The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food was pretty affordable, and the vibe is casual and popular among families.

We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated pretty quickly upon walking in. We ordered Caesars, meatballs for the kiddo, a cheese thin crust, and a BYO thin crust with sausage/onion/pepp. We also grabbed some local brews too. There's something about their cornmeal crust I absolutely love. The pizza is light, crispy, and just a nice pie overall :) I didn't know they had lunch specials (personal deep dish or thin crust) and side mixed or Caesar until 3p. They also have a weekly happy hour from 3p-5:30p with cocktail/food/beer and wine discounts. Space is huge and super aesthetically pleasing. I believe the building was once an old bank now converted. Parking is tough around Park hehe, so leave room to nail a spot.

The chef really knew how to season. I had plain water and my friend had Alameda coke. I've never heard of it but it's made in Alameda. It is a small place with about 10 tables and I don't know if there are outside seatings. I don't want to forget to mention the most delicious tiramisu. It melted in your mouth. But I'm guessing they still have pizza ovens, because there's a really good pizza kitchen there. Groovy Island Pizza gets 5-stars for VALUE alone! I ordered a Mushroom & Sausage Medium pizza, added pepperoni and more mozzarella, and the price was still under $20! Of course the price adds up as you pile on the toppings. First, this is a virtual brand and not a ghost kitchen. This is simply a real business selling pizzas over delivery apps. For some reason, they're using this crazy name. I ordered a medium "Mushroom & Sausage" Pizza. Then I added Pepperoni and more Mozzarella Cheese. Price $18.95. That's a medium pizza with 4 toppings. It was hellya good! It had my basic requirement for a good pizza....a thick blanket of cheese. Crust was soft, but lightly crispy. Even with pepperoni and sausage, it was not overly salty. It was just a good pizza, at a fair price.

Absolutely wonderful experience here for a last-minute birthday dinner…read more We didn't have a reservation for a Saturday night, but did not have to wait around 5:45pm for a party of 2. There is plenty of seating inside, by the bar, and outside in a heated patio. I ordered the spaghetti del Trabocco, as I love seafood and pasta, but have food intolerance to onion and garlic, which has always been challenging for me when going to Italian restaurants. However, the waiter informed me that this dish has no onions or garlic at all! I have never yet encountered a pasta dish with no garlic/onion and was beyond exhilarated that I would be able to order this dish. My husband got the lasagna, and we both ordered drinks. The drinks came out within a few minutes, along with yummy bread, vinegar and olive oil. The entrees took about 10 minutes to come out but they were well worth the wait. The scallops in the spaghetti were so soft, the shrimp were large, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. One of the clams was slightly salty but it did not ruin the dish. My husband enjoyed his lasagna as well, noting it was fulfilling. The best part of the night, was when I asked for a tiramisu to celebrate my birthday. Having tiramisu cake on my birthday holds personal sentimental value to me. Apparently, when the cook isn't busy, he'll come out and sing Happy Birthday to you! The cook was busy when my cake came out about 10 minutes after we finished our main dishes, but the waiter came to sing instead and he was wonderful, topping off the night to say the cake was complimentary. I was almost brought to tears by the gesture. The tiramisu was delicious, devoured too quick, even my husband approved, and I have been thinking of it ever since. I am so appreciative of how they made my birthday dinner a wonderful experience, the service, and the delicious food. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Drinks and appetizers are great at the bar. Bartenders are nice. I think I had a cioppino or sea food stew once that was also really good. All the food coming out of the kitchen looks great. But here's the rub I finally figured out after talking about this place with my partner multiple times. There is tension in the air, a lot of it. Walking in you can feel it. Not sure where it's coming from since the owner, Gino I think, seems like a pretty nice and chill guy and interactions with him are always good and I see him interact with the staff in a positive way. So why the tension? Where is that coming from? Regardless, I don't need that tension and anxiety on my resume or in my tequila. For some reason I really wanted this place to be sort of a nice hang out and place to always go. Just hasn't panned out that way. We'll still go back at times and test the waters. Just not going to be one of our regular haunts. People seem to love it more than I currently do so there must be something there. Rounding up to 4.

Unfortunately, the response was extremely disappointing. I was told, essentially, Why didn't you check the box?and was told that my only option was to drive another 20 minutes back to the restaurant. I live about 20 minutes away, so this would mean making another 40-minute round trip after I already spent 40 minute driving going there. All because of an error that happened when the restaurant handed me the wrong order without checking . When I asked if they could refund the order instead, I was told that they couldn't do that and that I would eventually have to speak to a manager and hanged up . I understand that mistakes happen.
