Coming in the store my first time the manager repeatedly asked if my friend and I could leave them a good yelp review and said ( after i already had bought my pizza) he'll give us free pizza if we do it right then and there. The manager was very pushy on the subject while 2 of his other employees were just watching us. When i got my pizza, not only was the dough not cooked all the way but I found hair on it. I'm sick to my stomach! You guys should stress less about yelp reviews and more on the service and the quality of food. read more

They lost my order of a pizza and I was really disappointed until the manager personally came up to me and helped me out. He allowed me to get another pizza because of the one I lost. I went here a while back and it was great! The staff are friendly and very meticulous about taking down your order ~ if you've been here you know the dozens & dozens of options for pizza topping. There are 3 sizes mini, Mod and mega. The mini was perfect for me I'd have to be pretty hungry to finish a Mod and I'd have to share a mega. I tweeked the mad dog pizza which is Mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni with red sauce by adding heavy sauce, mushrooms, basil and arugula soooooo good!! Shut up and just go eat it! This place was an absolute gem! The fact that you design it they build it is super cool. Most spots you tell em what ya want on the pizza. Something about seeing the toppings and watching them put em on does it for this fat kid. They've got em all. Shakes beers even Mexican coke, yum! This is my first review ever. And I sometimes get service that isn't up to par. Or makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I don't like to trouble people especially when I understand customers can be difficult at times. Might have been on my part I don't know. I only come in once in a while as a treat. The 2nd guy who was doing topping just silently grabbed whatever I wanted but seemed in a haste to move on. And believe me I completely understand, maybe he's tired of pizza, or having a bad day, but please be nice if customers are nice. I didnt mean to cause any troublesome issue. After I finished my pizza, I simply asked to order garlic strips, I can clearly see the frustration in his face for me ordering that AFTER I ordered my pizza. Please dont take it out on me. I have my bad days too, with customers as well. I still try to keep service as pleasant as possible. Being nice with 4 stars. Otherwise it makes me want to go somewhere else for my pizza fix. I work at a hardware store at the same shopping center. I find myself eating lunch at Mod more often than not (I eat there on average three times a week, probably a ). I mention that this is my my frequent dining choice because I have never had a bad meal or experience here (about a hundred visits). They shout out a hello when you walk in, and they always remember my name. The pizza is thin crust, which I like for a lite lunch, and is as good as is your choice of fresh ingredients. Even when they are busy, the line is short and I have never waited more than ten minutes from the time I walk in the door until I am stuffing my face. I had a Mini, red sauce with Mozzarella, ground beef, bacon, onion, bleu cheese, and mushroom yesterday. Yum. Bottom line is I get treated like a friend, I get the tasty hot food I want, and best of all, I spend less than I would at McD's. Bonus points because all of their plastic cups and straws are compostable. Everything except my plate goes in the green bin. read more

I highly recommend Mod Pizza. I like how the dough is fresh and you can observe them add your toppings, just like Subway or Chipotle. Our pizzas cooked surprisingly fast and tasted great. Good assortment of drinks, with shakes and floats too. The decor is urban/modern style and is lively and inviting, and the staff members we talked to were very friendly. A great addition to Alameda, as we have few pizza places that serve high quality, non greasy pizza. We will be back often! read more

The pizza here is awesome! It cooks super fast and it's thin crust is so good! You can add as many toppings as you want because they only charge a fixed price for every pizza. The Mod size is easily shareable between two people. And I usually have leftovers! read more

Went to MOD Pizza today (first time) and it reminded me of Subway. My granddaughter wanted cheese and bacon, I wanted more toppings. I like that I can customize pizza w/o additional cost, however, crust was to thin. My granddaughter liked it and she's a very picky two year old, that's why 4 stars and customer service was good. read more

Very good pizza for a quick type of kitchen. I learned that the original partners of MOD split and one went off to start Pie-ology. I have had Pie-ology and I think MOD is tastier. I expected more. I tried it twice and I was disappointed both times. First time I ordered 3 pizzas, 2 of the same and 1 different. The 2 similar ones (Tristan with pesto) were actually not similar at all. One was ok, but the other was so salty that we could barely eat it. After that, I thought that I would give it another try since well, everybody makes mistakes once, so let's give it a second chance. Again 3 pizzas, different ones this time. 2 of them were ok, but the 3rd one had the dried tomatoes completely burned. It was disgusting. I'll go back to A-town pizza and Pieology. read more

I came here today for the first time on my lunch break. One of the slew of new build your own pizza places that have been popping up all over the bay area, but this is the best that I have tried. The staff was all smiles, the music was awesome, and the food was great. I built my own MOD (11") pizza. Red sauce, pesto, mozzarella, pepperoni, chicken, bacon, with black olives and green peppers. They even had Asiago which I LOVE on pizza's. The thin crust had a nice crunch to it but still had some chew, the cheese had a nice browning to it and the toppings were perfect ( they should be, I picked them!). The cook Glen even suggested that I try the Sri-Rancha (spicy ranch) and it was the perfect compliment. I will be back. Soon. read more
