The restaurant is clean and well maintained which is also a big plus. The inside is spacious and the wait times are minimal. We got in line behind 3 or 4 people and found ourselves ordering in no time. As for the beverages, I did find one small issue; they do not serve cherry coke. But this is really my issue, mainly my addiction to cherry coke. They make up for the lack of cherry coke with this really good lemonade. It is sweet but tart, just like lemonade should taste. Overall I recommend you try MOD Pizza. I am already planning a return trip. read more

They seemed to get in the weeds a little and the communication wasn't really there to get them through it.
