Pizza calzone with mushrooms and pepperoni
    Robert C.

The garden salad was fresh. The calzone with toppings of pepperoni and mushrooms was so delicious. The calzone had the right amount of cheese and the portion size was decent and reasonably priced. The proprietor who took my order only asked for payment after the food was prepared and not before which I thought was great customer decorum. I highly recommend this independent pizzeria in Alameda.

I recently moved to Alameda and over the past months have been searching for new spots (pizza, taquerias, dim sum, tandoori, etc). The first month I was here, I lucked upon Alameda Pizza. Their toppings-to-dough ratio is perfect for me. I learned from the owner (nice guy!) that their delivery had became unavailable due to being short-staffed- he was doing everything himself. Fast forward to today and I was able to order delivery today (!) and had to stop myself from devouring the entire pizza. Thanks for the delicious pizza pie!!

A classic pepperoni pizza. No frills, all flavor. Quiet and casual pizza spot. We walked in for a whole pie and the gentleman who attended us was very kind! Within 15 minutes, he brought out a hot and fresh pizza. The ratio of everything was perfect. The crust was soft, but crispy at the same time and the sauce was slightly sweet which was a nice contrast to the spice in the pepperoni. This I was what a pepperoni pizza should taste like. I look forward to coming back!

***3.5 Stars*** The truth is, I kind of adore little spots like this. Divey, cheap, local, quick, kind of hole-in-the-wall-ish with a homey feel. That's pretty much Alameda Pizza to a tee. It's nothing fancy by any means, but it's great for something casual and cheap. Stopped by for a few slices and I got just that. There was nobody else in the store when I went, so it had me skeptical at first. But once I sat down and enjoyed my slices (pre-corona), I knew that I was in good hands. It's not the largest pizza parlor, but they've got enough space to accommodate several parties. They've got a couple different beers and daily happy hour specials. I love that they do pizza by slice because sometimes I just don't wanna order a whole damn pizza. I mean... it's just ME. Pizza prices seem pretty reasonable though. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage slice which is more like two thin slices. They baked the slice to a crisp which I like, but the cheese a little on the dry side. Thin crust, not doughy, but perfect for those who prefer a crisper crust. Also had a small house salad which was basic but tasty. For the value, it's honestly a great deal. If you're looking for something quick, cheap, and casual, I'd definitely recommend it.

Food was really good and the owner is a very nice fellow. Support your local pizza place with some 1980s decor flair.

Okay pizza, nothing special. Friendly service with okay prices. Tried it a couple of times. Nice dough but a tad heavy on the oregano.

Delicious slice...thin, cheesy, fresh and hot. That's what it's all about! Charming low key ambience. Will be back for sure.

Owner is very rude and lies to customers. Im a pretty upscale person and he referred to me as "trash." I do not recommend Alameda Pizza.

We originally…read moreplanned to go to another pizza place, but the wait was long and they closed early for a Saturday, so we ended up here--and we're so glad we did. Everything from the service to the overall vibe was great. The drinks were well balanced, not too sweet or too strong. The garlic cheese bread was honestly one of the best we've had--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with the perfect amount of cheese and garlic. Their ranch was really good too, probably house made. We also ordered the Old School Detroit-style pizza and it was cooked perfectly with crispy edges and super flavorful sauce. Definitely coming back.

We specifically asked about the heater and were told they'd "send someone to turn it on." Later, when our waiter said he didn't know how, I went back to the hostess, and she immediately said, "Oh, they aren't working." So why not just say that from the start? They clearly already knew the three outdoor heaters were out of gas. It's winter -- something guests should be told upfront. We asked if we could sit inside and were told no because they had "only one waiter." Yet I saw at least four different servers working. We stayed only because we had already ordered -- we're not shady like that -- but honestly, transparency would've saved everyone the trouble. Food: *Caesar salad was cut oddly and overpriced. *Pesto pizza tasted more like spinach -- one of the least flavorful "pesto" pizzas I've had. *Two dirty water cups. *Asked for ice twice and never got it. *Sodas only came after asking twice. Other issues: *One bathroom stall was completely out of toilet paper. *The lock on the handicap stall didn't work. The only standout was The All Star pizza -- that one was actually very good. Overall, not worth the visit. Better communication, working heaters, and basic attention to service and facilities would've made a huge difference.

Also answered all my questions that I had about the menu. They let me know how time before the order was ready. The one downside was their text system wasn't working to let me know the food was ready, so I had to call back. The place was packed when I arrived to pick up the food. The food was still warm and everyone loved it. Paparoni pizza was delicious I love the sweet and savory taste. The Caesar was good but the croutons were a little stale. Chicken wings were perfectly fried but I would say need a little more seasoning. The Rigatoni was delicious, the sauce was super thick and flavorful. Definitely will be coming back to dine in!

This has to be my favorite pizza outside of NYC! I have tried many pizzas in different styles all…read moreover the country, and this went straight to the top 3. The sauce was perfectly tangy, which is just how I like it. There was also a lot of sauce, which I also prefer, without the crust getting soggy. The crust was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. It wasn't too oily and the cheese wasn't too salty. I loved the grated parmesan. Literally a perfect slice of pizza. The garlic knots were also amazing, even though they didn't really have a strong garlic flavor. The bread tasted buttery and didn't even need marinara dipping sauce because it was scrumptious on its own. It was soooo soft! The spicy vodka fusilli wasn't my favorite and I wouldn't order it again. It was just too simple and lacked depth. I would recommend skipping the pasta and order pizza only! The ranch had a tang to it which I did not like (had to pay for ranch). The downside was the wait to be seated (about 30 minutes) due to the small restaurant and the service. They do have a small amount of outdoor seating. Despite having many employees standing behind the counter, our server was the sole person tending to us when he was already busy assisting other tables and even bussing them. The food was served pretty quickly after ordering, but no one was able to come back and ask us if we needed anything (such as water refills). Our server was really kind but unfortunately looked overworked. It just didn't seem like they had strong teamwork, such as others helping even when they're not asked to. The soft serve ice cream was absolutely delicious and also 10/10 for flavor and texture. I would love to try it with olive oil next time! To get a tasty pizza while avoiding the slow service, I think I will opt for ordering online for takeout when I come back. Also, parking is pretty challenging during busy hours such as dinner. There is a bathroom for customers.
